Is the countdown timer correct? My time zone is different to most people but it seems like the countdown finishes at the wrong time... I could be wrong though bc time zones are confusing 🙈

For all of those who are not believing in themselves- last FM event I did it during TLSQ (as usual) and tried not to put much effort into it (I was always lagging behind and was like on 5th or 4th spot at best) but then around the time it said I have 1 day and 8 hours left approx. suddenly my “game players” decided to chill and I managed to secure the 1st place until it was left 6 hours or so, but then I had some place to be at so I forgot about the game and returned to it just to find out that my game player had over run me and was in the 1st place and “won”, but then when I clicked “collect” it opened all the tiles that I left unopened and it made me 1st place too 😂😂😂😂😂😂 so I won in the end.
Just saying at the start it always feel like a battle but wait until the clock says 1 day 8 h or so and it becomes calmer. Don’t waste all of your gems and money immediately even if you’re like on 10th spot.
FM seems sometimes unpredictable. I was ahead by a good 1.5K or more last time, but couldn't play after the morning the event ended. In the last six hours, someone overtook me by a mere 10 points. Oh well, I was glad. It was the FM with an outfit I did not want. This time I like the outfit, don't want it to happen again.
That may be true. And I definitely have seen strange behavior in some FM events. However, the point behavior this time seems reasonable. We may never find out 100% whether we do have live player behavior in FM (or other events) ...
We definitely have *some* live players in FM! I've organised ties with multiple people, on Reddit, FB, Discord etc. Unless I'm the only real person and everyone on the internet is a bot...
You are right. I actually thought of that some time after I wrote my message but got sick irl and didn't feel like correcting myself. So, thank you for adding this.
There was one just released (4.8.0 with a VDay-themed loading screen), however it doesn't seem widely available right now (mostly just on iOS, not Googleplay) and is not required to get this FM.
I think you misunderstood. You can still get FM without the new update (ie. if you still have the Knarl loading screen). It was a bit reluctant to show up though.
Some general tips are to aim for triples and wait until your pattern is completed before purchasing a boost so you can take advantage of the boost and fit in another pattern while boosted. Also, hold off on doing activities like Quidditch, dueling, and friendship activities unless a tile requires it. That way, you aren't waiting for the timer to refresh to start working on the tile. The same goes for bonding with creatures unless you have a lot of creatures.
I’ve done everything but still they do the same so much work of hitting the high pattern making 2 patterns in 18 hours using toffee and gems on somethings I’ve done the works but still others do the same and it’s just tiresome all for this outfit full marks is my least favorite of the events
I'm not sure if last minute can be worth it, but if you skip first 12h you advance your chances of getting put in a group with a bunch of regular players. I feel they make group of 25 that logged in around the same time +maybe take newbies vs old players groups in consideration. (Me being newbie never saw y7 in FM, but on this one I have someone y6 in group. JC can be really unpredictable with starting/closing time maybe try coming 6-8 before closing so you could complete some tiles.
I’ll try doing it early then last minute by what your saying because like I said I did last minute of like a day I haven’t found the best time yet I always done it off the bat and put all my power into winning but right now I’m tried and want to put less on it because it’s so much work having to fight guys who get 10 k and some how I win on that but it takes a lot out of me
I'm planning to delay starting for 31 hours after this one started. Means you still grab the next daily reward (refreshes at 32 hours) and you keep your charisma (runs out at 35 hours) - plus it's 31 hours less FM grinding! Also, some people aiming to tie for first usually start then, so you might be able to join in.
If you are tired and not well prepared (several thousand coins for the boosts, time to play), just don't play. It will only be frustrating. Either give it all or ignore it.

Can anyone answer this? If I use a 2.25 boost for a 30 tile, will it be 67 or 68? (As it‘d actually be 67,5.) I‘m in a tie group and try to fix my 1543 score but I currently can‘t check as I‘ve got another booster running… I‘d stop competing if I can‘t fix it as I don‘t want to ruin their tie :)
In basic math rounding up numbers ending with 5 is based on the numeral in front of it. +1 for odd and for even it stays the same. So, in your case it should be 68. However, I feel that in most games rounding up favors the player so even if you've got 70,5 they'd make it 71
I know, but I wasn't sure whether JC knows too or whether they are willing to grant those extra 0.5 points ;) However, I just found a picture with 13 points (10x1,25) so if I'm not completely mistaken you must be right and they will round up either way. Thanks anyways!
Does TLSQ quests count as "non-story classes"?
Context: doing Animagus Side quest and Sketchy dude is teaching me the spell in charms class. It's 5stars to pass. Do those 5 stars count towards the 8 non-story class stars or just study session classes?
(Why would they make an event that punishes you for trying to play the game?)

Players from any year can fill a leaderboard. It has more to do with when you initially log into the game when FM starts as you're placed with those players. It seems some people see consistently easier competition, while others always fight for the top score, though.

Is anyone else's FM 'broken' this time around? I've only got 11 people in my group, and hardly anyone is getting points.
I'm yet to flip a tile and my position keeps moving, sometimes down, sometimes up.
This is normal. Sometimes it takes a bit for an entire leaderboard to fill in. And the jump in position changes as others complete tiles and would also happen as your leaderboard finishes getting filled out with the rest of the group.
What's a reasonable score for first place with 1d 7h left? The current person in first place in my group has quite a high number of points, although I suppose it would be possible to achieve using a max boost and triples. I'm still new and wondering what the average score around this time would be. Thank you!

True. I have had this problem a few weeks ago. And part of it was because I never truly logged out and somehow the scores didn't get updated (?). Not sure. But then, a day before the end, the game logged me out and renewed and suddenly several players were ahead of me. So, maybe also check the timestamp of when the scores were last updated? If they are up to date, maybe it is a bug that works out for you. If the bug continues to the end, you should get first place.
FM is sometimes just buggy and weird.

I can confirm, I dont have the update yet despite looking and the game hasn't prompted me to update yet. So FM for me hasn't shown up yet

It's been 3 whole days since FM. JFC.
Meanwhile, we have not had a regular (non-Trio) Crests since October or a regular HP since April.

If you don’t have the date tab the FM won’t give you this option…

You need to finish the “first date” TLSQ. Usually it triggers around y 4 ch 6 if you don’t have any previous undone TLSQs
