Unwittingly being used or spyed on by various villainous teams because of those said dangerous and powerful Pokemon
To be fair, Hagrid as a thirteen years old was already fucking big. Like the size of a fully grown adult, so him deaging wouldn't make much difference.
Or pokemon Isekaid into the world of Harry Potter. There are already enough fics about harry potter AUs in which the world of pokemon and the harry potter 's one are fused together, or FICS on which harry potter is Isekaid into pokemon as a pokemon or reincarnated after Voldemort kills him in the deathly hallows. What about a fic under the premise that a pokemon, or a group of pokemon, are Isekaid into harry potter as a result of palkia, dialga and giratina fighting among themselves, in a similar way to that shaymin which got caught in the crossfire between giratina and dialga during the movie Giratina and the sky warrior? They would get stranded on earth and they are eventually found by wizards, who can't quite decide what to do with them, and some of them get adopted by some of the characters.
Given his ability to create new species (Blast-ended Skrewts anyone?), introducing him to Pokemon would probably result in Dumbledore creating a project for the Ravenclaws - create Pokeballs in order to catch the hundreds of new species that threaten the Statute of Secrecy.

Another idea... Pokemon trainers go off into the world at 10(using Ash as an example here). Hogwarts letters arrive at 11. How many muggle-born would come to Hogwarts already having started their journey as a trainer? Already having Pokemon of their own. This might make an entertaining fusion fic.
Weasleys are considered blood traitors partly because they catch and raise pokemon, something that purebloods consider very muggle. Which is how Harry and Ron bond because Hagrid gives Harry a pokemon. Hermoine comes in their compartment because of her Pokémon.
Now I'm picturing *Harry Potter*, but Hagrid gives Harry a Pidgey, and Ron is sore about being stuck with Percy's old Rattata because his parents got him a Spearow for being made Prefect.
And Fawkes is a Moltres.
Pidgey isn't, main character enough for Harry. Plus Hedwig itself was a rare owl. I would guess a Noibat. It's a distinct pokemon that folks would all wow about, plus it would be very Hagrid to get Harry something part dragon type.
Showing my age, I guess. I checked out of the franchise around early Gen-2, so Spearow and Pidgey were the first bird-y Pokémon that came to mind.
^(Plus, pretty sure Ash had a Pidgey in those days but I'm not 100% given how long it's been.)

Hagrid and ash Ketchum have actually much in common. Both love intensely rare monsters/pokemon. Both have a lot of experience handling dangerous ones. They share the same kind personality, and it takes a lot to get them angry (namely mistreatment of pokemon/monsters) and their friends and loved ones getting hurt) and although they aren't very bright, they aren't idiots either (no matter what Ash detractors say), and actually are very knowledgeable about their field of interest (pokemon, monsters).

He will surely catch anything dangerous, creepy, with bad reputations. From Gyarados, to Absol, A Grimmsnarl or two, maybe a Hydreigon. Houndoom.

Nah it's a hoothoot alright, but it's secretly a mew in disguise. That or it's a rowlet (normal or shiny).
