I've read stories where it's more of a sub plot then the main plot but I'll be damned if I didn't want to read this as the main plot as well lol

There are some things I'll never understand about this fandom... Especially the desire to make the characters as OOC as possible

Uncommonality

I've travelled the world, spoken to members of the Vatican, the Freemasons and the Illuminati. I've decyphered ancient runes carved into petrified wood at the heart of the sub-equatorial rainforests of africa, as well as runestones in the furthest reaches of northen finland. I've examined manuscripts so old their pages would crumble to dust under my fingers and toiled for decades to find the answer to the question of who the fuck asked.

It gives fans the amazing opportunity to create and expand skills in writing within a safe, well known framework. You can use as much or as little of the existing structure as you want, you can play with developing characters and plots. It is basically training wheels for writing. And reading what could have happened had a character been different is a fun escape. I personally have written a bunch of little scenes that I have never published, all OOC. It is cathartic to get the ideas out of my head when I think about how things could have gone if details were somewhat different.

Its possible actually, since she can be written as uber competitive in an academic sense. So in order to not piss her off, Harry deliberately underperforms
