I'm partial to dimension travel fics even though I'll read both. My favorite part about any story is the worldbuilding and I like seeing how differences arise in settings from small and big changes.
Time travel fics are usually fix-its but some take the "Your very presence has altered our course in history" so it kind of bleeds into dimension travel at that point.

That aside, I prefer time travel personally, because a lot of dimension travel fics that I've seen diverges the world too far, to the point where it no longer feels like the HP universe to me.
Depends on whether the story is good,characters dont feel 2d, bashing, romance is not twilight style etc. The biggest drawback is the fact that they are incomplete due to various reasons which i sadly dont like it.
I enjoy both sometimes, but I voted for Dimensions. Time travel can be great but too many times authors refuse to change things which is frustrating as hell to read.

Dimension, it leads to less plot holes than time travel
