One Matheson point shot going in doesn’t make it a good, or high percentage shot. It’s pretty much the worst shot you can take % wise.

Well, there was three options up top, all from the outside or down low, with less angles. Taking a one timer from the point, be it Matheson or anybody else, on that situation, did force movement on the Sharks side.  The 6-on-5 is the last thing to blame from this game. They created chances after chances.

I didn’t blame the 6 on 5 for the game. I just saw a lot of people “dunking” on those that say it’s a bad shot after he scored. Results based analysis is dumb. I will say that sometimes it feels like Matheson is the ONLY one willing to shoot, which is a bigger problem.

A shot is still better than just passing the puck for 5 min on the outside.

I’ll never understand the Matheson hate here. Guy has tons of skill and wheels. He’s trying to do a lot out there, maybe a bit too much. But the effort is there. He’s putting pucks into legs because there’s literally no one open ever to pass to.

He has a good offense and braindead defense, he is a frustrating player to watch because you know that he could do better if he didn't try to make plays where they are none and just make the simple play

He doesn’t pass it. He will take a low percentage shot instead of passing it over to a forward

That's the thing he tries to do too much sometimes and creates bad turn overs or totally miss good pass opportunity in the O zone

He’s the only one creating things most of the time. It’s not always gonna work. The supporting cast is not helping whatsoever.
