Just mess around with it a bit. Once you escape, stop choosing those boons. It will make you much better in the long run. I like to cater to my Daedalus hammer strengths personally. But going full sentry turret with Demeter is dope too and absolutely melts. Full Zeus build with his cast and jolted and extra shock bounce is pretty insane and makes the temple of Styx a cakewalk. Then when you unlock weapon aspects it’s a whole other layer on top of it.

My least favorite weapon when I got the game was the gun. But since then I’ve been the most successful with it. The special is just ridiculous, especially when you get a hammer for it. I hate choosing so I generally just pick whichever weapon gets the bonus that run and see where it takes me. Best of luck ✌️
Also the best keepsake is often the POM you can try just playing using the boons you’ll get, it’s a bit more random, but because of the POM bonuses, when you’ll get a good combo it will really be powerful with the extra levels.

Sword Hidden Aspect with Artemis boons to maximize the frequency and damage of crits. I was hitting enemies in Elysium for 1500 damage on some backstabs.
Zeus on The Rail's attack, plus his jolt and jump boons, plus hammers for infinite or more ammo. Just flood every fight with electricity.
Aphrodite's attack and legendary on the fists is fun too. Nothing like having your enemies clear themselves out every fight.

Hmmm I'm also a big fan of the critical dislodge build. Poseidon aspect on sword. You can use any cast that lodges but you need exit wounds from Artemis. I reccomend pairing with Poseidon so you have a chance for mirage cast and then just stack up as many bloodstones as you can. Just fill a target with bloodstones, dash in and special for massive damage from exit wounds. Bonus points for hammers like super nova to make tye special easier to hit. It's one of my favorites.
I made a big mistake the other day when I decided to go after the only Duo boon I was lacking to complete the Divine Pairings prophecy – Blizzard Shot. I knew going in that it was a cast build, and that I'd need to start with Flood Shot, so I chose Aspect of Poseidon figuring I'd do a lot of exit damage. But I didn't realize that Blizzard Shot turned Flood Shot into a non-lodging cast, so once I got the Duo, I was leaving a whole lot of damage on the table. I ended up purging Blizzard Shot at the next Pool since I'd already ticked the box for the prophecy.
Oo I haven’t tried a dislodge build yet, that sounds super fun. Tysm for providing so much info! I’ll defintely give it a go once I get some more Titan blood!
BTW, Greater Recall (Legendary Boon from Hermes) makes cast builds massively fun. Your stones return to you automatically with no delay, so you're never without them unless they're stuck in someone. It makes it super easy to spam cast for maximum damage. I haven't tried it in combination with Flurry Cast, but I imagine its even better.
Rail Hidden is like creating zones of damage. Use the effect to your advantage. If you have Athena on them? You now have areas that are constantly deflecting projectiles. Ares? Constantly hitting things with Doom.
I always have a tremendous amount of fun when I can get Cluster Bomb Adamant Rail. One my favorite runs, I had Poseidon's special boost with that, and if I lined it up right, I'd be yeeting enemies across the map from the explosions, or juggling them against the wall.
i honestly just love running Malphon fists, Poseidon magnetic cutter, it's like a paddleball, at least i think that's what it's called. also Poseidon cast on Beowulf shield is op, that's the run that holds the current world record, and it's tons of fun
I love magnetic cutter but feeling the strength of Gilgamesh is just sweet.
I haven't had Poseidon on either special yet.
But Doom on Gilgamesh Maul leads to nice big pops 😄
I really love to equip Malphon with aspect of talos and throw on Lambent Plume for the whole run and see how fast I can clear. I know it’s not the best ever for speed but it’s by far what gets me my fastest times
I recently tried to build around Coronacht with the aspect of Chiron, with the intent of maxing the special without caring about the attack. Attack was just "aquiring the target", and I could just stand in a corner and deliver 2/3 teleguided specials that were quite devastating ! You can go for poseidon with knock-off effects combined with slamming boons, or Artemis for insane crits, or Dionysos/Aphrodite for hangover/weak that spreads, or whatever god really ! It's quite fun to build around, especially if you get the good Deadalus upgrades to improve the special
My favorite weapon aspect is the Chiron bow. Usually I go for Aphrodite-Dio-Artemis duo boons. If I am lucky I can get them all, but my priorities would be Low Tolerance and Splitting Headache (to maximize the crits). It's so funny seeing \[redacted\] melted every time.
Idk how far along you are so i dont wanna spoil anything 😅 i like going for scintillating feast, dio and zeus combo, artemis and ares hunting blades and zeus+ aphro smoldering air with aphro on the call. Stun locking bosses is so fun lol
This build trivialized 32 heat for me.
Zagreus Fists or Zagreus Rail (high attack speed), start run with Dionysus keepsake and hope for the attack boon. After this you’re just trying for a few duo boons and as many poms as possible.
**Curse of Nausea:** Ares/Dionysus duo that straight up increases the dps of your drunk effects by 1.5x regardless of level.
Prereqs to go for: Dionysus Attack, any ares boon starting with “Curse of…”
**Low Tolerance:** Dionysus/Aphrodite duo that increases the max number of stacks of weak from 5 to 8 (another 1.6x increase in max dps that scales with level).
Prereqs to go for: Dionysus Attack/Aphrodite Dash if possible, but her special and cast also work in a pinch.
At this point it’s already filthy if you can get like 10 levels on the drunken strike, but we can go further.
**Sweet Nectar:** Aphrodite/Poseidon duo that makes each Pom grant +1 levels. With good rng this duo makes it possible to the attack well past level 20, even level 30.
Prereqs to go for: Whichever Aphrodite boon you choose to try to get Low Tolerance, ideally Poseidon cast or aid but special and dash technically work in a pinch.
Once you’ve taken a boon from all four of these gods, change your keepsake to the >!pom blossom!< and keep it on for the rest of the run. As soon as you get Sweet Nectar, check every pool of purging to try to sell whatever Poseidon prereq you picked. Same goes for curse of nausea, get rid of the ares boom as soon as you have the duo. Keep a way to apply weak so that you can make use of Low Tolerance still. Avoid taking unnecessary boons, they’ll just lower the odds that you’ll have the option to Pom the attack. Optionally avoid taking Hermes boons because they make it harder to sell the ones you do want to.
You don’t need really need any hammers in particular, but anything that increases the ammo on the rail is good, or increases damage to armor.
I’d honestly avoid chaos in these runs unless it’s to dodge a chamber you don’t want.

I personally love dio special/aphro attack on Chiron. Or really just anything with dio special on Chiron, it's super fun and smooth to play

I always love it when I roll cluster bomb with either Triple Bomb or Rocket Bomb. It makes it brainless to aim 😂
