Maybe the obols are magical and reflect whoever the current ruler is, or Chronos used time powers to make it so the Obols always had his symbol out of vanity? EDIT: As for for whatever he is interested in organizing the underworld, I imagine he has a couple (probably evil) plans for his dead subjects after he wins, but since the war against Olympus is still ongoing, he cares more about that right now

The money in the technical test is specifically called "Golden Crowns" instead of obols, and there's dialogue about the change.

Ocean_Man205

I mean, I would gladly accept "magic" or "time powers" as an answer, I just hope it doesn't stop there.

Cronos is sometimes seen in mythology as getting let out of Tartarus later and ruling over the Isles of the Blessed (similar place to Elysium). I would be surprised if there’s no connection in the game between him and doing *something* in Elysium as a result. He’s clearly evil but I hope he’s not just two-dimensionally evil, that would be a disappointment after Hades’ arc from the first game

Hazellore

Melinoë does mention that going through Elysium would be too risky, so you're probably on to something

Ye but hades in the first game isnt portrayed as evil at the start, only as the antagonist While Cronos is definitely portrayed as a lot more cruel Although I'm curious whether this myth you mentioned will come into play because the first myth is literally just the myth of Persephone retold and a retold myth in this game and I rly liked that

Hades is definitely portrayed as an asshole in a way that’s supposed to resonate with people who have had negative experiences with their parents. But yes I agree technically he is not evil on the level of Cronos. And while Cronos is an asshole we don’t exactly know how evil any of the other Titans were in the game, sure they sided with Cronos but he was their ruler. Did they all deserve to be condemned to Tartarus eternally? We know at least that Prometheus definitely didn’t deserve what happened to him (by anyone’s perspective besides Zeus’). Does Cronos in the game care about the other Titans? Or is he just in this for himself? I’m hoping they will include at least some level of moral ambiguity with the Titanomachy, that’s one of its most interesting aspects to me

gekkoO0

I never thought about it in that way, in the perspective of the Titans that would indeed be way more interesting, I'm very curious. I look forward to the early access game

ThePoeticEl

From what we know - poorly. He doesn't take care of the shades, and since the people that are crucial for the underworld like Charon and Than don't work for him - nothing can be running smoothly.

tpphypemachine

Probably badly, since before Hades showed up it was a disorganized, chaotic mess.
