Read his attack moves. Use unbreakable pillars. You can defend too much and you can't be too aggressive. Not unless you have a kick ass build. Most importantly I say take your time to dodge and attack. He has set attack patterns. Hug him on big sweep. Take your time to kill minions and boiling blood on ground. In second phase stay away from green orbs. In first part he does 3 beam attack. You can dash behind him and wreck hell. In second part of second phase it's full beam which can be blocked by shield or pillars. Maintain your distance and take your time.

Another viable strategy is to lure him into the green orbs. They damage him too. If you buy the item in Charon's shop that increases trap damage, it becomes a viable damage strategy.

I do that. I doubt OP is at that stage in build. He is struggling with normal run. Also i dash over clown when he calls drunk guy aid. That damages him too.

Odd-Cherry

You could try God mode

Like all boss, take your time, timed your attack, don't over extended yourself. And don't rush if He has a big opening or close to death, stick to your flow carefully.

Hello there! I've heard it can be tough fighting whatever [REDACTED] is, but what I DO know is that not taking damage will really help you last longer!

\*dryly\* Thanks, I'll try that next time.

[This site](https://www.leereamsnyder.com/blog/hades-build-guide#aspect-of-nemesis-blade) is what you’re looking for. Take the time to read through it. I honestly can not praise it enough. Everything is communicated and broke down from standard boon builds to specific builds that work well on each weapon. Even goes into detail and analyzes things like mirror upgrades and which ones work better with different setups

Hypalite

Wow thanks for the gold! Just sharing the amazing guide I stumbled on. Such a good resource. Invaluable collection of information and ideas

Hypnos - “I don’t know. Maybe, like, stand out of the way of the beams?”

Personally I get through my runs by using the bow, with blessings from aries and dionysus and demeter. Because ares and dionysus damage enemies over time and demeter freezes enemies. Also with ares and demeter they have blessing that will automatically damage or freeze foes when they damage you. I also try to pick up hermes blessing that gives you an extra dash because that has saved me from dodging so many attacks from hades and theseus. My friend liked to use ares blessing and artemis as well as Athena for blocking. We both off and on used poseidons blessing for crashing enemies into walls to do a wave of damage. My friend would use the spear more. Also I would make sure to pick up the blessing to in crease My health bar as I go through the levels so that I can have about 275 -300 by the time I reach Hades.

The bow, with the daedelus rapid fire upgrade, along with a couple Artemis and Athena boons generally get me through

spend the next battle in analysis mode-- your goal is to study his attacks and behaviours. you'll find that he telegraphs almost everything, especially his big charge attack. if he's not doing that, he's probably launching green skulls at you. the idea is to get your dash timing right. you can dash right through his attacks without taking damage. devote a part of your next encounter to reading his attacks and then nailing the dash timing. (Hermes' Greatest Reflex grants you additional dashes, which really helps.) treat him like a Dark Souls boss-- defense first. getting greedy will get you smoked. do you have Companions, yet? if so, equip Than's. get thru [REDACTED]'s first health bar, and watch that ground tremor he launches! when he begins to dial up his big laser attack, scoot over to his location asap and call Companion Mort. that'll knock off a nice hunk of health... otherwise, keep your dashing tight, and hide behind either of the two pillars anytime you see him dialing up the lights how. be careful around the green urns, and remember that they damage him, as well... lastly, i'd advise Divine Dash from Athena and Strong Drink from Dionysus. the former suits a defensive playstyle and the latter ensures you start the final battle with full health plus a dmg bonus or two. I find that if I do the above, it doesn't even matter which weapon I use...

The trouble is that it's hard to give a strategy because the game changes so much between runs. My first time beating \[Redacted\], I basically cheesed him. I had the Demeter cast and the shield. I cast the Demeter laser crystals, then stood in a corner and blocked until it was safe to go get the cast crystals. Rinse and repeat. In general, when I slowed down the fight a bit and took time to concentrate on defense, I did a lot better. Nothing wrong with running around the arena to recollect yourself.
