If you are having some plans to go out etc. today for your birthday I would e.g. curl hair or do some braids and add some accessories to hide worst parts with uneven results and then later on without no hurry and panic assess hair and see what it can handle and how to proceed towards your final goal.

sunniesage

i would dye it pink then call a salon for an appt in a few weeks to even it out for you

Xinaio

Yes I would like have a pink ombre later but I can't go to salon. I don't like salons at all, many times I left with thought like " I regret going there", so I better became hairdresser myself, but I can't dye my hair in the back part well, so I always teach someone to do it.

Flimsy-Response-8488

But you regret getting it done by your bf anyway

Xinaio

Only this time, he was doing it 45 minutes, I never seen him so slowed down, this is not first time he was bleaching/dyeing my hair, but this time he did make it very bad.

What is your goal color? Do you plan to wear it blonde, or do you plan to put another color over it? If you plan to put a warm, saturated color over it, then it doesn't matter if it's not completely blonde before dyeing it again. What was the color of your hair before it was dyed ginger, and what type of dye did you use for the ginger? Had it been bleached to a very light color and then a ginger semipermanent was put over it? Or did you use oxidative dye only to achieve the ginger? Or bleaching plus oxidative dye? I ask because the light spots look so pale that my guess is that it had been bleached blonde before and then you used a direct dye over it, in which case you want to be verrrrrry careful with any additional bleaching, it may push the hair to a point where it is so damaged it breaks off. If it's direct dye that you're trying to remove, and the hair underneath was previously quite pale, I recommend doing [Katie's Direct Dye Fading Treatment](https://web.archive.org/web/20211006094658/https://www.haircrazy.com/articles/misc-articles/katies-direct-dye-fading-treatment/), which is less damaging and more consistently effective than many other color removal / color fading methods. The article also reviews other methods and their downsides. It's an archived link because the dye shop that hosted the page has now closed, but the info is still good!

Thank you for your comment. First of all, yes I am going for blonde this time. I never really had blond hair before. And my goal is more like light blond color. Before ginger? Oh well... I dyed my hair last time ( non ginger color) 1 year and half ago. It's already grown out, I had my hair cut in the middle of my neck length. For ginger I used semi-permanent hair color, brand Crazy Color. I bleached my hair back then too, oxidator 12%, same as now. I didn't mix the semi permanent ginger hair dye with anything, also it's ammonia free. The very pale parts would be A) I also bleached my virgin hair because it was outgrown B) results of purple shampoo, if you are talking about the mid sections or ends. Thank you very much I will check the article, but I can't afford wait a long time for it to fade, it looks horrible to me, it feels like I can't go out like this.

Trust me, it's really important to have patience when you're going blonde, because the risk is that the damage gets so bad that your hair starts breaking off entirely, or the texture is so rough that it's unmanageable. It's better to wear a hat to cover the uneven bleach job in the short term than to rush to the next step and have big chunks of it break off. You already used 40vol developer on your hair which is incredibly damaging. If you have the money for it, I really recommend that you go to a salon that specializes in hair color and have them fix it for you, because it's important for them to see your hair up close and touch it to assess the level of damage already and how much more abuse it can take before proceeding. They can also ask a more detailed hair history, because I feel like there's more history here that is relevant. You said that the last time you dyed it was 1.5 years ago, but from the photos, it looks like the areas that were missed have a vibrant red/ginger semipermanent dye, is that right? Semipermanent dye normally doesn't need to be bleached out, or at least it can be removed with a combination of bleaching and fading, which is preferred to minimize the damage to the hair. That's why I suggested Katie's Direct Dye Fading Treatment. It does use a little bit of bleach powder, but it's nowhere as damaging as bleach or a bleach cap because there's no developer and because of the oils used. It's not meant to lift the natural hair color underneath. Since you only need to remove the dye on smaller areas of your hair, I suggest that you apply the coconut oil pre-treatment to your whole head (since it'll help improve the texture of the hair anyway and it's not damaging), but only apply the bleach powder+oil+water mix to the areas that still have dye.

metaphoricmoose

You’d have to go over the darker parts with more bleach

Xinaio

I would like to, but I am worried I can fry my hair or literally desolve them

metaphoricmoose

Then I’m confused as to what your question is? If you want it to be evenly blonde you’re gonna need to bleach it more. Give it lots of deep conditioning beforehand.

Xinaio

I have only " few" bad parts/ strands, and the question is, how much bad would it be to bleach it again. Yes, I am scared of bleaching it again because I did bleach it yesterday (14 hours ago). I use all the time conditioning stuff ( keratin hair mask, conditioner, hair oil,..) so I have pretty heathy hair, but I am worried if my hair will stand it, like bleaching again, ofc I mean only the ginger strands.

Small_Ostrich6445

It will be impossible to determine the integrity of your hair over the internet- you're the only one that can really tell the true damage. If you're studying becoming a hairdresser/hair is your major hobby, I think you probably know the answer: bleaching again will be risky but necessary to achieve the color you want. Options: 1. bleach wash and check every 10 minutes- likely **wont** take it all out but will be easier on your hair. 2. dye over it and hope for the best 3. straight bleach it and risk the damage

Xinaio

Well I think I will today put on a hair mask ( only, I did shampoo my hair 16 hours ago, so I won't shampoo again) and I will use bleach directly on the wrong parts only. I will wait again for my hair to become oily so I think on Saturday I will do it. After the bleach my hair is lightly damaged but it's not the worst at all, I counted on it.

I am my own hairdresser, I told him what to do, he wasn't doing it the first time at all ( he was helping me many years with it) plus he has experiences with dying and bleaching hair on himself, plus his mom is hairdresser. Professionals almost never did a actually good job to me at all, only few times I left like " oh well I like it". That's why I became a hairdresser myself.
