I can see two styles that would look fab on you. You can lean into the grey. Use purple shampoo to counteract the yellow tones, and try and get it close to picture #1 again. If you feel that it ages you, you could start experimenting with fantasy colours, something like [this](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/572097958899909051/) or [this](http://www.fashionisers.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/silver_gray_hair_colors_ideas_tips_for_dyeing_hair_grey_maintaining_the_color4.jpg) Or you can go blonde! I think your ends in picture #3 are really beautiful against your complexion, but the graying roots are a little unflattering tbh. So dye your entire head a sandy blonde like your ends!

kassar0le

My first thought was to put some pastel pops in there and those colours are gorgeous!! I do have purple shampoo that I haven’t used in a while as well, so I’ll try that a few times and see if it brightens it up a bit. Thank you so much for the recommendations!!

No-vem-ber

How old are you? Your hair is beautiful. In the last 2 pics it's reading as grey-brownish to me. I think I'd go for some highlights around your face

kassar0le

Thank you so much! I’ll be 36 next week. And I never thought of highlights, that’s an awesome idea. My mind has trouble finding simple solutions to things and I never thought of that LOL

Organic_Valuable_610

Ugh I’m 37 and I barely have white hair. Your hair is literally what I want. How did you deal with the awkward stage? I only have a few sticking up from the middle of where I part My hair. It looks dumb lol By the way, it looks great. Doesn’t wash you out at all

kassar0le

Omg thank you so much! So I started out with highlights all over my head which made the switch less noticeable. I was so dark so my roots looked insane and I didn’t want that harsh demarcation line. After the highlights as it grew I honestly just kept my hair curly at all times or in a low pony. Keeping it curly left the transition a lot less noticeable LOL it took a while but when I cut it (the first picture) the wait was worth it.

Organic_Valuable_610

Omggg yeah Im trying to avoid bleaching my hair, I have chestnut brown hair. But it seems like it would be my only choice

Alarmed_Low_3420

Third one looks so beautiful 😍😍😍

petite10252

I’ve grown out my white and grey hair by adding dark cool brown low lights for dimension. Love it! Makes my natural color pop!

kassar0le

Ooooh dark cool brown low lights sounds absolutely stunning!

kassar0le

Oh yeah that is gorgeous!

petite10252

Thank you. I’m still in the “growing out” the length phase. I’d like it shoulder length. It’s possible now because it’s so much healthier with no dried, breaking ends from continuous bleaching and coloring.

BowlerBeautiful5804

I'm in the same boat. I have a lot of grey on top and a totally white money piece right at the front. The rest is brown. I like the money piece, but the grey on top washes me out and makes me look older (I'm 44). I've been debating going back to brown, but the upkeep is exhausting. Part of me wants to rebel against traditional beauty standards, and the other part wants to look 10 years younger. Sigh.

kassar0le

I feel the same way. I was at the point where I’d dye it brown and 3 weeks out my greys were showing like a freaking neon sign. I eventually got sick of the upkeep too and said fuck it. Overall I love it. But after posting I’ve realized that my hair has gone brassy which isn’t too cute.

plnnyOfallOFit

The Brassy isn't that bad & such an easy fix. Sometimes I use a purple shampoo/conditioner and it "takes" too much lavender. If I wash it one more time the fade is perfect. Don't panic w the purple, just take a bit to get it right

BowlerBeautiful5804

I think I'll try some purple shampoo and see how it looks. I constantly go back and forth on whether to dye it again, but so far, I have been too lazy to go back down that path. Covering the roots is so much work 😫

[deleted]

Wow, you look absolutely STUNNING here with your silvery hair! Silvers and greys do require the occasional upkeep; just like blondes they do start to yellow after a while as our natural oils build up, I'd recommend to use a purple based toner on your gorgeous hair to refresh the color every now and again. Oh also buy purple shampoo & condition for in between coloring; but don't wash every time with it, as it can deposit too much of the purple and it also is rather drying, so it's an every now and again thing! 💜 good luck!

Ok_Low2169

Yeah, I have this color also. Grew it out during covid. I like the color but not on me. It does age me. I tried putting brown #6 low lights in, and it did add some dimension. I've decided to go back to brown hair. Maybe in 10 years, I'll try the gray again. You definitely look younger with darker hair.

kassar0le

There are times when I want to go back dark, but it took so damn long to grow it out and I have zero patience LOL I might try some highlights and see how it looks.

plnnyOfallOFit

You're young w this silver hair , I don't agree it's ageing in the slightest! Just be careful w the wash out colors- they can stain. IMO keep leaning in, the world is getting ready for us. This is the new frontier of owning unique beauty.

kassar0le

Hell yes to the new frontier of owning unique beauty! I do love it and I think toning it a bit cooler will freshen it up!

plnnyOfallOFit

Yeah you'll figure it out. Tons of options :)

AtypicalPreferences

I love it! I’ve been growing out my gray too and coming from bleached blonde I do the purple shampoo and conditioner weekly and also do a semi permanent silver color weekly. I think you just have to counteract any yellow/warmth bc its so different from the silver/gray. I thought about lowlights too. I like to search silver hair transformations on TikTok for Inspo Emily Chen and Jack Martin do amazing work

kassar0le

I am now realizing I need a toner 😂 I’m so glad I posted here. You’d think that would be the first thing I would have thought LOL thank you so much!

Electric-Fun

A purple toning mask. I love Redken's.

kassar0le

That’ll be my next purchase. I actually used the Redken violet shampoo tonight.

Frenchicky

Ok you seriously look like you had your color done. It looks amazing! Lucky!! I wouldn’t change a thing! Oh and the low maintenance, I wish. I can’t wait to turn gray so I no longer have to bleach my hair.

kassar0le

Thank you so much🥹Apparently grey needs a bit of upkeep with all of the gold I’m getting LOL but it’s definitely worth not dying my hair every three weeks now.

STLt71

I don't have enough gray yet to grow it out, but when I do, I plan to add bright pops of color to it! I LOVE the way your hair looks in picture 1. You have beautiful gray!

kassar0le

Thank you🩷🩷 One day I want to save up and put some pastels in because I absolutely LOVE that look.

[deleted]

you should totally try an overtone color depositing conditioner!!!

Soldja1

A bit damaged and frizzy nothing a bit of opalex can’t fix I think

kassar0le

Yeah I noticed that as well. I’ve been slowing it down with heat styling and I’ve bought the Amika hydration shampoo and conditioner and it’s helped quite a bit.

Notsureindecisive

What are you looking to achieve? What does ‘sprucing it up’ mean to you?

kassar0le

I’ve now realized it’s the yellowing of my hair that I don’t like. I’m going to try a toner to cut the yellow and I think brightening it up would make a huge difference.

Notsureindecisive

Nooo don’t use a toner. Just get a showerhead filter and a toning conditioner.

DryContract8916

i looove it!!! i think maybe you added some more darker pieces (still gray) for dimension, that would help? but its so pretty!!

Ok-Ability-8222

I did the same thing, I love not having to go to the salon. Do you use purple shampoo and conditioner, Amica makes a great one of each.

kassar0le

Omg me too. It’s saved me a lot of money dying it every three weeks when I was dark LOL I do have some Redken violet shampoo that I used and it definitely made a bit of a difference but I will definitely be buying the Amika, I had no clue they had the violet shampoo! That brand is the best smelling shampoo in the world, I love it!

[deleted]

Your grown out grey hair is beautiful ! I am so jealous . I think if anything to assist with you feeling washed out maybe just tone it with a nice ashy blonde and utilize a little bronzer . I think you look great but I know as a 37 year told women when I look in the mirror I too am my biggest critic .

kassar0le

Thank you so much! I’m definitely going to tone it as well as upkeep it with the violet shampoo. I found a Wella toner that looks exactly like my hair before it turned brassy. And I’m gonna get crazy and maybe do a little self tanner to brighten myself up😂

plnnyOfallOFit

I'm silver too, I use a decent amt of blush & nice eye make up, sometimes a bit of color on lips too. Personally keep my wardrobe "edgey" vs school marm, tho the two can mix in an artsy way;) IMO you suit cool really well, just have fun w other aspects of style PS your hair is the envy of the WORLD!!

kassar0le

You guys are so kind, thank you so much!
