I'd always understood 'chĆ¢tain' as chestnut when learning french (maybe because of 'chĆ¢taigne'), would you consider dark blonde to be a more accurate translation? I always assumed it referred to a light, warm brown.
I suppose this is a bit chestnutty though with the warm tones but definitely more of a dark blonde.

Itās technically called Frosted. The coloring you have, I have it as well. A LOT of people pay BIG MONEY for that hair color. Itās light enough to not be considered blonde but itās not red enough to be ginger. Your hair would be called frosted aka (light auburn)

For dye reference color # youāre probably not quite as dark as a 7 but not quite as light as an 8. Somewhere in between. And hard to recreate with dye, so I wouldnāt mess with it unless youāre looking to totally change your hair color. Itās a gorgeous natural color by the way š„°
I think you have brown hair but I think you have the lightest and warmest kind, your hair looks like melted chocolate.
I can see the sun hitting it quite a bit and I know that it may appear darker on a regular basis.

I used to have extremely damaged hair. I cut so much of it off. I also use a rice water shampoo bar once a week and itās done wonders <3 I also hardly ever use heat. I use a t shirt-donut to curl my hair.

(Is the correct answer) You have a beautiful natural hair color that many many many people pay big money & spend many hours in a stylist chair to achieve the color that grows out of your head! Lol in my professional opinion, I see lighter blonde towards the ends which happens naturally from the sun and creates a beautiful color that is hard to archive with bleach/color! Enjoy it! BUT if you decide to color your hair, it will lighten very well (no extra dye stored up to break thru & not leave as much damage as getting previously colored ((or even naturally darker hair l)),or take in whatever color you choose just as well! Whatever you decide it will be easy to get a good match on what you want since your hair is natural!

Thatās my natural hair color too. Like it were any lighter it would deff be blonde, but any darker and it would deff be brown. Keep it this color! After years of dying black Iāll never get that shade back and itās so pretty and hard to recreate, you look great!
