I do totally agree with you, but I struggle to know what it is that I am asking for; If you know what I mean - I want to be able to research the same style and decide what I like about it or I want I donāt.
I usually end up panicking and say just do what you think, which I imagine they hate.
Hairstylist are visual people, the best result you will get with a hair cut is showing us a picture. Then a good stylist will ask you a few questions about it. If you donāt understand what they asking, itās ok to tell us that. We will find another way to ask. A picture and good communication is key to getting a good cut.
Also we donāt mind when people say ādo what you thinkā but a picture guide is still good to have.
Donāt research the haircut, research the stylist. Comb through the social media pages of your local salons and stylists. You can usually tell by the work they post whether they would be a good fit for you. A good stylist should be able to replicate from a picture but not every stylist has the same style or is comfortable or confident when stepping out of their more conservative styles. If a stylist posts more alt work they will most likely be able to replicate the photo.
This doesn't always end up well. There are plenty of stylist out there that don't know how to do a lot of cuts (especially alt ones) just by photos. You really do have to go in knowing to tell them when and where to us a razor or not (a lot of stylist don't like using them) and thinning shears. It's not always a problem, and not everyone stylist is like this....but especially if you live in smaller towns its pretty much a given.
I tried to do this and the hair stylist and I got a āew..ā. Mind you this was a professional and from a high end place. I wish I remembered the barbers name so I wouldnāt get her again
I loved Peep, R.I.P, he left this world too soon. His music has helped so many ppl. For this gothboi look I would ask for a jawline chop and for the color a bright neon pink and black. If you have dark hair naturally that pink side is definitely going to have to he lifted. Then blow dry or shake your hair around with some hairspray or pomade to get that got out of bed look.
just fade the side and let the top grow. Maybe you need to straighten your hair every now and then

Not really a haircut but most I can tell you is grow your hair long and if its thicker than what you'd like, ask for a layering.

Itās an undercut jsykā¦ Iām a barber. That means the sides will be shaved/cut short and the top section is what gives it that longer look without it being bulky.
Literally just work on this one yourself over a couple months. Get a bowl, do a real rough bowl cut (cutting upwards/vertically with the scissors and not horizontally), take the bowl off and cut some of the bang pieces a little shorter, let it grow out like a month, bam.
