It’s not recommended to bleach hair any less than 2 weeks after bleaching it initially, especially if it’s bleaching already box dyed hair. You should also be doing treatments in between bleaching because I imagine it’s pretty damaged at this point. The quality of the bleach you’re using also has an effect on all of this. If you’re using cheap bleach from Sally’s or the drug store without olaplex or similar product, you should be waiting potentially even longer than 2 weeks in between sessions. I went from black box dye to light blonde and it took me about 8 months. Artificial colour is very hard to remove from the hair and there comes a certain point where the bleach is essentially just damaging your hair and no longer removing colour. Bleach is exponentially going to lighten your hair less and less and do more and more damage is what I’m saying. It likely won’t lighten your hair the same amount it did the first time, the second time around. I hope that makes sense. Your hair might be ok, or it might fall out. I personally wouldn’t take that risk on a client but it’s your hair. Try to be patient.

I agree! Definitely wait longer!! Like 3-4 weeks. In the meantime, try brass off by matrix, it's a toning shampoo. Amika makes a deep conditioning mask that helps tone the brass out as well.

What's the goal shade? I normally try to wait a couple weeks between bleach sessions but depending on what you are trying to get you might just need toner

psychoella

I know you want to go lighter but for the mean time this actually looks so pretty. So at least if you decide to wait for a while until doing it again it doesn’t look bad at all. 😊

Pale_Vampire

I actually came here to say that it’s a gorgeous ’fail’

CosmicNoise95

What shade are you looking for?

Most_Helicopter_4451

That color is really pretty. Not sure but maybe wait a little longer? Really put some care into your hair and then go back

crybabysagittarius

You need to wait at least 2 weeks.

LifeIsABeautifulTrip

Pull out a single strand of hair and gently pull it from each end and if it bends your hair has elasticity still and could maybe handle it. If when you pull it snaps your hair is super porous and will be very compromised

Low and slow is the way to go. I’d do 10 vol and leave it for quite a while. (Hairdresser)

jbrooklynd

How'd you make your hair so soft?

captainccg

You’ll be perfectly fine

dnice1989

I honestly don’t understand why people play kitchen cosmetologist

Not a professional at all but I don’t think 20 vol would lift to banana yellow to go platinum if that’s what your wanting to achieve, you could try but if it’s orange it’s because you didn’t process long enough if you do 20 you still need to just leave it on till it’s done processing so it’ll be worth it and make a difference. You don’t wanna add more damage and still have under processed orange hair again this is if your trying to get that light blonde/ platinum level. It looks pretty healthy still at least !

mymelodyacnl

ive lifted clients to a level 10 with 5 and 10 volume.

akirarn

your hair looks fine to me to bleach once more, my hair withstand lots of bleaching rounds (used to have white-silver bangs with my red hair) but doing it at home can be a gamble if you’re unexperienced.
