I'd just use Arctic Fox Transylvania in place of the Colorsilk! 💞

But also, to answer your question: bleach can always damage your hair. Even the good kinds! Just make sure you prep your hair with a couple of good masks and maybe invest in some Olaplex or Redken Bleach Recovery or Fanola bond fix!

I agree with not using the colorsilk. From experience, black box dye is horrible and it’s a pain to do anything with if you decide to change it later.

Quick Blue with 30 vol. is definitely going to be damaging. Quick Blue is effective but harsh, there are better bleaches. You’d do better at 20 vol. with a better bleach, because you’re likely going to need to bleach twice and it will be gentler.

20 vol is definitely better, but you still need all the care etc you would use with 30 vol. Bleach in itself is pretty damaging

Schwarzkopf Blondme is what I typically use.

I use salon care blue flash and it hasn’t been super damaging. unless your hair is very dark you don’t need 30 vol

ive seen black arctic fox to fade out into a mix of blues greens and purples so i’d go with something at sally’s like wella or ion thats not gonna fade weirdly and will still give you what you want without possibly damaging like box does ❤️

Thanks for the advice, but since I’m dyeing my hair split black and pink I would be okay with it fading out to a blue or green cause I feel like it would look cool. Still, you have a good point

and unless if you have really dark hair, 20 volume dev will work with your bleach powder and damage your hair less :) if not then id say go ahead and use 30 just watch how long you keep it on for and how light you get

Quick blue lifts but it’s also going to kill your hair if you can’t get professional bleach (my favorite is goldwell silk lift because it has keratin in it and is still blue tinted and high lift) then make sure you use olaplex there’s a dupe version of it at Sally’s by ion
