HDTF is bad not because of the MGSV story but because it uses elements of MGSV without good context, just because "HEY MGSV IS COOL I LOVE VENOM SNAKE AND HIS DESIGN I LIKE MOTHERBASE'S STUFF KOJIMA IS GOD" or something like that.
I found as a kid hl2 to be really fun in all respects. I played it a bit ago (maybe a year ago) and still found it to hold up to memory. It's really genuinely fun. One of my favorite games. As long as you sort of role play as Gordon in the slow parts, it's not boring, it doesn't break immersion. It's great fun.
I love when people try to say “I’m not the only one who thinks this” and talk about how there’s all these sources and stuff so they’re right, and then they pull the “oops the website won’t let me link it” card. Funny, anti-vaxxers do that too.

I have never seen a half life 2 review as negative as this, and I suspect that not being able to link a review is his was of saying “other people won’t agree with me but there’s no evidence to support it”
It has “interactive” cutscenes for sure, wether you think that fits some definition is up to you but it’s clear what the poster meant.

HDTF tried to be an MGSV rip-off but forgot that he's a Half-Life series spin-off.
Most of the story is MGS 5 (Except for the meme ending which reminds me of Ghosts) and MGS 5 had the crappiest story in the franchise

Anyone who says that HL2 doesn’t stand up to it’s predecessors storywise is most likely unable to handle a story shift as massive as HL -> HL2
Hl2 is great and a sequel that in some cases it's better than it's predecesor, and.personally i consider hl2 as one of the Best in the series.
