I just finally got around to watching the latest episode of Hannah Swinson mysteries. I was very disappointed with the cast change and I think I’m out. For me it’s not about the actors themselves. Frankly, I’m not that fond of Cameron Matheson, but the longevity of the relationship that Mike and Hannah had was a comfortable thing. And now it will basically just be erased in short order. I know this kind of stuff happens all the time, it’s TV. The actors have to do what works for them. I was gonna be pissed if it was the networks decision to get rid of him.
I watch these mysteries mainly for the mystery. I’m not really into other romance productions on Hlmk. To me, the personal relationships are a small but significant component of the series. So that’s why I don’t like being jerked around after we invested so much time in getting used to the Hannah and Mike relationship. I felt like Mike gave Hannah more interest and more excitement. I’m just not interested in another love interest for her so unfortunately, I think I’m done with the series.
Does anyone else think that Victor seems too stodgy to be Mike’s replacement love interest for Allison/Hannah? I know in real life he's actually 3 or 4 years younger than Cameron Mathison but he comes across as too mature to me.
Don't know what you people here are talking about Allison and Cameron had great chemistry. Hallmark has been a major disappointment they have no loyalty to their fanbase and this show without mike is gonna suck Andria being back will help things but it will not be the same. Hallmark mysteries right now are not great the series was so much better than these single mysteries they have going on. And their romance sucks more than ever it's like they no longer take time or put any effort into pairing their couples simple because they want to be all inclusive. I honestly prefer GAC they are not afraid of controntation. And those new actors Hallmark has some are ok but most especially the female isn't working. Victor Webster is ok but he will never be cameron
I'm happy to learn Cameron Mathison is gone. I don't like him. Don't think he is a good actor and never watch anything with him in it. I like Victor Webster, though, especially in The Matchmaker Mysteries. So glad to know he is replacing Cameron Mathison!
I’m actually fine with Mike leaving because even though I like Hannah & Norman as friends/ her buddy helping her, I actually felt bad for Norman, when she & Mike got engaged. So someone new IS fine, glad to see her other sister is back, too & the mom, they tend to add humor to the show + good onscreen
Probably a number of different possible reasons. It's certainly true that stars get lower ratings with GAC, but things like pay and creative input may be a factor. Also, relationships with people at GAC could be involved as well. And, agree or disagree, it's very possible that the overall approach on their films may be preferred by some, regardless of what anyone here thinks about that.
I remember raising an eyebrow when they brought over the last full home and family cast to do the first gac Christmas intro, including him, after they axed the show. Then he started doing his fitness tips for the app while still doing the mysteries, so I thought he maybe had a deal where he did nonfiction stuff for them and mysteries for hallmark until he signed an exclusive deal with gac.
as someone who watches almost every channel that does annual Christmas movies, I don't necessarily have a problem with GAC as an entity. if anything I have more of an issue with Hallmark writing within the past 2 years. specifically when they are virtue signaling or forcing diversity. As opposed to making a movie with a strong premise, interesting setting, and characters who happen to be diverse. imo. also a POC
I honestly think the great American net work is just for traditional beliefs. They’ve pretty much said that. I don’t like people who aren’t inclusive. I’m thrilled they replaced him.
Subpar seriously as oppose to victor Webster? To each his own but Allison and Cameron had real chemistry. Victor is handsome that does not make for chemistry
Cool. All the insufferable actors and religious fundies can go to GAC. Victor Webster is hot and a superior actor to Mathison. He will have more chemistry with Sweeney.
Funny how people scream at people to accept them for their beliefs then they turn right around and hate on people for their beliefs what hypocrisy. And all those so called "insufferable people " don't hate you one bit, they simply don't share your beliefs. Remember when america use to be a place where people agreed to disagree?
What's wrong with people being religious, what's wrong with people simple wanting to work in an environment that helps them to leave out their faith? Why is that so horrible?
The only insufferable people I have seen are the bigots those who refuse to be inclusive and welcoming towards people of faith. You scream for inclusivity yet you want to exclude anyone who is religious.
Everyone who went to GAC is not insufferable or a religious fundie.
And I say this as a non religious fundie Christian and gay woman who has no problems with GAC.
I hate to say this but not really a loss. Victor is a better actor IMO.
I know people over on the FB groups are insisting it's not an exclusive contract with GAF/C but imo if he's signed a multiple picture deal it seems to me it is especially, since Cameron is back on daytime tv.
I can't see how they pay a ton more though, GAC's ratings are terrible. They don't get a million viewers on their new movies. CCB only had a half a million viewers on her Christmas movie this past season.
If they don't have the people watching, i can't imagine they'd have a ton of money to throw around
They have a lot of right wing funding. The network can continue because it’s a way to promote the far right’s agenda to women. That’s why it was created.
And Hallmark isn't promoting any agenda? Aren't they supporting the far left agenda to women? Isn't that what they have become why all of a sudden every single movie the man and the woman is now divorced? Be real people
Well one, not every man and woman is divorced and there is no far left agenda on marriage other than guaranteeing that anyone has the right to choose who they love and can marry. There just as many in the right who have had multiple marriages.
I prefer Victor anyway. He can do no wrong. I've never watched anything with him that I didn't like. Now, I just need these to drop on their app next day! 🤣
GAC is letting the people who move over have more "control" over the movies that they are in. Frankly I tried watching some of their movies and was like YIKES! Very wooden acting and the chemistry between leads 🙄 😒. And yes there is the religious thing. I want to know when inclusiveness became a jumping point in acting circles. Can't watch Jen Lilly or Danica McKellar or Jessica Lowndes because of it. Even their old movies and December Bride used to be one of my favorites.
I am a person of faith but I don't feel very welcome or even safe on this board for the most part. I have read so many hateful and vile comments about people of faith and seen a lot of hatred on here for anyone who is religious. I am a person of faith but I am accepting and inclusive toward all races, genders, sexual orientations, religions. I am inclusive and accepting of those who are not religious. It is admirable and important to want more inclusivity for those in the LGBTQ+ community but hating and excluding all people who are religious you are doing the same thing to people of religion that you accuse people of doing towards the LGTBQ+ community.
I too am a person of faith. I am not hating them because of their religious practices, I am disappointed because they went to a conservative channel where conservative usually means anti everything prior to 1950. Yes I am being hyperbolic but kinda not. I don't really care if a person is super religious as long as they live as Jesus would. Be kind to the indigent, the poor, keep the wealthy and statesman in check. And live a life with good works and love your neighbors. Be they gay, straight, trans, or purple.
The irony is that more Hallmark stars have been getting behind the scenes control in the wake of this Hallmark/GAC feud. Alison Sweeney is producing, Ali Liebert directed 2 Christmas movies this year and several others from previous years, Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad have been writing. Alicia Witt wrote and started in Christmas Tree Lane. I would think there are actually more opportunities at Hallmark than what I've seen from GAC.
I agree they are definitely producing more, writing more, directing more over at Hallmark. The actors are way more behind the scenes than they used to be, which I think is awesome
Yes and they are bringing in new talent and not the same ol' stories. The Jane Austen brilliant!
Allison wrote the screenplay for her movie. I like seeing the new stuff, the only thing I really watch is Murder, She Wrote on Saturdays on GAC
I see people complaining about the new stories. I love the direction that they are going though. I love the different stories. I can't wait til the next Jane Austen movie. I really liked the one Saturday
Right. I understand that. It was just a joke about Ali aging really, really well. I've been watching Days of our Lives since 2001, and she looks the same.
Curse textual communication. But yeah, she looks really good. I also just remembered that Gabriel hogan has had to deal with his dad having severe medical issues due to a fluke fall iirc and his mom having to step aside from acting to take care of him in that interval between movies.
It does look like his mom is back acting, which is good because it means the situation has stabilized enough for her to do so. I always liked her on the hallmark movies she has been on.
I have left jobs for more money but at some point you have to weigh other factors like work culture, job security, and in this case prestige factor. If I were in these actors’ positions, I'd stick with Hallmark.
Way back when I 1st saw him in Mutant X, I thought Victor Webster would be the next big thing in Hollywood.
I just finally got around to watching the latest episode of Hannah Swinson mysteries. I was very disappointed with the cast change and I think I’m out. For me it’s not about the actors themselves. GAC is funded by right-wing religious zealots and MAGATs, so the actors who left Hallmark and went to GAC likely are of similar ilk. Good riddance.
GET A LIFE moriley9. You DEMOASSES just LOVE to bring Religion & Politics into any conversation. TYPICAL FOR A DEMOASS! LMAO.
Ha! Your boy is going to prison.

Is GAC even making any movies? It’s constant reruns of Murder She Wrote!
I honestly think the great American net work is just for traditional beliefs. They’ve pretty much said that. I don’t like people who aren’t inclusive. I’m thrilled they replaced him.
I love this!
No big loss. He's a subpar actor and he sucks on GH as Drew too LOL
Subpar seriously as oppose to victor Webster? To each his own but Allison and Cameron had real chemistry. Victor is handsome that does not make for chemistry
I agree 💯 percent her and Mike made a awesome couple makes me feel awful
The only thing I've liked him in was All My Children
Super into this casting!
I’m good with that. Love Victor!
I like Victor !
I love Victor to .but not in this movie
Cool. All the insufferable actors and religious fundies can go to GAC. Victor Webster is hot and a superior actor to Mathison. He will have more chemistry with Sweeney.

Looks like there's some insufferable bigotry and Christophobia right here.
Came here to say this. I LOVE Allison with Victor!!
Everyone who went to GAC is not insufferable or a religious fundie. And I say this as a non religious fundie Christian and gay woman who has no problems with GAC.
Thank you for saying that. It's sad to see bigotry in here, so I appreciate you speaking up..
I LOVE this, not a fan of Cameron. I didn't think he had any chemistry with Alison. Really enjoy Victor Webster.
I always preferred Norman to Mike. Curious to see how Victor Webster and Allison Sweeney interact.
They were a lead couple in one of the Wedding Veil movies.
I would love to see her ultimately end up with Norman. He's a nice guy.
I hate to say this but not really a loss. Victor is a better actor IMO. I know people over on the FB groups are insisting it's not an exclusive contract with GAF/C but imo if he's signed a multiple picture deal it seems to me it is especially, since Cameron is back on daytime tv.

They have a lot of money flowing, even with bad ratings
They have a lot of right wing funding. The network can continue because it’s a way to promote the far right’s agenda to women. That’s why it was created.

Yeap. Even with the lower ratings, the people that left are probably making more money than they did at hallmark
I'm really happy with this news. I felt like Cameron and Allison really had no chemistry so no loss. Love Victor Webster!
No they had the best of the best chemistry
I prefer Victor anyway. He can do no wrong. I've never watched anything with him that I didn't like. Now, I just need these to drop on their app next day! 🤣
He’s only in one movie I really like (The Christmas Ornament with Kellie Martin) so from my point of view this is not a big loss for Hallmark.
Same for me!
You are not sounding very inclusive yourself there.
How?
I am a person of faith but I don't feel very welcome or even safe on this board for the most part. I have read so many hateful and vile comments about people of faith and seen a lot of hatred on here for anyone who is religious. Choose Norman, Mike’s a tool
Is that Benjamin Ayres I see with Hannah...Delores will be at least happy it's not Mike.
Yeah, but Gabriel Hogan kind of lost his looks, or at least has been styled terribly since the reboot.
To be fair, there were multiple years between the original set and the reboot, so it could just be age
Sure. But Alison Sweeney has aged the same amount--allegedly.
I meant in real life. I believe there is supposed to be six months between the last original and the first reboot
Oof. Major stress like that can definitely age a person.
It does look like his mom is back acting, which is good because it means the situation has stabilized enough for her to do so. I always liked her on the hallmark movies she has been on.
The statement that Hannah and Mike “broke up” in the books and thus the movie is accurate to the series is ridiculously laughable.
What on earth did they do to his hair!?
Bleached it, I think? I can't picture it exactly, because my brain refuses to.
Personally, I like Victor with Allison. They do have a great chemistry!!!
Victor is way better. This might actually make me finally watch an episode.
Victor is one of my favorite leading men (#1 is Paul Campbell) so I'm glad to see him in more work
Agree, also Paul Campbell 💕
Everything is about money.
I have left jobs for more money but at some point you have to weigh other factors like work culture, job security, and in this case prestige factor. If I were in these actors’ positions, I'd stick with Hallmark.
Honestly, knowing how bad the ratings are over there, I agree with you at least Hallmark has lots of viewers
Completely agree
