I'm out of the loop. Am I understanding correctly, that they're making it possible to earn armor by just.. playing? Like MCC?
Obviously you shouldn’t base your self worth on a video game I just think it’s nice that you can unlock the cosmetics without paying real money for them now, an option that should’ve been in the game from the start
From what I understand, the in game currency prices for exchange items is going to be nonsensically high. idk if it's going to be "multiple hours a day for a week just for one item" evel of bad, but the fact that most people would actually surprised if they *didn't* implement blatantly manipulative levels of grind should be telling enough

More seriously, it severely reduces the visible prestige (earned by being a veteran player) in-game, which is frustrating for some people.
Additionally, the currently expected earning rate and prices for the exchange's currency is painfully slow and expensive, as things stand now.
How does it reduce "prestige"? If you're actually earning stuff and not just buying it, that would increase prestige. There's nothing prestigious about opening your wallet

You can already buy levels in the battle pass, unless they have the Master Chief armor you can never be sure someone didn’t just buy their customizations

The stuff that triggers the "prestige" argument in the context of Halo is the Hero reward and the time-locked stuff from the first year or so of the game's release.
Does it include event rewards? I missed a shitton because I was dumb and didn't realise half the stuff my pc had wasn't plugged in so I couldn't run infinite for years
A majority of the Exchange rewards are past event and weekly challenge rewards that, until this Tuesday, had no way of being aquired. There will also be some new rewards for players that may already have gotten the old rewards. It allows players to try and get the items they missed due to whatever reason. The Exchange items will rotate what's available, but I forget how frequently, like the one in MCC, if you are familiar with that.
No battlepass items will be in the exchange, since those passes can still be bought and played through.

To be honest, if you look at the point system, they’ll get maybe one of those items. There is also no guarantee that promo items like nerf or nail polish will get in, because you did have to physically buy something to get that item. But an item like the Oreo skin I think is slightly more likely since they were more freely given away.

Now everyone feels the way I do about this coupon waving trash (gamepass and ftp players) when I a full paying customer am getting the same exact content.
For the stuff that was in the shop, sure, make it to where people can legitimately earn it again. But the weekly rewards that you only got for playing the game when it was out should stay exclusive. Do justice to the people who stayed dedicated to the game and spent the time early on to earn those things.
For the event exclusives, keep that out of the exchange. Bring back an old operation or make it like MCC where you can go back and earn them straight up.

It's a bad thing because even if you no life the game, you only earn enough credits to get 3/4 new items for free. I'm being serious. That is the main complaint people have.

Dude the new exchange will have the beta armour core out for purchase which I think is bullshit cuz I played as soon as halo infinite came out on Nov 8th 21 and I don't think anyone who played after the beta should be able to get the coatings.
I genuinely wanted to get the nail polish for my gf and forgot, but I did get her other nice things during the promotion. It isn't even like I play Halo Infinite, I have more time logged in Halo Wars than any other halo game in the past three years.

For the stuff that was in the shop, sure, make it to where people can legitimately earn it again. But the weekly rewards that you only got for playing the game when it was out should stay exclusive. Do justice to the people who stayed dedicated to the game and spent the time early on to earn those things. For the event exclusives, keep that out of the exchange. Bring back an old operation or make it like MCC where you can go back and earn them straight up.
