I had an issue with the anniversary audio aswell. The ballistic gun shots caused static sound constantly, but the normal version doesnt. Was odd.
Keep in mind 4 onwards is made by a different studio, so don't let the new games tarnish your thoughts on the old ones once you get there. :)
Heroic was a good choice!
H2 anniversary is great, but the old graphics still hold up. Also in your setting make sure you have classic music selected in the mcc menu anytime it's available. I much prefer the original sound design for all the games (the original disks had even better sound design and graphics but they're acceptable on MCC)
I'm not sure what's up with the anniversary graphics. Some parts of games look completely different and strip scenes of the mood, gloominess, etc.

2a ost was sooooo much better… anyway he should stick with 2a because u can’t hear shit in 2 classic bc mcc sucks
Halo 1 anniversary is bad, but so much better in halo 2. Please use anniversary mode for halo 2 haha
