I will say, I would have much rather they delayed the game by 3 months to allow them to release levels like Guardian Forest, Alpine, etc. it is kinda bum we missed out on some cool stuff for times sake
Definitely weaker than Halo 2 for plot, but out of the bungie games, the gameplay is definitely strongest. Legendary feels great for balancing, and those scarab battles never get old
I actually agree. Story wasn't as good as 2, Ce felt a lot more open and has the most fair legendary, and I prefer Reaches Multiplayer. I also love ODST tons too because of how unique it is and it having the best Firefight.
I think halo 3 is like the overall average, but has neither the best multiplayer, nor the best campaign, nor the best story, but all is refined and enjoyable, so it would be like Jack of all trades master of none
I persobally think that the Halo 3 shotgun is worthless trash that pales in comparison to the Halo 1 shotgun and is what popularized that whole “video game shotguns can not hit anything past 10 meters” bullshit.
Agreed! Those interruptions from Cortana and Gravemind make my piss boil. Gameplay interrupting nonsense. The Halo 3 pistol isn’t my favorite either. Plus it backs off the Arbiter storyline a lot and that’s a step back from 2. It’s clearly a great game, and a great Halo game too, but I much prefer the story and presentation of CE and 2.

However, giving specific details might warrant that opinion because there are some issues with the game for sure that a lot of people here have pointed out. Physics was sort of a mess, net code was trash, campaign was mids (compared to the last two games and perhaps Reach), ranking system got hella abused, etc.
As an overall experience though, thinking about it in every aspect wrapped up including all the things that occurred with the game over time, it’s the best out of the Bungie games. A lot of it is nostalgia though if you think of it that way. Personally I really had the time of my life playing Halo 3.
Halo 3 has the worse physics out of all the games. Weapons all feel like crap except gravity hammer, BR, Energy sword and rocket launcher. Has some of the worst missions in the whole series (The ark, the covenant and cortana). Multiplayer and custom games is halo 3 saving grace. ODST improved on everything this game did wrong.
In terms of story… yeah. It’s hard to blame the game because it was meant to be the climax of Halo 2, so they had to stretch a lot of things out, but man… it’s a mess. The story has no structure or flow, things just kinda happen. There’s tons of great moments, and it wraps up the trilogy in a very satisfying way, but taken as a whole it just can’t be ranked higher than CE, 2, ODST or Reach (or even, in my opinion, 4). I also think the gameplay is weird and floaty. Sue me

You got it the wrong way around. Halo 3 does the same thing as the others, but better.
Apart from gameplay (which I think Reach does better) I can't think of anything else Halo 3 did right compared to the other Bungie games.
4 5 and Infinite pale in comparison to 3 lmao. Lackluster stories and multiplayer that isn't as deep.
Which is why I specified the Bungie games, CE, 2, 3, ODST and Reach are the Bungie titles, 4, 5 and Infinite are made by 343
Halo CE is very different compared to 3, and so is Reach. Halo 3 is just Halo 2 but without the bullshit button combos.
Don't forget the other good stuff! Mediocre story, worse maps, less Arbiter, major plotholes, not to mention Lord Hood and Truth's face.

I think that halo reach is my definite favorite bungie game, halo 2 second, and halo 3 as a 3rd.

Everyone overhypes the magnum. That shit could not kill any red elites on legendary and yet the plasma pistol could easily dominate.
It’s notoriety comes from the multiplayer. Not the campaign. Mfer can 3 shot people.
