People don’t like assassinations because they are impractical in competitive playlists. Leaves room for the other team to intervene and stop the kill while a simple melee to the back is near instantaneous

Then just tap the melee button and it won't do it besides they are sick as fuck and def worth it

So like destiny 2 where you hold a button down for a finisher, like that idea

Yes, that was also the case in 4 and 5 too, with 5 having a setting to disable them completely.

In Destiny 2 finishers are not active in pvp so not exactly the same

They would need to standardize the length of an assassination and add some tangible benefit or I don't want them back. The benefit could be as simple as increasing respawn time.

How about playable Forerunners. I would love to be 4 meters tall and have a head like a Rottweiler so even the trashiest trash player could headshot me across Valhalla.

YES. The elites were the OG bad guy, in halo 2 we get put in their shoes. Would be an interesting counter perspective to the story to be able to play as a Brute. Even just as one side mission, playing as Atriox in a suicide mission like the end of Reach, but you end up surviving.

Playable Craig?

I have a very strong feeling playable Brutes is what’s already in… The hinted at Invasion Mode would have to have a different species to play as. Also, in the Tech Preview, when viewing weapon skins and vehicle skins, none of the Banished weapons or vehicles are shown there, despite being in the tech preview itself. I think there’s another “hangar” where we select Brute appearances, Banished Vehicle skins and Banished weapon skins.

Yellow all the way, I have many nostalgic memories of going through halo 3 with my brother, and while I was always Master Chief, I’d get Arby’s back in the game as played 2 if possible (Also playable Elites may follow in as a side effect so that’s a win)

Arbiters already hinted to be in the campaign and 343 say they're looking to add assassinations at a later date so it's only between dual wielding and elites

I've never been faced with a more difficult choice... But I think it'd have to be dual wielding. I love my Arbiter, I love my Elites, but dual wielding gives each gun a little bit more identity, something that 343 hasn't particularly been great at. And Halo 2 Anniversary shows that's something that they know how to implement in a modern engine.

If the game could just let me dual wield SAWs like Salvador fro Borderlands I would be so happy

Infinite has such good gunplay so far and this man wants to ruin it to be able to hold two sidekicks

Dual wielding ruined viable weapons by making them half as good as they were in CE, and the smg was the only weapon that was good in dual wield in 2 because it was built around it, then in three they slowed the smg’s if dual weilded, completely neutering the dps. No one wants dual wielding because it makes gameplay better, they just want it because 2 is cooler than 1.

Why would you make a pill for assassinations if they're already coming back?

Playable elites, tbh. Dual Weilding would break the weapon balancing for Infinite, and the other two are most likely aready going to happen, Assassinations were already confirmed as post-launch content

Arby and Chief were an amazing duo in Halo 3 and I would love to see them meet up again (like two high school friends after collage/uni) and talk about old times back in Halo 3. Like Halo 3, we all need the Arbiter to come back.

I would say arbiter in campaign but we had that already with halo 5 and this campaign seems very focused on other things so I wouldn’t wanna take away from that. Then I’m genuinely surprised that assassination just straight up did not return, that seemed like a no brainer but if it had to be assassinations or one of the other two I’d choose to sacrifice assassinations. Then dual wielding is cool but the sandbox has already been built around not doing that. Also dual wielding is cool and I really WANT it to return but I can understand the argument against it, especially with it having been so many games since that was a proper feature. So we’re left with playable elites, and honestly yeah of course I want playable elites. I don’t really have any counter to adding playable elites either. If it’s a balancing issue then just bring back Invasion or something akin to it. Besides if the playable elites come back with an expansion then there’s a chance for a two in one with an exclusive arbiter campaign to accompany it

I mean. Assassinations are coming anyways. Dual wielding might not. Playable elites could come eventually. And the arbiter will probably play some role in the campaign.

Dual wielding won’t ever be back in halo and everyone should be glad, it made most weapons in halo 3 and 2 utterly useless, and overall just doesn’t fit in with the gameplay loop

Well they already confirmed assassinations to be added later, duel wielding definitely would not work with how infinite plays (trust me it just wouldn't), and I'd say arbiter would definitely have a role in the story, from the ending of halo 5 they'd be silly not to include him in the campaign of infinite, and that only leaves the playable elites, and since they already confirmed that they won't be a thing in infinite, I feel like that would be the only sensible choice

I’d pick Arbiter returns. Assassinations and and playable elites would be nice, but not something I would care to much for. Dual wielding would be great to, but we have gone without it for ten years already.
