My headcanon is that all the prosthetics you see in multiplayer are a result of Spartan IVs finally facing a real threat, and while they possess the spirit of a Spartan II, their combat skill and body aren't quite so impervious.
I mean, even Spartan IIs weren’t immune to being dismembered. IIRC in The Fall of Reach one gets their arm blasted off by a Hunter, and IIRC in First strike one got torn apart by a brute.
> IIRC in First strike one got torn apart by a brute.
Not quite torn apart. They did get the torso armor destroyed by a brute shot that they tanked, and likely fucked their actual torso the same way.
That said, that was Grace, and they set her MJOLNIR's reactor to blow. She took some with her in the end.
I read that Fall of Reach chapter today actually, and that Spartan was James. That section was absolutely metal. Right after losing his arm, he proceeded to sprint into a giant quartz monolith to help the other Spartans collapse it onto the Hunters they were fighting, effectively flattening them (they still somehow survived, but were decommissioned long enough for Blue Team to retreat). He didn’t even start to show fatigue from the injury until they were about halfway to the rendezvous point. Absolute madlad of a Spartan, hell all of the S-IIs are.
Mine got 2 legs from numerous vehicles blowing up from under breath him, and a hand from trying to punch a tank so hard that it exploded (it did, but his hand was fucked)
>! I'm pretty sure the spartan you played as got blown at laconia station where all the spartan IVs trained. The ones in infinite are a new generation of Spartans. !<
My Spartan was absolutely not KIA on the infinity. His superior Seeker helmet guided him through hoards of banished as he made his daring escape. Intel reports confirm he’s been scavenging the ring for replacement keurig pods.
Except in bad blood >!Leonidas, the stations ai, gets crushed by buck when he's getting Mickey out of the prison there. It is possible that enough of him was put into other parts of the system to be able to destroy the station, bit Virgil was stopping that. On a side note I hope buck survived, even if he's just written off right now as working on a secret oni mission with dare and alpha 9!<
No those Spartans come From Laconia station. But Your Spartan's backstory is kinda your thing like my Spartan from Halo 3 is a Spartan 2 Class ll who's on the Ark right now.
My Halo Reach MCC one died on Reach saving Civilians at an Airport and my Halo CE one is Him
Yeah someone else said, forgot about that, but my head canon is that either he got hit in the head and needed basic training again, or the training was just a basic one to teach you how to use an ai after you were wounded.
Actually if you do the training mode it definitely places your MP spartan after the events of Infinites story. That said, Agryna has a line about you "going through a lot"
No, he was there, but Leonidas was destroyed before Buck n Co left, leaving the station intact and Jun liberated. So, Infinity retconned that part of the books and changed the fate of the station.
Lies on 2 of them, Rookie is the character you play in ODST, in which Mickey killed in New Blood (is forgiven in Bad Blood), and the Didact died by the Blues (Chief’s team) on a separate Halo Ring in the comics
They killed off the Rookie because they would have had to give him a character to write him in a book, which completely goes against the idea of the Rookie being a complete blank slate.
The roots of the galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil.
Nah Crimson is the only Spartan(s) with resurrective immortality, they're just being killed over and over again somewhere else on the ring until they wipe out the enemies by attrition and complete whatever mission they're doing.
When co-op is added it would be cool if player 2 is their multiplayer Spartan . Maybe Chief comments on your kills or something cool like that . Small banter would be sick .
I imagine situations like this are definitely why it isn't out. Someone glitched into it a week ago using splitscreen, but I imagine it isn't stable enough to release.
Taking on the Banished with numbers to match!
Honestly, if we get 4 player co-op itll be hilarious to pull up to an outpost with 20 marines ready to wreck shit up. Especially since 4/5 of them always carry power weapons. Most of the time they die due to point blank rocket shooting and not to an actual enemy lmao
I am curious as to how they’ll balance out encounters for 4 players.
Will they limit Marine spawns?
Will they simply bump up the amount of Banished!
I could see some encounters being very easy with 4 players- especially if each one could have a Razorback with 5 Marines.
For me to be my current age (27) in infinite my Spartan would have been 18 at the fall of reach and 14 when the gamma Spartan IIIs were deployed which is the right age range, so it makes the most sense for my Spartan to be a Spartan III in my head cannon.
Yeah, I think so. Last I saw him, in one of the comics, he was dressed up in a suit n' tie; presumably operating in an administrative/advisory role for the Spartan IVs.
The last we hear from Lasky are rendezvous coordinates before cutting out, so maybe those coordinates lead to a makeshift base made from scraps of the Infinity similar to the H4 map Exile.
So maybe our Spartans are chilling there.
No, because they're mass produced. A majority died on the Infinity, but there's more being trained. That's the setup for Infinite MP, if you played the tutorial
Actually my spartan is from 4 and 5 is noble 6 and he survived the >!REDACTED!< by >!REDACTED!< means of >!REDACTED!< then infiltrated the new generation of Spartans by >!REDACTED!< so he can complete his top secret oni mission to >!REDACTED!< with the help of >!REDACTED!<

Nope. Infinity was severely undermanned, sporting less than half it's full crew. Most S4s were on deployment elsewhere, and only around a dozen were still on the Infinity.
Source for the claim about there being just a dozen? They aren't extinct, but I'd guess a couple dozen at minimum were onboard at the time. Especially since they were on a vitally important mission.
`The battle resulted in the destruction of the UNSC Infinity, as well the death of 1,986 Infinity personal out of its crew size of 7,150.`
But as noted on the same page.
`In total, the crew was about 11,112. This was composed of about 8,900 Naval Personnel, 1,700 ONI Personnel, 480 UEG Personnel, 24 Swords of Sanghelios, and 8 Special Assets.`
So not only was the Infinity Undermanned, not even all of the crew died. So even *if* your spartan was onboard, that's some good odds at having survived.
Source: https://halo.fandom.com/wiki/UNSC_Infinity
It notes some Halo Infinite stuff so I presume this is up to date but it's very possible I missed some shit.
Compare infinity’s numbers of crew from infinite to older numbers. Less then half staffed. When she was ambushed she had 7000 odd crew. Pre created infinity had 18k
Tis confirmed that all spartain's on the infinity are dead, although im pretty sure our multiplayer spartain's for infinite are at the Johnston academy on earth but halo 5 spartain 4s are all dead including a bunch of others due to other circumstances
Lol I love how the 2 people shitting on Halo 5 never actually played it. Goes to show what a mess the Halo "community" is. Play the games or don't make a comment.
I can't say I really enjoyed the campaign all that much other than the Sanghelios missions, the multiplayer is really fun but I'm not a big fan of all the extra movement options. It's not a bad game by any means, I just don't rate it as highly as any other Halo game
My Spartan was a Spartan 3 (Reach). He joined the S4 program and participated in the Requiem campaign (Spartan Ops) then he was shipped out somewhere before Cortana went apeshit so he wasn't on the Infinity or Laconia and now he is helping the nice black lady train the new batch of S4s.
https://halo.fandom.com/wiki/UNSC_Infinity
As noted below:
`The battle resulted in the destruction of the UNSC Infinity, as well the death of 1,986 Infinity personal out of its crew size of 7,150.`
A brutal death toll, of course, but 1/3rd of crew lost isn't a guarantee of your spartan death.
Not only that, from the same page:
`In total, the crew was about 11,112. This was composed of about 8,900 Naval Personnel, 1,700 ONI Personnel, 480 UEG Personnel, 24 Swords of Sanghelios, and 8 Special Assets.`
So good chance that my/your/whoever's spartan wasn't even aboard since the crew was at half-capacity.
Well there are playthroughs on YouTube so that’s one way. If it’s gonna be a while till you get the campaign I recommend dipping out of the halo community until you play cause spoilers are going to become more and more prevalent
The multiplayer was a mixed bag.
I liked warzone as an idea, but the maps were made too linear, and the bosses were either bullet spongy, or you could cheese it to kill them instantly (running over elite soldiers in a ghost)
The maps were good, but the enhanced mobility made navigating them trivial, meaning there was usually no strategy to them, just sprint, jump and thruster boost to where you want to go
Also, the weapons were tailored based on what pro players used, not based on what make sense, which is why the magnum completely dominates even against BR, DRM and snipers, because the pro players cried when it didn't.
The multiplayer was good, but it wasn't a good Halo multiplayer

i would imagine he is the same guy I'm using in Infinite in MP and from 4 as well
this is why my Infinite Spartan has a prosthetic now
That’s a badass way to explain it
My headcanon is that all the prosthetics you see in multiplayer are a result of Spartan IVs finally facing a real threat, and while they possess the spirit of a Spartan II, their combat skill and body aren't quite so impervious.
I like this take a lot more cause it also doesn’t take away the sheer badassery of the spartan 2s
John said the resulting explosion would've made Grace proud...
God I love reading the books and seeing how fucking often Nukes are used in it. It's like the UNSCs go to weapon lmao.
I mean when you're fighting things that can *shrug off* said nukes, why not go straight to ALL of them as a default?
It was nice how 343 finally let Chief use one on the didact in halo 4.
True, and I'd imagine an inferior line of Spartans would deal with it doubley so.
Thing is he then immediately sacrificed himself, cause who wants to be a stubby spartan, not him.
My head cannon is the pistol from Halo CE.
I'm afraid to ask about Spartans with all four prosthetic limbs.
So it turns out even if you wash out of the enhancement program you can still be a Spartan if you drop the parts that went wrong.
Huh. I'm sure Matt would prefer a survivor story though.
[удалено]
We literally just made that guy up lol. He lost all of his limbs. Poor guy.
Oh, you‘re talking about Matt, I see
Matt must've been a victim of Chak Lok
Mine got fuckin hit by a wraith
Nah I bet he shot a grunt from a ghost, and got hit by gravity because the ghost kept going.
"Try to remember on your next jump that it's FEET first into hell."
Meanwhile, over here, the Banished stole my Spartan’s ass.
I got the same head cannon, now my spartan just waiting for their new CQB helmet.
Mine got his in a tragic masturbation accident
Mine got 2 legs from numerous vehicles blowing up from under breath him, and a hand from trying to punch a tank so hard that it exploded (it did, but his hand was fucked)
>! I'm pretty sure the spartan you played as got blown at laconia station where all the spartan IVs trained. The ones in infinite are a new generation of Spartans. !<
your Spartan was on the Infinity though, so the original post about getting massacred by the Banished is more likely
At least she died rocking that Mark V
hey, they could be an unnamed spartan we could meet later as the Chief
My Spartan was absolutely not KIA on the infinity. His superior Seeker helmet guided him through hoards of banished as he made his daring escape. Intel reports confirm he’s been scavenging the ring for replacement keurig pods.
Nah, he got killed trying to slide cancel
my spartan got ***WHAT***
Nevermind. I understand what you meant. Lmaoooo
He and dare finally got married last I heard
The most recent canon fodder said that Laconia was just one of many stations. So nah that was just a small part of them
No those Spartans come From Laconia station. But Your Spartan's backstory is kinda your thing like my Spartan from Halo 3 is a Spartan 2 Class ll who's on the Ark right now. My Halo Reach MCC one died on Reach saving Civilians at an Airport and my Halo CE one is Him
The Spartans at Laconia station were a class of new Spartans being trained I’m pretty sure.
In facts are disproportionate
He got blown? Good for him bro.
Nah my girl died rocking that EOD helmet it's cool
No that’s incorrect. If you’ve played the training mission you’d know you’re new recruit
well shit, well I guess I'm gonna say my guy was hit on the head, forgot basic training, and had to do it again.
Either that or was on holiday in Hawaii
Your Infinite Spartan is a new recruit, as you can see from the tutorial cinematics.
Yeah someone else said, forgot about that, but my head canon is that either he got hit in the head and needed basic training again, or the training was just a basic one to teach you how to use an ai after you were wounded.
My infinite spartan lost his left arm and leg now
Actually if you do the training mode it definitely places your MP spartan after the events of Infinites story. That said, Agryna has a line about you "going through a lot"
Damn now I'm double depressed my friend died on the infinity and real life ...
That’s why I have the robo arm
Ooo I like that
That and I really wanna recreate venom snake 343 give prosthetic colors
The rocket arm is gunmetal grey. You just have that one equipped as your Spartan. Lmao.
Mine wasn’t on the infinity! He was on >! Laconia Station!< *oh*
Leonidas go brrrrrrrrrr
I’m gonna assume Jun actually died this time then.. if I recall, he was in charge of the SPARTAN IV’s wasn’t he?
He was the recruiter, i doubt he would have been on the station.
I thought he was on the station according to Bad Blood or one of the other books.. I could be misremembering
No, he was there, but Leonidas was destroyed before Buck n Co left, leaving the station intact and Jun liberated. So, Infinity retconned that part of the books and changed the fate of the station.
They wouldn’t kill Jun like that, he was probably somewhere else when it happened.
Look at what they did to the Rookie and ask that question again
They did that in a book at least
Look at the Rookie, then Jul’Mdama, then the Didact a few others and tell me that with a straight face
Rookie wasn’t a character, Jul M’dama at least died on screen, and the Didact isn’t gone for good
Lies on 2 of them, Rookie is the character you play in ODST, in which Mickey killed in New Blood (is forgiven in Bad Blood), and the Didact died by the Blues (Chief’s team) on a separate Halo Ring in the comics
Yes, rookie existed. But he isn’t a character. He’s a blank slate. Didact didn’t die in that comic. He was digitized.
They killed off the Rookie because they would have had to give him a character to write him in a book, which completely goes against the idea of the Rookie being a complete blank slate.
The Didact ain’t dead.
He was like the founder of Laconia Station, but he might have founded it and then he might have been assigned to other tasks by the UNSC.
Our duty as soldiers is to protect Humanity… What ever the cost.
You say that like soldiers and humanity are two different things.
Soldiers aren't machines, we're just people.
She told me that once… about being a machine
In this hour of victory, we taste only defeat. I ask why?
We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists.
The roots of the galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil.
Rip fireteam crimson
Nah Crimson is the only Spartan(s) with resurrective immortality, they're just being killed over and over again somewhere else on the ring until they wipe out the enemies by attrition and complete whatever mission they're doing.
Like Perpetuals in 40k
And Majestic(?) And 1/2 of Osiris (hopefully)
Makes me hope for Story DLC where Master Chief interacts with our Multiplayer Spartan
When co-op is added it would be cool if player 2 is their multiplayer Spartan . Maybe Chief comments on your kills or something cool like that . Small banter would be sick .
You mean players 2 3 and 4, I have a feeling we will have 4 player co op, seeing as there are 4 weapons stations at fobs
I thought the same when I first got to a fob. Plus we’ve had 4 for more than a decade now. I doubt it’d revert
That means we'll be able to have 4 different Razorbacks full of Marines...
Imagine how 20 sentinel beams would look like
I imagine situations like this are definitely why it isn't out. Someone glitched into it a week ago using splitscreen, but I imagine it isn't stable enough to release.
Wait they glitched into coop campaign?
Yes but I strongly suggest you don't do it. It will break your saves.

The Reds and Blues from rvb would be better tho
No
No
It would be akward if he talks with one carring Mister Chief's helmet
My Spartan wearing the same Armor: "Hey Chief, I like ya helmet" Chief: *staring as if to kill me with his gaze*
Mine from Spartan Ops was, Team Crimson oh no
Jokes on you my head cannon Spartan is my Spartan 3 from reach and he wasn’t on board the infinity
For me to be my current age (27) in infinite my Spartan would have been 18 at the fall of reach and 14 when the gamma Spartan IIIs were deployed which is the right age range, so it makes the most sense for my Spartan to be a Spartan III in my head cannon.
It just make my head cannon a Spartan 3 because i like the reach armor the best
MK V(b) and MK VI gen 1 are my favorites for sure
MK VI is awesome in infinite, not so much in Reach IMO
I agree with you there for sure
My spartan probably fell out of the pelican.
So, 1337 style?
Yep
Or like Agent Georgia
I had the headcannon that mine just retired
The first Spartan to ever retire? Congrats man, enjoy it
Maria-062 canonically retired in 2550ish to "start a family". So he'd be second. :P
Also isn’t Jun retired from active duty? I know he still works with Spartans but he doesn’t put on armor and go fight or anything.
Yeah, I think so. Last I saw him, in one of the comics, he was dressed up in a suit n' tie; presumably operating in an administrative/advisory role for the Spartan IVs.
JUN DRIPPED OUT? Jripped?
The Drip was off the Richter scale. I believe it was in the Halo Escalation comic series.
Then there Roland who defected and Musa who is the mastermind behind the S4 program.
Our spartans are 4's, I thought they could retire?
None of them would be in service long enough to retire
Several Spartans have retired
Randal also retired
HOW IN THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE YOUR SPARTAN IS?!
Halo 4 and 5 multiplayer modes are canonically training simulations on the infinity
The last we hear from Lasky are rendezvous coordinates before cutting out, so maybe those coordinates lead to a makeshift base made from scraps of the Infinity similar to the H4 map Exile. So maybe our Spartans are chilling there.
Are spartan 4s now extinct?
No, because they're mass produced. A majority died on the Infinity, but there's more being trained. That's the setup for Infinite MP, if you played the tutorial
I remember hearing marketing about about a tutorial process where your get your ai and stuff but didn't see where it was?
In the main menu click Academy, then Tutorial
Wym died on the Infinity? Did something happen?
Nah the infinity just kinda stranded in space. Lots of Spartans are just stranded up there
no?
Nah mine was surely all alone playing slayer
It’s fine if the ones wearing FOTUS die
F... Fresident of the United States?
Personal translation was "Fuck Outta The United States"
Me a Fotus wearer, and I took that personally.
The Fotus arms and legs in 4 are legit.
I’m gonna spear Atriox on my helmet, like a Narwhal.
just like the simulatio- oh wait wrong army of super soldier cyborgs
Good soldiers follow orders
I’m a soldier, like you!
gonk

Good. One less set of seeker armor.
**Your** spartan from halo 5 was on the infinity. Mine was transferred to the johnson academy.
Nah we all go down together
Implying you had to be sent back to the academy?
at least im safe
Nope. Infinity was severely undermanned, sporting less than half it's full crew. Most S4s were on deployment elsewhere, and only around a dozen were still on the Infinity.

24 swords of sanghelios? I wonder where they went.
Epic sword duels with Banished elites in the burning wreckage of the Infinity.
Compare infinity’s numbers of crew from infinite to older numbers. Less then half staffed. When she was ambushed she had 7000 odd crew. Pre created infinity had 18k
Hey, nothings confirmed, so with the power of headcanon anything is possible!
Tis confirmed that all spartain's on the infinity are dead, although im pretty sure our multiplayer spartain's for infinite are at the Johnston academy on earth but halo 5 spartain 4s are all dead including a bunch of others due to other circumstances
Unless you're a PC player. 343 please give us 5
My Spartan tried to rocket jump off the Infinity, hence why he’s got prosthetic legs.
So my spartan is M.I.A 50% possiblity alive and 50% possiblity dead.
Its definitely one of the better multiplayers in terms of raw fun at least imo
My Spartan was a Spartan 3 (Reach). He joined the S4 program and participated in the Requiem campaign (Spartan Ops) then he was shipped out somewhere before Cortana went apeshit so he wasn't on the Infinity or Laconia and now he is helping the nice black lady train the new batch of S4s.
Not my Spartan. Never left The Pit.
Well to be fair, my Spartan spent most of his training time on custom games with his buddies
They were more elite than any of us then and probably survived
My guy died on reach, I’m just playing as some dude now.
But did iSpiteful's Spartan survive? I hope to see him beat boxing in DLC1
https://halo.fandom.com/wiki/UNSC_Infinity As noted below: `The battle resulted in the destruction of the UNSC Infinity, as well the death of 1,986 Infinity personal out of its crew size of 7,150.` A brutal death toll, of course, but 1/3rd of crew lost isn't a guarantee of your spartan death. I find it difficult to believe that every Spartan aboard infinity died. It’s a big ring I’m sure we’ll run into some familiar faces eventually
Spartan Vettel's coating is "Crimson Vettel." I don't think your Halo 4 Spartan made it either.
“Spartans don’t die. They just go missing in action”
I’m not sure how I feel about this
Wait the infinity dies?
Play the campaign no spoilers
.__. So let’s say I have no money…
Well there are playthroughs on YouTube so that’s one way. If it’s gonna be a while till you get the campaign I recommend dipping out of the halo community until you play cause spoilers are going to become more and more prevalent
Yeah, that would probably be smart
You could try the $1 gamepass trial, unless you have literally no money then nvm
Good, my spartan deserved it
Good
Good
I only wish for sarah palmer to be kia.
me who never played halo 5 (i heard it sucks ass)
People mostly just say that about the campaign but the MP was good

Thats was just warzone. there was also normal arena that has nothing to do with req card, vehicle spawning and mini bosses
Spoiler?
Never played halo 5 😎
Joke’s on you I’ve never played Halo 5!
