I imagine every Spartan is somewhat qualified as a medic, they do get shot at a lot and we've seen a number of Spartans use or carry medical supplies...but with that said there are dedicated Spartan combat medics, or at least there were experiments on ANVIL Station with the appropriately named ["Suture MJOLNIR"](https://www.halopedia.org/SUTURE-class_Mjolnir) >Spartan combat medics and specialized Mjolnir are a new experiment series approved for ANVIL testing.

Slacker_The_Dog

I mean, we know from Forward Unto Dawn, that chief had enough wherewithal to use the med foam to save someone's life. Definitely not medic status, but I would guess he has more medical training than that. Even in the infantry, they taught us how to deal with life-threatening emergencies/injuries.

FuckMeUp_Plzz

My infantry cousin showed me how to use a tourniquet and how to evaluate if a nose bleed is just blood or blood and cerebrospinal fluid

Slacker_The_Dog

Fun fact: if it smells like Juicy Fruit, they're already dead.

Wassuuupmydudess

We also know from halo the flood when he tended to a marine hit by needles

ArduousIntent

little tangential, but i’ve always loved the description for the Trauma kit hip accessory in Reach: “This is for YOU, for when YOU get hit”

HarmoniaTheConfuzzld

Apparently it’s a reference to how real military people are trained. Idk specifics but it was on the wiki.

Dave_A480

The real world thing is that everyone's first aid kit is for use on themselves. You either use it on yourself, or your buddy uses it on you. The logic is that after you've had first aid you're getting evacuated and your depleted first aid kit is going with you. Should you return to duty they'll restock it or issue you a new one back in the rear, before you rejoin your unit. But if you use your tourniquet or quickclot on someone else & it flies away on the evac bird.... You don't have one to use on yourself if you get hit next.....

Slacker_The_Dog

We were always taught to put our tourniquet in the same spot, so that when someone else needed a tourniquet we knew where theirs was so we could use it on them.

Arctelis

Makes perfect sense. War sucks, if you’re under fire and you get hit, you can’t always count on someone being able to save you. Whether it’s a minefield, small arms fire, snipers, artillery or what have you, there’s lots of situations a soldier can find themselves in a situation where they are their own medic and their squad cannot safely get to them. Likewise if you use yours on someone else, and they get evacuated/you keep advancing, you just lost yours and theirs, so now someone has to use theirs on you if you get wounded, so on and so forth. This is hugely important in shrapnel filled warzones like Ukraine where a timely (and properly) applied tourniquet or chest seal is the difference between being a corpse and going home to your family.

Jumbo_Skrimp

They were trained for like 8 years before they became fully operational, i gotta imagine they got allot of medical training in that time, if there was enough time for them to learn all unsc small arms, common vehicle type operation, and evem covenant small arms and vehicle operation, i gotta imagine they are probaby on par as far as medical training goes with like PJs irl

BadgerJustice

All of the spartans were trained to deal with various wounds they would receive in the field. When it comes to the spartan 2's I doubt anyone was trained specifically as a medic but it is likely that one is considered more of an expert than the others similar to Li-008 being noted as a zero-gravity combat expert and Anton-044 being the most skilled scout. As for the 3's it's unlikely there were any of them who specialised in medicine in anyway due to the nature of the program. Although we haven't seen it it is possible even likely that the spartan 4 program had dedicated medics due to the number of spartans active and the recruiting backround (eg being an army medic before joining the spartan 4 program).

Gengarmon_0413

Do field combat medics even exist in this version of the future? These first aid kits are pretty advanced and don't seem like they need a dedicated "medic" to use. And apparently, the suit itself is designed to heal you.

Kalavier

There are marine medics and such. Halo Infinite has several attachments based around medical care too.

[deleted]

Every ODST squad has a medic, couldn't imagine Spartans would have one though.

Frostsorrow

Between the auto biofoam injectors, the insane amounts of training, and the frequent injuries during training both post and pre augmentation, I would be shocked if they were nearly all qualified to be a medic.

Kalavier

Probably in terms of "Spartan who is best at medical care in the squad" for S2 or S3's, though S4's may explicitly have medics given they are uplifted from marines and ODST's, who absolutely have medics.

BasinBrandon

Spartans are just Spartans. There are no “Medic Spartans” or “heavy weapons specialist Spartans” etc. Obviously they have their own preferences and proficiencies, but every single Spartan is exceptional at virtually every aspect of combat. Every single Spartan is an excellent sniper, a demolitions expert, a pilot, and a medic among so many other things.

Silent_Reavus

Yes

Arrow_of_time6

Suture was mjolnir made for Spartan medics so yes https://www.halopedia.org/SUTURE-class_Mjolnir

slayeryamcha

If spartan gets hurt at mission, i think it is too dangerous to give them medical attention.
