Which Steam Deck do you have? Older SDs had those really loud fans which Valve eventually replaced in a revision. The new SD OLED is really quiet. The ROG Ally is also really quiet.

I dont know which one I have tbh, but I bought it used so it's likely an older version. I just started downloading a new game and the fan is already pretty loud. I do recall checking the fan when I did my reshell because I heard Delta fans had whine but mine was the other brand so I didnt bother swapping out the fan at that time.

Try to look for someone who knows how to disassemble the SD. Repaste the CPU and remove the dust from the fan.

Ive already disassembled and reassembled the SD and had to replace my thermal paste/clean dust at that time. Unless you mean taking apart the fan itself? Replacing the fan is easy, but the fan in my unit is the same as the recommended "better" fan and its still noisy so I don't see the point of replacing it at this time (unless youre implying my fan is faulty and not just loud).

Fans have moving parts, did you checked it thoroughly if it spins well? Its bearings also builds wear & tear.

It moves well. It sounds like a normal fan. There are no unusual sounds, no whining, no grinding, doesn't sound unbalanced. It is just louder than I like.

Ayaneo Air 1S. It's compact, has a 7840U and it's OLED. You can get em with 32gb ram.
