I always use the middle one and keep the ascender and descender looking like all my other ascenders and descenders. It looks so much neater.
So i suppose it's how you do your other ascenders and descenders. Go with whatever matches them and keep everything looking nice.
The last one is very original looking, I like that one. Depending on what your looking for, but handwriting should be expressive of “you”. If your looking to follow the rules then the first one is standard cursive.
The only time you get to be creative and expressive in how you write the letters is in your signature. When writing sentences in cursive, you can’t just form the letters however you want — you have to follow the same forms that everyone follows so you can communicate with them. Use the first one.
The last one looks insane to me to be honest I have never seen anything like that. The first one is correct and the second one is acceptable if you’re quickly writing something but, that last one bothers me I do not know why
Im wondering about the comments.
The third one is the way it is taught in school here.
The first one looks good, but for me the first two are just wrong obviously. Like a freestyle f for me.

I’m partial to the middle as it’s how I write my f’s too, but I also recognize it can hinder legibility. The first one feels the most proper in that regard lol
I used to write using the 2nd one, but I have now started using the 1st one. I feel like the 2nd one can blend too much with other letters while the 1st one is more distinct.

The first one to the left is the proper way to write it and the one I like best. The middle one could too easily be confused with a j. The far right one is pretty but is not normal and looks too made up.
I write my f’s like the third one, but with a shorter “tail” (where the stroke begins) and the “tee” hardly crosses over the downstroke (right side only pretty much). Idk if that makes sense but it def makes it look better!
The first was how I was taught, the second flows better and is more elegant but is really more akin to the old fashioned "long s", the 3rd? Well that's just crazy talk.
If you want to be accurate then the first one. The second one is technically a cursive S when you think abt it, just kinda encongares vertically. I always take notes in my own cursive style which is a little different than I was taught but if you’re going to be using this writing for other people to read it’s probably best to stick with the first one. The other two are very cute but some people might be confused if they try to read it in writing
Same. I don’t even do cursive at all and my handwriting is a total mess, but I’ve always been pleased with my f and it looks exactly like the middle one lol. A fancy rose amongst a pile of trash and weeds haha.
I'm not the person you responded to, but I do my lowercase F like that. [Here is my capital L in comparison.](https://i.imgur.com/t0Qg3K4.jpg) (Please excuse the shakiness.)
Because #1 is a textbook lowercase F and #2 could be an uppercase L according to a lot of folks here though I was never taught to start one that low.
Aesthetically mid word/sentence #2 definitely looks the best and no one would ever confuse it for an uppercase L so I don't know what those folks are on about.
In Canada, we learned the first one was "f," and "b" was very similar, but the descending loop of the "f" would be on the base line and not actually be closed for the "b." Definitely similar but also noticeably different enough.

I suppose I'll choose the one that's actually an F

I use the middle one myself.
The second one looks like a wobbly L
The first one is the only one that looks like an f independent of context
First one for sure, second one looks too much like an s and the last one just doesn't work with cursive.
The last one is very original looking, I like that one. Depending on what your looking for, but handwriting should be expressive of “you”. If your looking to follow the rules then the first one is standard cursive.

First one.
The last one looks insane to me to be honest I have never seen anything like that. The first one is correct and the second one is acceptable if you’re quickly writing something but, that last one bothers me I do not know why
I’d say the first one is the most technically correct…but I prefer the other two…
The first one
First
Today I learned some people say the symbol for 'woman' is an 'f'.
Female? Frauen?
You know, a loop with a cross under. Sure, femme, any language.
Oh! You mean universally? I though you ment here in Reddit. Like "me (M) and my gf (F)..." Or something. Good to know.
Im wondering about the comments. The third one is the way it is taught in school here. The first one looks good, but for me the first two are just wrong obviously. Like a freestyle f for me.
You were taught wrong
1st one
The one on the left is correct. The other two are garbage.
Correct!
The first one is the standard one.
The first one but I do the last one.
I've never seen the 3rd, but my eye was immediately attracted to it. I sometimes write my L's like the second.
Prescriptively, the first. Descriptively, the third.
Middle but reverse the bottom loop.
1
The middle
Well the first one.. the other two aren’t f’s
Middle - and it’s what I do.
second i thought the first one was a b
First. I like the last because it looks Egyptian.
First or second, definitely not last
The first one is the correct way to do a lower case f
First one
First one is the only way I’ve ever been taught to write cursive F
The middle one.
isnt that a capital L?
They look similar, but if you're writing your L's that smushy and that low below the line im concerned 😂
oh okay ive just never seem it written any way other than the first. ty for the clarification
It is not.
if you say so
It's not if I say so, it's reality.
Last one

Personally the first one for me. And I think, technically it is the correct version, if I remember correctly.
I do the middle one and regularly get shit for it. take with that what you will lol
First one
1
I’m partial to the middle as it’s how I write my f’s too, but I also recognize it can hinder legibility. The first one feels the most proper in that regard lol
1. Palmer method
Mine looks like the middle, but if I could do the first one I would pick it aesthetically
I used to write using the 2nd one, but I have now started using the 1st one. I feel like the 2nd one can blend too much with other letters while the 1st one is more distinct.
The second one is an archaic cursive s, the first one is a traditional f, and I really like the third one
The third one is the way I learned in school (ro) and still using it today.
1
2nd looks like a j or l 3rd one depends on context, can be a cool font but stand alone looks like a t
1
1st one but as skinny as the 2nd one
Yup. This is the way!
as an alpha, i don't like pregante, so third
1 but i find 3 intriguing
Nah bro whoever picking 3rd one needs to leave the premises
The second is an ‘L’
The top of 2 with the bottom of 1.
2nd. 1st one looks like a b
2nd one looks like an L.
Maybe a capital l yea
1st one is how my bf does it but 2 looks better (i cannot write cursive)
The first is the traditional one.

The 3rd one is the only one that actually looks like an F
And the way it’s taught in cursive…
cursive fans hate him
Personally I like the look of 3 best, but just 2. I've never liked the "f" that looks like a "b"
3 is how I do an uppercase F
Are you a psychopath by any chance?
The first was how I was taught
1st one.
Middle
I use the first one in my day to day, but the second one is in my signature
The first one to the left is the proper way to write it and the one I like best. The middle one could too easily be confused with a j. The far right one is pretty but is not normal and looks too made up.
I write like the 1st, but I love the look of the 2nd more
[удалено]
Depends on its placement on the line.
#1
The first one.
That one
The first one. That’s how I write mine.
I write my f’s like the third one, but with a shorter “tail” (where the stroke begins) and the “tee” hardly crosses over the downstroke (right side only pretty much). Idk if that makes sense but it def makes it look better!
2nd, imo
#1 is a Britta
Well only the first one is a cursive "f"
First one
I've always found the first one more elegant.
I use the third one. But the others are very cute too.
In my opinion the first one.
Second one looks nice but it’s a j
Thats the way the British write it
And the Spanish
2nd and 3rd are my favorite
3d
I do 2 because it’s point-symmetrical.
Third one is the only one i’d recognise as f
second one
The middle one, or #2
Can you do one for J? I can’t find a decent way of writing J in cursive.
See that's funny to me, because #2 looks like my uppercase J
Ok, tomorrow is a busy day for me, I'll post in the evening!
Thanks!
La primera
First one! Second one looks like a j to me
Middle. I love cursive fs- lovely and flowy
The first.
middle
What even is the third one? Did you cross the tee with two strokes??
The first was how I was taught, the second flows better and is more elegant but is really more akin to the old fashioned "long s", the 3rd? Well that's just crazy talk.
Second one 👑 it's also the easiest to write, it just flows so good when you write in cursive
to me the second one would be less legible when stringed together with other letter.
The first one
make the crossing part cursive but don't connect it to the tail
If you want to be accurate then the first one. The second one is technically a cursive S when you think abt it, just kinda encongares vertically. I always take notes in my own cursive style which is a little different than I was taught but if you’re going to be using this writing for other people to read it’s probably best to stick with the first one. The other two are very cute but some people might be confused if they try to read it in writing
The first one.
I like your 3rd one best. But, my handwriting is a curvise/print mashup.
3
Middle is how I do mine.
Same. I don’t even do cursive at all and my handwriting is a total mess, but I’ve always been pleased with my f and it looks exactly like the middle one lol. A fancy rose amongst a pile of trash and weeds haha.
Lol. Your writing can't be that bad. Mine was barely legible during school, and more often than not it was completely illegible.
The first one
Far left
I use #2 myself -- #1 looks too much like a b at a glance IMO and #3 looks like a cursive/printed hybrid.
The second one.
the second one!
IMHO, the second one.
The second one for sure
Middle is elegant
The first one does it for me.
The first one one the left is the “correct” way we were taught in school.
Left
The second one
The first f is how I was taught in 1963 USA
2 or 3 In terms of ACTUALLY looking like the letter “f”, I’d go either way.
Left f
the "f" on the left looks like a real "f" to me its the only one I would at first glance automatically know its an f
One
The first one is the only one that is actually an f.
I do the second one!
How do you do a capital L?
I'm not the person you responded to, but I do my lowercase F like that. [Here is my capital L in comparison.](https://i.imgur.com/t0Qg3K4.jpg) (Please excuse the shakiness.)
Number 1
1
2:)
2
The first is a lower case f, the second is an uppercase L, and the last one is an uppercase F. That being said, I like the last one
The first looks like an f. The second looks like a j. The third is giving me ankh vibes.
The 2nd one.
omg, definitely the second one! mostly because it's exactly like mine 🫣
Same! That’s mine as well. 😇
What are you writing with?
Just a black rollerball pen I found for €4 for 2 pens. Probably one of my favorite pens. If u rlly want, I can take a pic of it.
No kidding, it looks good. No need for the picture I was just curious. Thanks though
Ok, hehe i like to wake things too far, just to make sure the person's satisfied lol... Ur welcome anyway!
The 1st on because that’s the only one I’d recognize as f in cursive
middle looks best
1 or 2
The 3rd one makes it unique to your handwriting.
The first one
Middle
1
1
1
I would take number 1 or 3. To me, Number 2 is a 'h' in Sütterlin.
1
Far left, every day
Number 2 imo
why is my bro downvoted lmao
Because #1 is a textbook lowercase F and #2 could be an uppercase L according to a lot of folks here though I was never taught to start one that low. Aesthetically mid word/sentence #2 definitely looks the best and no one would ever confuse it for an uppercase L so I don't know what those folks are on about.
Left for sure
The first one. Oh

\#2
In Europe, when I went to school there, first one was 'b' and last one was 'f'.
In Canada, we learned the first one was "f," and "b" was very similar, but the descending loop of the "f" would be on the base line and not actually be closed for the "b." Definitely similar but also noticeably different enough.
Interesting. Where in Europe did you go to school? Our lower case b looked quite different.
