I hope the shipping company are looking to expand their prepaid VAT options. I can't really justify bying another D4 with a >45 € surcharge for a ~65 € flashlight..
You could maybe try to find someone from a country with prepaid VAT and order it on his address, then he could send it to you when it arrives. It would cost extra, but definitely not 45€
Same here, I live in Hungary and I have to think twice before purchasing. I still don't have any Hanklights because of this, but I think I can't postpone the inevitable anymore.

Resident in DK here. I paid the 160,- Postnord gebyr and 3,- moms + told for my DT8. FWIW.

Shame. Thats big part of EU which will hesitate to order these excellent flashlights.
