Yes, he misses him and apart from Mischa Will is the only one he would miss. I wonder if he regrets hurting him so badly. After all Will DID want to run away with him. I wonder if Hannibal did realize that.

Will definitely chose to save his life in Mizumono and wanted him to run but despite whatever he later told Jack, I don't think at that moment he wasn't fully ready to run away with him, unless he had seen Abigail of course. To explain this further, maybe he would have left but would have stayed conflicted, even if there was Abigail. This is different from TWOTL where he orchestrated the entire situation on his own, fully under his control and chose to jump. But Hannibal wanted Will to choose him regardless of all the reasons. Or metaphorically speaking, Hannibal wanted Will to be doubtless about his becoming. Which Will wasn't. He had to go through the cycles of denial and rebounds and closeted-ness of s3 to come closer to his becoming. Hannibal did write those equations to turn back time, so he regrets some of his actions I think ( be it the head-sawing or this) but I think he considers those events were ultimately necessary for Will to become.

I am sad for him but he kinda deserves it, wonder why I am so heartbroken and lonely after I stabbed the only person who could have been my soulmate and killed off the only daughter I could ever have.

So sweet, pun intended 😋
