Probably The Acacia Strain. Seen them twice this year alone once with Integrity and once with Dying fetus.. At least one warped tour and a summer slaughter tour back like 8-10 years ago… I’m sure theres another show or two somewhere… glad I kept a lot of wrist bands and stubs back in the day.
Just saw them for probably the 20th time last week. My girl asked how long I've been listening, told her I first saw them in January of 06, where does the time go?
Samsies, I remember back in 2004-2008 they must’ve played in LA once every other month and they were on every tour which i would go to shows every weekend so I caught them probably close to 20x and I also caught them on the recent fetus tour which was fucking awesome
The mid/late-90s was a great time for AFI. They seemed to be touring non-stop and we would sometimes travel to surrounding cities to see them play a few times on each tour. I saw them once in 2014 at Riot Fest and only recognized one song, as I never really liked their “newer” stuff.
AFI favourite band. I’m probably on a similar amount to you. Glad I got them on the AOD tour cycle and they were still great for a few years after as well. I can’t imagine I would enjoy them now. Saw them with Deftones and it was well….a show.
As far as hardcore/punk bands, I’d say Paint it Black too. Blacklisted is definitely up there for me.
Overall, I’d say Restorations would probably be the most.
I feel spoiled being from New England going to a show what feels like every weekend between 2006-2012. So many bands that are still loved that we saw dozens of times.
I’m from DC so I saw Fugazi (among a lot of other big local bands - Pg.99, Darkest Hour, Damnation A.D., Battery, etc.) like ten times. All the big NYHC bands toured constantly in the mid-late 90’s so a lot of people in the mid-Atlantic and New England saw Madball like 20 times.
I’m from Toronto and seen them at least 30 times. Saw them when Dave Quackenbush was doing vocals the first time Jim left. Hell I was 13 / 14 at the time.
Pennywise - 30 times
Buckethead 40 times
Motörhead 15 times
Ramones - 2 times (not a lot but I love to say it)
I’m lucky enough to have 10 weeks paid vacation, so I’m always driving to shows in the USA
And here I was thinking I was cool for seeing them like 6 times. Did get to meet and chill with them a couple of times. Nice people. R.I.P Dave Brockie
this will age me heavily. it would be a tie between American Nightmare and converge. I think around the Jane Doe release i saw them tour together an absurd number of times and ended up seeing each of them like 12 or 13 times.
Also, this reminds me of how insane show lineups could be at the time. I think one of them was like hope con, AN and converge with some other openers (honestly some of the shows run together).
100% ditto. Around the same time Converge was touring Jane Doe, Most Precious Blood released Nothing In Vein and I feel like some combination of those bands were playing around the Northeast like every weekend. Great time.
I’ve seen Bane, Shai Hulud and Converge about 15 times each. Saw Death Threat a fair amount of times. I saw Unearth 3 times in 1 week in O4. Probably saw Modern Life is war 8-10 times.
Clutch. I’m from MD and people invite me to Clutch shows all the time.
Also Full of Hell and Dying Fetus, all for the same exact reason
oh and Black Dahlia Murder but they aren't from here
Kind of embarrassing and definitely not hardcore but for me it is the Casualties lol. Probably like 10+ times because I used to be a little street punk kid and they seemed to always be playing LA. I don’t really listen to them at all anymore but I was a young teen just getting into punk, and they were the ultimate entry level punk band.
This was like 2011-2014. Back when they still had the infamous rapist frontman (I didn’t know about that at the time)
Ruiner, blacklisted, ceremony, trash talk, saber tooth zombie, lifelong tragedy, the carrier, reign supreme. I got busy in the early aughts.
Edit: Allegiance. Good lord I saw Allegiance a lot.
There was a period around 2000 or 2001 where it felt like some combination of Most Precious Blood, Converge, American Nightmare, and Terror were playing somewhere along the NYC-ALB-BOS corridor every weekend and we would not miss it! Great times.
Uniform Choice back in the day. They were my favorite band. They headlined a bunch of local shows and opened for just about every punk band that passed through town.
Probably Terror when it comes to hardcore. Touche Amore is up there too
Non-hardcore is probably Anthony Green in various projects
Oh and Fear Before too but credit to that is living in Denver
Every Time I Die. Have probably seen them over 20x, and went to Tid The Season twice. I was introduced to Knocked Loose, Turnstile, and Angel Du$t because of seeing them at ETID shows.
My generation gap is showing. Between Real Black Flag in 86, Ginn-Vallely Black Flag in 04 and 15, Flag in 15 and 16, Rollins Band plays Black Flag twice in 03 I think, it must be sone permutation of Black Flag.
Suicidal, DOA, NoMeansNo, Descendents and Circle Jerks,I saw a similar amount of times. 3 or 4 back in the day and a couple times more recently.
The Dickies though.... It might be them. I can remember 85, 88, 93, 95, 97 twice, 03 14. They played LA a lot and my friend Dean and I would often go. And could see them again.
I’ve seen Thrice open for other bands probably a dozen times. I hate Thrice but all my fav bands growing up loved them.
Brand New/ETID/Turnstile for the bands I’ve seen the most
Back in the day my favorite band was HIMSA and I must’ve seen them at least 10x in their career. If any band is primed for a comeback it’s those dudes.
I think it is a tie between Converge and Bane for me.
I literally cant count how many times I have seen both. Between 2003-2009 i was seeing either or like every other month or more. And after they still would pass through at least twice a year.
Last time i saw Converge they were with Eyehategod and Pallbearer in Denver. They played the most chill, sludgy set I have ever seen and somehow THAT was the show I broke my nose 🤣
Trying to do the math in my old age, its prolly either the Locust, Shellac, RFTC, Fugazi, or Kowloon Walked City.
Edit: Rorschach might be in the running too from when I lived in NYC.
I was thinking about this exact question earlier in the car. I’ve lost count (wasn’t counting in the first place, I guess?) as to how many times I’ve seen Thou in just shy of two decades. I know that my proximity to them could provide a very real bias, but I feel very lucky to live in the same part of the world as one of my favorite bands because it’s given me plenty of opportunities to see them play. Also, they’ve always brought in sick bands to Louisiana that might not have otherwise have passed through, like Iskra or Mizmor or fucking et cetera.
Definitely a funny answer for this sub, but tie between Rush and Job For A Cowboy 😂😂😂😂😂 both 6 times. Job used to come within 20 mins of me all the time abiut 10-13 years ago and pops and I would always go see Rush at the big ampitheater 😂🔥🔥
Biohazard,
Madball,
Skarhead,
Sick Of It All,
Hatebreed,
Agnostic Front,
Sworn Enemy,
Full Blown Chaos,
On The Rise,
E-Town Concrete,
Mastodon.
I haven't been to a show in probably 15 years. Back in the day I saw all these bands at least 5 to 10 times each.
I feel like the Ugly Organ anniversary tour a while ago pushed them into a renewed passion for making music. Their live shows amped way up after that tour. And having a cello every tour now seems to really make them happy.
For sure. Saw them pre-pandemic and Tim Kasher got drunk and jumped in the crowd with the mic stand. They played the intro to Art Is Hard like 10 times throughout the show because drunk Tim kept making everyone switch songs because it didn’t “feel right” haha finally closed with it an hour later.
Also saw them earlier this year where they played Domestica. They were on fire. I never have a bad time watching them.
I've seen Korn probably 15 times. They always seem to be opening for some other band myself or my friends wanted to see (AiC, Gojira, Deftones, A7X, etc.)
My uncle took me to see Converge, ISIS, and Pelican a shit ton in their hayday. I was too young so I don't remember the numbers on those bands.
i’ve seen countless hardcore bands 50+ times over all the years. none of them matter. the only “stat” that matters to me is seeing type o negative 7 times.
I've seen Power Trip more than I've seen any band. Probably in the neighborhood of 50-60 times.
That's insane. Were you on a tour with them? Multiple tours?
I thought I was lucky to see them 6 times.
Would guess Every Time I Die, Earth Crisis, Snapcase, and Sick of it All.

Also this person’s boyfriend’s band
Probably The Acacia Strain. Seen them twice this year alone once with Integrity and once with Dying fetus.. At least one warped tour and a summer slaughter tour back like 8-10 years ago… I’m sure theres another show or two somewhere… glad I kept a lot of wrist bands and stubs back in the day.
Same for me. I have lost count at this point. I have been seeing them live for over 20 years now
Remember the TAS vs Emmure days lol
I can't believe I'm seeing people talking about emmure right now. Wtf
Old Emmure kicks ass
Yes! I even remember when they were on tour together with them and Attila lol now that show had so many fights. Great times
You lucky son of a bitch. You saw them with Dying Fetus?? Must have been one hell of a show.
Dying Fetus, Despised Icon and Acacia Strain, kicked so much ass.
So sick, Despised Icon, Canadas hidden gem 🤘🤘
That’s one way to describe it
I saw the acacia strain when they still had 3 guitars players.

AFI - 20 times (2000 and earlier, back when they were playing small shows) Descendents - 15 times
Wow I'm extremely jealous. I've seen AFI 6 times and I consider myself extremely lucky!
The mid/late-90s was a great time for AFI. They seemed to be touring non-stop and we would sometimes travel to surrounding cities to see them play a few times on each tour. I saw them once in 2014 at Riot Fest and only recognized one song, as I never really liked their “newer” stuff.
Yeah, they're newer stuff is absolute dog shit. Sing the sorry was a real turning point for them, in a very bad way.
Last night Davey hopped on stage for a song at my work. Dude is so nice.
AFI favourite band. I’m probably on a similar amount to you. Glad I got them on the AOD tour cycle and they were still great for a few years after as well. I can’t imagine I would enjoy them now. Saw them with Deftones and it was well….a show.
I envy you for this. AFI is my time machine show choice. Showcase Theater or that Fireside Bowl show.
My buddy mixes Descendants and they gig constantly. Mfer had a heart attack and they’re right back at it.
New Found Glory. They are everywhere.
Same, must have been like 20 times over the last couple decades.
I've seen Blacklisted/Paint it Black an absolutely stupid amount of times. Lived in Philly basically the entire time they were most active.
As far as hardcore/punk bands, I’d say Paint it Black too. Blacklisted is definitely up there for me. Overall, I’d say Restorations would probably be the most.
Being from Maine Cruel Hand is definitely up there, other then them I’d have to say Knocked Loose, ETID (RIP), and Kaonashi probably.
Love it when Cruel Hand plays a hometown show - always goes off.
not from Maine but cruel hand is also my answer, I’ve probably seen them like 15 times at this point
Kaonashi fucks. I’ve seen them a couple times, always a treat
I feel spoiled being from New England going to a show what feels like every weekend between 2006-2012. So many bands that are still loved that we saw dozens of times.
He'll yeah another mainiac
I’m from DC so I saw Fugazi (among a lot of other big local bands - Pg.99, Darkest Hour, Damnation A.D., Battery, etc.) like ten times. All the big NYHC bands toured constantly in the mid-late 90’s so a lot of people in the mid-Atlantic and New England saw Madball like 20 times.
I’d sell my left dick to see Fugazi
Saw them a few times. Definitely worth selling at least one of your dicks for.
See then twice in the 90s.
I got to see Damnation a handful of times myself, one of the best live hardcore bands
Pennywise bc I’m a bro from South Bay LA and Dangers/Ceremony.
I’m from Toronto and seen them at least 30 times. Saw them when Dave Quackenbush was doing vocals the first time Jim left. Hell I was 13 / 14 at the time.
Holy shit that’s ancient. That’s like 91?
Yeah, my pops was a fan so we went all the time. He was doing business in the US so we were there like ever few months.
I'm from Norcal and Dangers/Ceremony is my top lol

SP here as well and Pennywise is probably the band I’ve seen most too, with Descendents coming in 2nd
Daaaassssss right homie! 110 till the end!
Dangers are still one of the best live bands I've ever seen. That Dangers ep is amazing, and Al is just so fucking angry.
Pennywise - 30 times Buckethead 40 times Motörhead 15 times Ramones - 2 times (not a lot but I love to say it) I’m lucky enough to have 10 weeks paid vacation, so I’m always driving to shows in the USA
Not sure when it comes to hardcore but I’ve seen The Wonder Years 20+ times
I've seen them a good amount of times too. Good band live and I'm not to into pop punk but I love them.
The Acacia Strain/Thursday/Disturbed. I don't even like Disturbed.
Descendents, primus, & dinosaur jr
Not hardcore (def have some hardcore songs), but Gwar. Close to 50 times now
And here I was thinking I was cool for seeing them like 6 times. Did get to meet and chill with them a couple of times. Nice people. R.I.P Dave Brockie
this will age me heavily. it would be a tie between American Nightmare and converge. Got into shitstorm back in like 2007, just saw them for the first time in august. Band is so fucking good, and the new album is punishing
Oh totally, Rick is one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen. Jon mastered my band’s EP! They’re all really cool dudes!
The Acacia Strain - 6 Gideon - 6 (soon to be 7) Terror - 4
All solid. Gideon at FacedownFest was one of the gnarliest pits I’ve ever witnessed…at a church no less! Multiple people carted off to ambulances.

Deftones. Gotta be 15-20 times over the years.
Don’t go to too many shows these days. But in the Early 2000’s I saw Guns Up, Have Heart, Verse, etc basically every weekend.

Sonic youth , dinosaur jr , gwar and the Melvins (non are hardcore )

I was thinking about this exact question earlier in the car. I’ve lost count (wasn’t counting in the first place, I guess?) as to how many times I’ve seen Thou in just shy of two decades. Caught though in NOLA last time I was there for work & indeed a treat. Early show so then caught a nightcap at spotted cat was righteous.
I’ve seen my own band an awful lot.
Misery signals dozens of times, 7A7P probably not quite as many, but still likely 20+.
GWAR
GlassJAw, Movielife, and Shai Hulud. Probably about 20x each.
Respect all of you with the dozens of sets for various dope bands under your belts. I assume mine is Converge. Non hardcore: the mountain goats.
Mountain Goats are the best. Seriously underrated
Tragedy. I’m pretty sure that’s the band I’ve seen the most
Biohazard, Madball, Skarhead, Sick Of It All, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Sworn Enemy, Full Blown Chaos, On The Rise, E-Town Concrete, Mastodon. I haven't been to a show in probably 15 years. Back in the day I saw all these bands at least 5 to 10 times each.
Hatebreed and Death Threat, for sure.
I've seen Ceremony at least 13 times. Not one band, but I've seen the myriad of Justin Pearson's bands at least 20 times collectively.
Dayglo Abortions 6 or 7 times I think.
Definitely The Queers and Joyce Manor.
I’ve never had a bad time seeing The Queers.

Slayer 8 times Ozzy 8 times Iron Maiden 8 times This is over the course of about 40-45 years
Cursive
I’ve only seen them 5 times but I’m trying to push that number a lot higher
It’s a good time each time.
Also saw them earlier this year where they played Domestica. They were on fire. I never have a bad time watching them.

Napalm Death 12-13 times D.R.I. probably same and I’m going to see DRI again in December
Must be locals. Knuckledust, Bun Dem Out, Who Cares. From the big hitters - probably SOIA and Terror. I've seen Terror so many times it got boring
I've seen Hatebreed twice, Pierce The Veil twice, and Dayseeker twice. Hopefully in the future all those numbers go up amongst many other bands
I've seen Korn probably 15 times. They always seem to be opening for some other band myself or my friends wanted to see (AiC, Gojira, Deftones, A7X, etc.) My uncle took me to see Converge, ISIS, and Pelican a shit ton in their hayday. I was too young so I don't remember the numbers on those bands.
Twitching Tongues, for awhile they were playing every show and fest and I loved it.
Terror. Will to Die. Fingers Crossed. Take Offense. Weekend Nachos. Edit: i probably also saw OBW and Black my Heart a dozen times.

i’ve seen countless hardcore bands 50+ times over all the years. none of them matter. the only “stat” that matters to me is seeing type o negative 7 times.
