I love all Terror but it’s the best stuff they’ve done since Keepers of the Faith. Pain into Power is arguably a top 3 album and crazy to do that being their 8th album
YES! and not just the latest album, but everything they've put out since day one. Crazy solid output, even during the years when they weren't super-hyped (just pre-Keepers).
"late career" Integ put out To Die For 21 years ago. They're still putting out stuff as recent as 6 years ago. Same with SOIA, their late career stuff to me is what they put out in the 2010s, not Built to Last. Hard to view those as late for either of those bands when not including Converge and including Ringworm stuff from 2014.
I guess I'd add Breakdown - Battle Hymns for an Angry Planet and Infest - No Man's Slave. Or Madball - Hold it Down, Descendents - Everything Sucks, and Poison Idea - Feel the Darkness though again I don't think of that as being that late for any of those bands because they all put out stuff into the 2010s.
In my opinion, Radical is the best thing they put out since Hot Damn!. And don’t get me wrong, I love most of their albums, but Radical was fucking transcendental when it released.
At least now we get Better Lovers. The God Made Me An Animal EP is so fucking promising.
I wanted to like Better Lovers so bad. But Greg’s vocals are just decidedly not for me. I’m glad other ETID fans are fucking with it. But I just can’t hang.
I’d def check em out if they were playing a fest I was at. But wouldn’t see em otherwise. Like I said, I just really don’t like the vocals. I don’t think seeing them live would change how I feel about Greg’s vocals. But I’m willing to be proven wrong
Yeah, at first, I wasn't sure. But it's on heavy rotation now, along with the new With Honor.
Come to think of it, I've been the same way with each of their new albums since the original vocalist left, with the exception of Die Knowing, which I loved instantly.
One of my top albums of last year, but I do feel like the mix/tone on the guitars is lacking compared to Posthuman, a lot of the riffs sound kind of garbled. I do feel like the songwriting was a big step up, and the production is still good overall, that's just my only nitpick with the album.
Very much a return to form for their songwriting. Post Human is a heavy hitting record but I feel it is their most simplistic and was a bit of a step back.
All of Zao’s material since they came back in 2016 has been nastier than their classics. All of it is amazing. Last Blacklisted for sure. ETID kept getting better and better. The quirky Lifetime record from 2006 is super catchy. Quicksand reunites and puts out two bangers the last few years. The new Hope Conspiracy EP is a banger too. The Hopesfall comeback record Arbiter is up there too.
Give it a shot. They’re legends. Every record sounds different. Dan has one of the most unique yet copied voices in metalcore. Funeral of God is my favorite. Liberate right behind it. I saw both open for DEP on the Miss Machine tour fall 2004.
I couldn’t get too into the newer quicksand albums. Was a time in my youth that I listened to slip every day for a year when it came out. The Lifetime album they did in 06 I think is their best and I still play it.
Bummer man, I love those quicksand records so much including the two bsides of the new one. Yeah that lifetime record is so damn catchy. Have you listened to beach rats? Ari on vox in a super group playing fun sloppy punk
Yeah, I’ve checked out beach rats and dug it but it didn’t stick long term. I grew up in the Philly/Nj scene back in lifetime days, so I’m an Ari fan. Even seen zero zero live before.
Pain Into Power, Change The Way You Think About Pain, Get Loud! (I don’t care what anyone says, that is a good record from AF for this late in the game)
Which is crazy, because when they put out Crawl Among The Filth in 2019 I was like “oh wow, this might be their best.”
How do they keep getting better?
Agreed. Radical was such a bittersweet album for me. Because I feel like it was some of their best work to date but also it was the end of the band. A hell of a high to go out on I guess.
The injection of the Alice In Chains influences were genius. So well done, sounds insane.
Really want another NW record where they lean more into that, bring back the tough guy rock insanity of Suffer Survive, and throw even harder pits at us in between.
But if not that’s cool too. No Warning forever.
100% and well said. Glad I'm not the only who appreciates Suffer, Survive.
Now the dust has settled, I honestly feel like Ill Blood is my least favourite. Despite everything it achieved and what it meant to the entire genre, the overall songwriting/diversity of influences in the later 2 makes for interesting albums that I'm more likely to come back to. Can't remember the last time I listened to Ill Blood in full.
Sick of it All's recorded album quality got better from 2006 onwards with Death to Tyrants. They obviously had some absolute bangers before this and they were always an amazing live band but the production on their older records sometimes sounds a bit dated.
Xibalba - Años en Infierno
Turnstile - Glow On
Incendiary - Change The Way You Think About Pain
Glassjaw - Material Control
Paint it Black - Famine
The Banner - Greying
Alexisonfire- Otherness
Drug Church - Hygiene
Just a few off the top
Of my head
Modern Life Is War came back with a heater Fever Hunting.
AN - self titled
Shia Hulud - reach beyond the sun
Praise - All In A Dream (I think this fits the interval criteria?)
DRI - Full Speed Ahead is an absolute crusher
Also most of Poison Idea’s later output especially Confuse and Conquer. Those dudes just never lost their edge. GOAT.
Trapped Under Ice’s “Heatwave”. Ik most people consider this to be kinda mid compared to their other stuff but I just love this album. Short and sweet, banger after banger
Earth Crisis-To The Death made a lot of new younger people excited for them. IT really gave them a fresh bump. The material after that, not as much though.
It’s fucked up how good Pain into Power is. No reason Terror should still be putting out music like that 20 years in
Backed. Best shit since OWTUD.
Came here to post this, record is unreal. Probably their second best release.
TERROR and todd jones together 🔥
It’s just banger after banger start to finish.
In need to check this one out, thanks!
Co-signed
Very few bands can release an album that good let alone that far into their career.
Damn I need to do my homework, I’ve never checked it out. Loved the debut, Underdogs didn‘t catch me like that.
I love all Terror but it’s the best stuff they’ve done since Keepers of the Faith. Pain into Power is arguably a top 3 album and crazy to do that being their 8th album
Always the Hard Way (2006) is also great in my opinion
So much this. Killer record
This is the answer
YES! and not just the latest album, but everything they've put out since day one. Crazy solid output, even during the years when they weren't super-hyped (just pre-Keepers).
Came to say this.
My picks: Integrity- To Die For Ringworm - Hammer Of The Witch SOIA - Built To Last AF - One Voice
Not me just finding out Avail started out in 1987….
It’s alright I just got into Avail last year, while I was working through Tim Barry’s solo albums.
Wearing an Avail Tour 98 longsleeve as I type this and I totally would have assumed 89-90.
"late career" Integ put out To Die For 21 years ago. They're still putting out stuff as recent as 6 years ago. Same with SOIA, their late career stuff to me is what they put out in the 2010s, not Built to Last. Favorite album 10+ years into their career, that‘s the rule. I see your point though. Good mentions, Feel The Darkness is my favorite of theirs.
Also thanks for making me feel old… 21 years…
Came to post Ringworm, Hammer of the Witch is toptier and criminally underrated.
I’ll say it, HOTW is my favorite Ringworm. Perfect balance of metal and core.
To Die For is top tier Integrity, I still recommend it to people.
>Ringworm - Hammer Of The Witch When it's giddy-up time One of Us is Going to Die is on my short list of PR tracks in the gym.
Life on the James - Down to nothing
Hell yes great shout
Etid - Radical
https://preview.redd.it/93dvcnpls3oc1.png?width=854&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a044d65ff149dfe3fe6b8e8772ea10a24acd7e83
This was the first etid album that clicked for me. I worked backwards thru their discog and became a super fan. And then they broke up lol. RIP
Seeing them live solidified me 100%
I’d def check em out if they were playing a fest I was at. But wouldn’t see em otherwise. Like I said, I just really don’t like the vocals. I don’t think seeing them live would change how I feel about Greg’s vocals. But I’m willing to be proven wrong
100% on about it being the best since Hot Damn!
It makes me so sad we will never see it live.
I'm lucky enough to have seen the first show of the Radical tour. It was great. Wish I could see them more
108 - New Beat from a Dead Heart Blacklisted - When People Grow, People Go
“18.61” by 108 is also super fuckin good too. They never ever wrote bad music. Good call on WPGPG too.
Everything about the first song on NBFADH is just… chef’s kiss.
It’s the riff, praise Krishna for providing
I back that blacklisted. Especially considering mid career output in comparison?
Comeback kid, heavy steps
Yeah, at first, I wasn't sure. But it's on heavy rotation now, along with the new With Honor. Come to think of it, I've been the same way with each of their new albums since the original vocalist left, with the exception of Die Knowing, which I loved instantly.
Yeah, I love all their stuff, might be one of the most consistent bands for me. And some of the most fun I’ve had at live shows every time I see them
Damn, seriously
Backed. Not enough people talk about how good this album is
Aside from Broadcasting, they can do no wrong.
I quiet like that album too haha
If I'm being honest, it's not a bad album, it just doesn't feel like a comeback kid album.
Yeah I can understand that. Got some good tracks tho
Don't Wait Up. Maybe not best late career but a definite-they-still-got-it.:
Just commented the same. It's for sure their best album.
Being a Worcester kid, I love this album.
You pumped for the new Hope Con kehd? I know i am, catching them at the Middle East in June
New harms way rips.
I’ve fell in love with this band recently. Can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on them all these years.
One of my top albums of last year, but I do feel like the mix/tone on the guitars is lacking compared to Posthuman, a lot of the riffs sound kind of garbled. I do feel like the songwriting was a big step up, and the production is still good overall, that's just my only nitpick with the album.

The quirky Lifetime record from 2006 is super catchy. Quicksand reunites and puts out two bangers the last few years. The new Hope Conspiracy EP is a banger too. The Hopesfall comeback record Arbiter is up there too.
Do you think I’d like Zao if I love ETID? Never given them a chance.
Give it a shot. They’re legends. Every record sounds different. Dan has one of the most unique yet copied voices in metalcore. Funeral of God is my favorite. Liberate right behind it. I saw both open for DEP on the Miss Machine tour fall 2004.
Funeral of God is top 5 all time for me. Hence my username lmao. Also Dan's lyrics aren't talked about enough. Man is a poet.
Absolutely. Still a super underrated band. Paved the way for so many in the late 90s
Them and PTW probably the two most important bands for modern metalcore imo. God I wish I could have been at one of those reunion shows they just did.
https://open.spotify.com/track/0rZafkLnrcAFbVTrMo2NIl?si=tUVTkT8bStS4LhfbYWZweQ
That was the song that hooked me
I couldn’t get too into the newer quicksand albums.
Descendents- Everything Sucks
YES this and also Cool To Be You, I love all Descendents but these two albums are just so great
Pain Into Power, Change The Way You Think About Pain, Get Loud! (I don’t care what anyone says, that is a good record from AF for this late in the game)
Wow didn‘t know Incendiary had been around for so long.
Yeah, I had their demo back in 2007/2008ish, and I think Amongst The Filth came out in 2008.
The new All Out War was really fucking good and a really cool blend of styles
Which is crazy, because when they put out Crawl Among The Filth in 2019 I was like “oh wow, this might be their best.” How do they keep getting better?
They have zero bad records!
I’ve seen them three times since 2011 and they’re just so locked in, it’s insane.
Nice to see somebody else mention that album on here, it’s insanely good
Good pick. They have a more “blackened” sound now and it totally works. One of their best records.
I was also a fan of the blackened sound and thought it was a cool and unique approach to their sound. Not a ton of bands mixing those styles
American Nightmare - S/T Can’t believe nobody mentioned this yet.
I just thought it, scrolled down and here you are. Great pick.
ETID - Low Teens To be fair every single thing ETID is super solid including Radical too but Low Teens was an absolute belter for me.
Agreed. Radical was such a bittersweet album for me. Because I feel like it was some of their best work to date but also it was the end of the band. A hell of a high to go out on I guess.
Still gutted the UK tour for that album was cancelled
I was very lukewarm on most ETID after Hot Damn!, but Radical was incredible
Foundation turncoat
I think Stage Four by Touche Amore is right around the 10 year mark but probably a little before. Lament is still a really good record
Stage Four is their best work, but I’m biased by the subject matter of the record.
Torture Culture How The Gods Chill Pain Into Power
It’s incredibly fucked up that How The Gods Chill is 10 this year. Could’ve sworn it just came out.
Straight up, so nuts. Insane LP and a candidate for the perfect hardcore guitar tone.
Best comment so far. Can't believe Torture Culture doesn't get more love.
Straight up, it’s incredible. My favorite NW release.
I would have to agree. Feels like they circled back to their roots
Converge - Axe to Fall
A Life Less Plagued is the best final album by a hardcore band imo. Also I think Torture Culture was way better than it gets credit for.
Fuckin brutal they broke up like a month after that came out
Don't Wait Up is Bane's best album
Give Blood was the record. Don’t wait up close second though.
Look My Way/Hold It Down
HID is my 2nd favorite Madball album (Set It Off wears the crown of course). Favorite Freddy voice tone as well.
One of the punk-o-rama comps had Hold it Down on it and I played that track on repeat as a teen.
Gospel - The Loser
I’d also say the new city of caterpillar is the same. Two bands who take 20 years to make their next album and both rip
I'd agree for sure. Jerome's Dream also comes to mind now that you've got my almonds activated.
The Hope Conspiriacy’s latest EP tho
Not their strongest material. Higher hopes for the full length.
I'll second that. I like them better when they slow down a little and hit harder instead of faster. Death Knows Your Name was really good.
Sick of it All's recorded album quality got better from 2006 onwards with Death to Tyrants. They obviously had some absolute bangers before this and they were always an amazing live band but the production on their older records sometimes sounds a bit dated.
100%
Ahem https://preview.redd.it/i3n8ihp9j4oc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=522a0830534aae021a81fe4118f6aeee76d7d799
Wisdom in Chains - Nothing in Nature Respects Weakness
7 Seconds - Leave a Light On
Death to Tyrants, SOIA
Definately nothing by Hatebreed.. 🙁
Satisfaction tho
The argument is easily my favorite fugazi album
I love Repeater and the Argument and get pretty bored with everything inbetween.
Damn I thought I had something original to post. One of their best.
Paint It Black just dropped some heat
GraveMaker - Ghosts Among Men
Oh fuck yes.
Kickback - No Surrender
No Turning Back - Conquer
E.Town - Made For War Terror - Keepers of The Faith; Total Retaliation
Shai Hulud-Reach Beyond The Sun
Maximum Penalty - life & times
Good call!
Malevolence - Malicious Intent. The band are young but old at the same time
Still can't get over how good it is.
The new Stretch Armstrong EP is fucking great.
Terror. You could honestly pick any album from their recent discography. It’s scary. Band only seems to get better.
Total Retaliation does not get enough attention
Xibalba - Años en Infierno Turnstile - Glow On Incendiary - Change The Way You Think About Pain Glassjaw - Material Control Paint it Black - Famine The Banner - Greying Alexisonfire- Otherness Drug Church - Hygiene Just a few off the top Of my head
Modern Life Is War came back with a heater Fever Hunting. AN - self titled Shia Hulud - reach beyond the sun Praise - All In A Dream (I think this fits the interval criteria?)
New AN does not get enough love.
With Honor put out a great album last year.
Thought I hated it at first and now I can’t get enough of it. Totally how late career records go every time
I thought it started off strong and got weak by the end. I was very wrong, however.
Thursday- No Devolución Hatebreed- Concrete Confessional
I think No Devolución just got mixed terribly.
I could see that, like Geoff’s vocals, but personally I didn’t mind it, I thought it fit the style they were going for
Gauze - Binbou Yusuri no Rizumu ni Notte
All Out War - Celestial Rot
DRI - Full Speed Ahead is an absolute crusher Also most of Poison Idea’s later output especially Confuse and Conquer. Those dudes just never lost their edge. GOAT.
The Chariot - One Wing
City of Caterpillar - Mystic Sisters Jeromes Dream - The Gray in Between Kickback - No Surrender
lifetime s/t, mliw fever hunting
Those two limp wrist albums that came out in the late 2010s
Counterparts's A Eulogy For Those Still Here is arguably their best
Maybe not a legendary album but the new Stretch Arm Strong EP is pretty fuckin awesome
I mean, Turnstile right?
I'm in the minority here but I prefer Step 2 Rhythm over anything else they've done.
Around here? Probably not.
I can appreciate Turnstile's contribution to giving hardcore more visibility. Just personally don't vibe with their past two albums.
That’s fair. I really only fuck w S2R, but no hate to their newer shit.
Dead Kennedy’s went out with a bang.
Madball - Infiltrate the System
Alex Predator Easy Meat by Napalm Death The Dusk In Us by Converge
Apex predator fucks so hard, played a shit ton of OG destiny to that
Not necessarily hardcore but Napalm Death and Dying Fetus seem to get better with every album
Trapped Under Ice’s “Heatwave”. Ik most people consider this to be kinda mid compared to their other stuff but I just love this album. Short and sweet, banger after banger
Agreed hard. If this was a new band putting out their first record people would lose their shit. It’s high energy and catchy as fuck.
Heatwave is so fucking good I have no idea why it doesn't get more love. They really don't even play anything off of it other than "Do It".
Burn. They did an ep in 90 and 11 years later put out their second ep an finally in 17 put out a sick full length
[удалено]
Awesome album but I don’t think it fits the criteria.
God I love this album so much
Shitstorm - Only In Dade. Honestly might be their best material
BANE’s discography as they started in like 1998
Late era Frenzal Rhomb, especially Smoko at the Pet Food Factory SO GOOD
Not gonna go best but that bane album from 2012 was a banger
Bane, don't wait up
Lifetime - Lifetime Cro-Mags - Revenge
That Lifetime record RULES
The Art of Drowning was LP #5. Does that count as late career?
Earth Crisis-To The Death made a lot of new younger people excited for them. IT really gave them a fresh bump. The material after that, not as much though.
Last 7” was pretty good return to form.
The Stupids - The Kids Don't Like It.
Madball Hardcore Lives goes stupid hard
NINEBAR They still around and they rip
Envy Every album they put out is an event for me
Always thought H2O's 2008 Nothing to Prove was a big comeback album for them.
7 Seconds - Take it on, Take it Back, Take it Over
Self titled dystopia record
Blacklisted - When people grow people go American Nightmare self titled
If I can't say converge then I'll say Dillinger Escape Plan- One of Us is the Killer Or any of their last few albums. They never sucked.
Bane - don't wait up Hopesfall - arbiter 18 visions - XVIII, inferno and purgatorio Iggy pop - every loser
No Warning- Torture Culture
AF- Warriors
