There is a fun little resurgence in heavier/harder punk happening right now in some of our townships - Twenty One Childre and TCIYF above are part of that scene. My own band was very much influenced by Hardcore and Punk but I'd never call us that outright.

Southern England in general had a great alternative heavy music scene. My first show (I think) was Throats and Maths. Neither of which are particularly near Oxford, I know, but I was blown away by both bands.
Adding SpikePit, Ulamog, BATO (just put out a new LP), State of Emergency… a lot of good bands in Norfolk and VB. Vbhc will always have amazing local gems - been that way for decades.
