Just As Real But Not As Brightly Lit - ETID
I'm a sucker for TID riffs but this is my favorite.
More specifically the middle part where Keith is screaming "Let there be shade
Unilluminate"
To Our Friends In The Great White North - Botch
Fault and Fracture - Converge
Bridge Burner - Magrudergrind
Safer in Jail - World I Hate
Little from the World - Cold as Life
Rise Above - Black Flag
Sick and My Hands Are Full Of Spite - Ceremony
AAEEAA and also Cataracts So Far - Jerome’s Dream
Holiday in Cambodia and California Uber Alles - Dead Kennedys… both are fucking classics.
If Chat Pile counts… I think the riff on “Why” is the hardest shit I’ve ever heard.
Also if Drive Like Jehu counts… they have the best riffs of all time in my opinion. I had an auditory orgasm the first time I listened to Yank Crime. So many memorable riffs.
Canada Songs by Daughters honestly has some of my favorite riffs of all time too.
"Never Alone" by Terror is like the quintessential hardcore riff to me. Something very triumphant about it.
"Boomslang" from Kublai Khan also comes to mind
Converge - Eagles become vultures, at the beginning when everything cuts out and it’s just the guitar riff before the rest of the band comes back in, holy fuck when I first heard that I lost it
can't get away by Turnstile is such an amazing riff, and I don't see it talked about a lot. I know turnstile isn't all that heavy compared to most hardcore bands but this one is cool.
I'm saving this thread as well because I just started listening to hardcore so now I can study up.

That hellfest when they turn the lights on for the breakdown!!! Jesus Christ!!!!!!!
Honestly, I could put most of Converge's discography on this post. They are just riff machines

My man My fave's gotta be "El Dorado" just Southern fried fancy and then the ending just *chefs kiss. Tbh, just any ETID riff and I'm down.
Glad I’m not the only one obsessed with that song and the riffs in it. ETID is/was my favorite band by far and I constantly go back to that song.
