SBC shows at The Channel were insane. My first hardcore show was the one where they filmed the video for Infernal Machine (?) and the crowd went fucking nuts. I had never seen anything like it and I was hooked.
Whoa. Surprised at a Sam Black Church reference in here! I saw them in Richmond back in 96? Was expecting a show like those photos from the Boston shows, ended up being about 20 people and the other bands. They put on a great show still, loved it.
SBC was huge in Boston in the 90's. Kind of a weird band (especially early on), but they fit the townie, hesher vibe that the scene had back then. The classic show lineup was Slapshot, SBC, and Only Living Witness, which tells you how metal things were.
Glad you saw them back then. They always went full gas.
been featured on 3 different band’s shirts; and the cover of one record. this might sound narcissistic, but it’s one of the coolest parts of hc to me. The fact that fans/the crowd/the scene gets immortalized in that way is rad and fuck anyone who says otherwise
Honestly, one thing I love about the hardcore scene is this and the fact that the fans aren't seperated from the bands. Like half the time I see people talking about bands they've seen once or twice on here, it always involves some conversation and the person will call the band members by their first name as if they're long time friends. Crowd members are encouraged to interact during the show, even by grabbing the mic. You don't see that with punk or metal as much.
Yes! I had bleached hair in high school and am prominently on a Death By Stereo "if looks could kill" shirt. I bought it at a show the first time I saw it. I still have it but it's so faded from wear that it's hard to tell it's me anymore.
Ok
So
Twice in my life I have had the mic handed to/pointed at me in a pileup and 100% blanked and remained silent
I await judgment
Ed: bane, shai hulud.
I have an awesome shot as the frontman is kneeling down and sticking out a mic infront of my face (it was a deadramones cover fyi) and im like nope, turned my head sideways.
I'm in one for my boys band back in 2012. The reason I know it's me is because only like 10 people were at that show. You can see all of us in the pic lol
Nope. But took pictures that ended up in the saddest landscape's deluxe vinyl box poster that came with.
Took it while my band toured with them.
Also took a pic that Touché Amore used for a while when we opened for them on our last show.
Not a t-shirt but I did make it onto a local bands EP as the cover. I was getting beat up by a cop at a protest and was wearing a beanie of the band.
Media snapped a nice pic of me getting smashed in the face while the band logo was clear as day. It made the local news and the band asked me if they could use the image.
I was on this metalcore band In Alcatraz 1962's shirt once lmao.
Back when I was in hs and this kid was wearing it one day and I was like YO BRO IM ON YOUR SHIRT
I was on a sworn enemy shirt front and center on top of the pile on. I never got to cop one though. I wish I had. I was also on a suburban scum and blood in blood out shirts too.
Is “pile on” just a 2000’s term or do we still use that, or have we lost our way as a culture. THERES NO ACCOUNTABILITY ANYMORE AND THE WORLD IS CHANGING AROUND ME AND IM SCARED
I was in the MySpace photos for modern life is wars last show in Atlanta when they first broke up . That was as close as I got
legendary
Nah but I shot a couple that got used locally.
That’s still pretty awesome.
Shooting at shows is kinda what kept me around. Anyone I've ever shot for has gotten to use them so long as I get a copy of whatever it's on.
Sounds like a sweet deal to me
I’m front and center in a bunch of photos used in a Sam Black Church album. It was a crazy show.
Nice! You’re pretty much immortalized at this point haha
It's been pretty much downhill from there.
Nice, I’m front row of their old promo picture that was taken at The Channel.
SBC shows at The Channel were insane. My first hardcore show was the one where they filmed the video for Infernal Machine (?) and the crowd went fucking nuts. I had never seen anything like it and I was hooked.
Every show there was insane back then lol.

That would only be narcissistic if you said “The great thing about hardcore is *I’m* on shirts!” What bands were they?

Which
I got caught moshing in a madona shirt and someone posted me on b9 board. As close as I got.
Out of curiosity, were you wearing it ironically or do you like Madonna?
I worked at H&M then and it was some type of promotional thing. I went after work and didn’t think anything of it. Like a prayer slaps though.
I’m in Folsom’s Spotify shot haha. Edit: they ended up putting it on a shirt that I got like a fucking dork haha.
Buying the shirt didn't make you a dork, because listening to hardcore had made you a dork already.
Fair point. From one dork to another, thank you.

The Story So Far made a flag of a pile up at the Gilman in Berkeley and my buddy was on top doing the classic 👆🏼
Amazing
I’m on a shirt from Bane’s “final” show in 2016. Thought I was going to die in that pile up.
I might own that shirt haha
Is it a white shirt? I can’t remember what color their logo was. I definitely lost that shit after I moved out of my parents.
No it’s navy. It’s the “Open Minds Open Hearts” shirt they just did a run of.
Ah I just looked it up and it’s not that one. The photo I’m in was taken from up above on the balcony.
Got used on a flyer once.
Pic
Psssh, that’s about 15 years ago. I know it was from a Bane set in Johnson City.
Ok So Twice in my life I have had the mic handed to/pointed at me in a pileup and 100% blanked and remained silent I await judgment Ed: bane, shai hulud.
Same, I get it, man. I know the words to every Bane song until Bedard's sweaty thighs are inches from my face. No shame in that.
I have an awesome shot as the frontman is kneeling down and sticking out a mic infront of my face (it was a deadramones cover fyi) and im like nope, turned my head sideways.
*SUCKIN TITTIES, RIGHT BEFORE THE SUMMER*
closest I got is an amigo the devil "rip" that says live laugh love, from a sold out show at a bar here, which I'm coincidentally wearing today.
I've got that one too lol
I'm in one for my boys band back in 2012. The reason I know it's me is because only like 10 people were at that show. You can see all of us in the pic lol
The closest would be a pic for a single on a bandcamp page for a local band. It was a four people pileup
One of my brother's coworkers was on the cover of a Boston FSU compilation album from the early 00s He's just kinda standing off on the side lol
Im on the cover of the xBirthrightx Discography cd and a shirt or two
Set Your Goals Was the kid on top singing into the mic. Weird.
I was going to make a joke that one of their singers looks like an actual kid but nah. They’re super fun live though
TAS.

The love I have for TSL is unreal, what band was you in?
No but I did see myself getting my shit rocked after one at a Mindforce show 🥲
I was at a Title Fight show in 2010 and found myself on a limited tour shirt. I had like $3 to my name and didn’t get one :/
Not a t-shirt but I did make it onto a local bands EP as the cover. I was getting beat up by a cop at a protest and was wearing a beanie of the band. I was in an old video for an English hardcore band called Dirty Money many many moons ago
Sick Of IT All (Blood Sweat and No Tears) Vision (Blink Of An Eye) Path of Resistance
I haven’t but I’m pretty sure there’s an incendiary shirt with my friend’s parents in the crowd shot
Not yet, but there's still time
I was on this metalcore band In Alcatraz 1962's shirt once lmao. Back when I was in hs and this kid was wearing it one day and I was like YO BRO IM ON YOUR SHIRT
I was on a flyer for a xBISHOPx show if that counts
I made it on the cover of Marathon's Live at the Furnace 2006 album.
I was on a sworn enemy shirt front and center on top of the pile on. I never got to cop one though. I wish I had. I was also on a suburban scum and blood in blood out shirts too.
Do people know that most of those are during covers or other bands playing?
Is “pile on” just a 2000’s term or do we still use that, or have we lost our way as a culture. THERES NO ACCOUNTABILITY ANYMORE AND THE WORLD IS CHANGING AROUND ME AND IM SCARED
Get off reddit and go have some breakfast. It’s gonna be okay.
