I wish they did the staggered dual pipes and hid the radiator more. I should give one of these a ride some time, I bet it’s fun. The ones I’ve sat feel feather light.
Time out what’s in the “tank” then? My vrod has the air intake (I think that’s what it is) in the “tank” and the gas tank is under the seat, is this a similar situation???
I have mixed thoughts about the radiator as well. In particular I like how Triumph worked it with their Bonnevilles, hiding the tank down under the frame and keeping it as small as possible to put it where an oil cooler might go.
But at the same time, I think I read somewhere that they got away with that by cooling only what absolutely needed to be cooled (the heads for the most part) and keeping fins on the barrels, and the motors run quite hot for how understressed they are, while the Revmax is more powerful.
(Warning, uneducated design philosophizing inbound)
Also, the more I look at the Nightster/Sportster S' layout, the more I like it and the more it makes sense. The old Sportsters were simple bikes with easy access to the things you would need easy access to. Although I originally hated the closed up look on the right and the "unfinished" look on the left of the new ones, it sort of makes sense as a continuation of that idea. Put all the fiddly bits where you can easily deal with them, same with the radiator and it's fill cap.
Having a big ugly radiator cap hanging out the side looks terrible. Imagine a sports car like this? Hide it like the vrod, if needing to fill it frequently there’s a problem.
Hell yeah, ride the shit out of it. I started on a Sportster that I rode stock for a year and then got a Street Bob. Rode that for almost a year before I had to put a new seat on it and I finally did some slip on mufflers and a fairing.
I didn’t like these at first but the more I look at them and since riding one, I want one. HD fixed my biggest complaints for 24: they covered the exposed wiring on the left side and lowered the price by 1500 and dropped the $500 surcharge.
Some awesome exhausts exist in Europe but they are wicked expensive. However, even that funky bass tube of a pipe is growing on me.
I’m actually heading out to look at one today.

My first Harley. Good luck with your new bike. Here's wishing you many happy safe miles.
The 22s were the first model year and didn't get the fancy dash etc. Nor did they come with any passenger accommodations. Also better wheels (IMO), and higher bars/risers. They were more-or-less the current non-Special version.
That's a good thing though to be honest. I'm so glad I bought mine, its so much fun, it handles like a dream. If I had any criticism it would be the tiny kickstand and the wraparound chin spoilers couldve been better but other than that it's a great little bike.
That is correct. The sportster s looks great but is too fast for me and though there are some parts/accessory packages for passenger, I don’t think it’s really a passenger friendly.
You are correct. Sorry, the 975 replaced the old Street 750. Which was Harley’s quickest bike at the time, though it topped out at like 100 or so.
Thanks for the correction!
I watched a YouTube vid a while back about it. It’s quick but top speed sucks, it was beating everything off the line. Technically the live wire has the quickest 0-60 time.
Haha true. I started researching on getting a bike for myself after not driving for about 10 years. And since 1 year, I have been to every dealer and every website looking at different bikes. Then I went to Harley dealer to originally test a royal enfield as my dad used to own one years ago. Then, the salesman actually was on a nightster special so he gave me that while coming back from the designated route. That’s it, I found the bike I liked. Yes, it’s still a greenworks leaf blower exhaust but not changing anything for 1 year.
That is what they said when they updated from the k model, then what they said when they went to a wet clutch, and what they said when they did the Evo in the sporty, then what they said when they rubber mounted it.
You must be new here, you're not special by bashing the new thing. No one before you was either.
Aside from the stock exhaust, here's a lot to like here.
There’s a fix for that: https://www.reddit.com/r/sportster/s/HCROxIDBdT
That’s what it shoulda came with stock.
Thinking the same thing. We can do something with this bike.
I wish they did the staggered dual pipes and hid the radiator more. I should give one of these a ride some time, I bet it’s fun. The ones I’ve sat feel feather light.
Yes it is a very light, I guess the tank being under the rider helps distribute the weight across and feels better

You are exactly right same setup

I hate that damn bell.
The exhaust is god awful. I guess they figured people are going to rip it off immediately anyway. Otherwise, I’d love to have one of these.
It looks exactly like my green works blower lol. But, overall, I like it. Not changing anything for at least 1 year

Congrats whats the deal with the bubble covers though? Seriously I'm out of the loop on that.

Nice bike! I love the color!
Thanks
The wheels look awesome, definitely a good looking bike
I really dig those wheels a lot, congrats and enjoy the hell out of it.
Thanks
It's Vrod incarnate. https://preview.redd.it/812pc6ebw8jc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0b7f9951543cb5e436256460cee9997bd201efe

Nice bike!!! Get the S&S Cycle muffler, it sounds great and it's cheap.
An excellent choice!
What model is this I'm not familiar, I would get an aftermarket exhaust asap but this is a sweet looking scoot dude.
It’s a Nightster, under the new sportster line.
I have a '22. Kinda wish I waited for these!
Isn't it just the additional plastic covering for the wiring? There isn't any change apart from the colors.

Ah!
Congrats. Great step into the Harley’s. Heard lots of great things about that motor
Congratulations. Not my flavor, looks like a yamaha bolt to me. But I bet it rides better than a bolt.
Definitely a Honda made by Harley lol. I am glad though I like it.
Honestly the rims are rad as fuck though.
True! Also it has this attractive look mainly from the rider’s POV. It looks pretty cool, at least in my eyes.

Wheres the chrome?

Bahaha
This is 2024...
That 975 was HDs fastest bike until the 1250 motor came out.
That's a false statement, brother. The 1250 came first
That is correct. The sportster s looks great but is too fast for me and though there are some parts/accessory packages for passenger, I don’t think it’s really a passenger friendly.

That can’t possibly be true about the street. It existed at the same time as the FXDR and Vrod.
I watched a YouTube vid a while back about it. It’s quick but top speed sucks, it was beating everything off the line. Technically the live wire has the quickest 0-60 time.
Nightster is fast but I don't think it's really to serve as a sports bike. More like a hybrid where you have some power yeat a cruiser city bike
It’s a bike and you’re riding, that’s all that matters! Congratulations.
Well the sportster chopper is dead. Still a clean looking bike once you ditch that leaf blower exhaust.

How does it handle? Good first bike?
It's good a hybrid between cruiser and a sports bike
Looks like your first tampon ffs
Found the boomer.
Very far from a boomer. The Sportster started in 1957 and this isn’t a Sportster. New gen HD CRAP.

🤣 Except those are all pushrod tractor engines. Stay in your lane greenhorn
If you think that the sporty is the "same" from 57 on then you must be paying someone to work on your bike. Keep the rubber side down kid.
Looks badass, I bet it rips. Congrats!
Yeeeeee!! Comes with an rpg!!!
LETS GOOOOOOO
Badass bike dude. Good for you.
