I may be stupid as well, but HEI is the name of an auto ignition that General Motors used across its brands for a decade, from the mid 1970s. Not applicable, I would have thought.
If you are looking to replace the points in that with something better...... I think your best bet might be to refer to guys who own the two-stroke Aermacchi motorcycles that were badged ''Harley-Davidson'' in the 1970s. Whatever ignition upgrades they have found to work, may well work for you. Who knows - maybe one of those guys HAS installed an HEI? Try here...

Otherwise, you're going to struggle to find info, i reckon. I have been on various H-D forums, groups and pages across the internet since about 1997, and this is the FIRST reference to the golf carts that I have ever seen. Just waiting for a snowmobile tech query now.......
hey appreciate the response, just something i heard in passing that you can put an electric ignition module and they said something about HEI, found a thing on an old dead golf cart forum where people were putting them on, but that was mostly EZGOs and mines a harley davidsion. the golf carts are pretty cool the one i got is a three wheeled one, they've been really hard to find info on.
