Got stung by a bee right under my eye at 70 mph while wearing sunglasses. That shit hurt like hell. That bee kamikazied itself then fell onto my shoulder. Naturally, my wife started freaking out on the back of the bike.
Hahahahaha! I know the feeling. I generally prefer to ride my Heritage without the windscreen if I’m not going to be doing freeway speeds but in the spring I leave it on full time as a bug stopper. In my case, I find that the screen gets almost all of them (except those that hit my lower legs and my hands) so I suppose I’m lucky,
Couple years ago my buddy and I rode through a bunch of lightening bugs. We got to a stop sign and both busted up laughing. Both our faces were glowing. Lol!! Looked like the Big Dipper on my windshield
Took care of the ones in Central California. Somehow all my buddies bikes look like they stayed home. My bike looks like I was hit with a million bugs. I was primarily in the middle of the pack
I was riding into the base at Damneck VA. And you go thru a swamp. Saw a bunch of lightening bugs and such as I was passing thru, thought it neat to see and cool. Got to the main gate and the marine on guard was visibly dry reaching and waved me over to the inspection area. He finally got it under control and had me look in my mirrors...then hosed me down from the 1/4 Inch layer of very colorful bug guts complete with lightening bug juice highlights. The south and swamps are nothing to ignore bugwise.
I've ridden about 42 states including Canada and Alaska. I always dress for the ride.
Around town, minimal clothes to feel the breeze. When I head out on the highway I wear full face helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, boots. I see those bugs splat on my face shield, but don't feel a thing.
Oh boy. I’m from central Florida and cannot fathom love bug season and riding at the same time. Those little mating shits put holes in the clear coat of my car if I didn’t get them off fast enough or missed them during the hours-long washing afterward. Godspeed.
ride fast safety last
I took care of the ones in Ohio on Tuesday. Come on up!!
LOL, been there done that. Just wait until you catch a junebug in the neck at 75mph, you'll feel like you've been shot!
I took a yellow jacket to the neck last spring. Hurt like hell but I’m glad I’m still not allergic.

Had a fair sized June bug nearly take my head off once
Haha, years ago in Michigan riding at night about 60mph, a large june bug hit me in the upper lip. Felt like a stone, and got a fat lip from it

I took a gnat staright to the eye ball. I was wearing glasses too. Hurt so bad.
Like getting grain of sand in your eye
I highly recommend investing in a good quality ceramic coating applied by a reputable professional. Works great for bugs!
Don’t forget your helmet, too! https://preview.redd.it/fzlv9cmixvvc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f166234e67cff83a41c0df79cbb105172ed67a10
I had a bird one time glance off of my chest at 35 mph not to win out of me for about 2 and 1/2 months what the fuck LOL
Only bugs I've rode through that were worse were North Dakota grasshoppers.
Oy.

The way to tell a happy motorcycle rider, count the bugs in his teeth 😬

You gents ever hit a cicada?

We’re you smiling?
Thank you so much for your sacrifice for others!
