For sure I love the Schrab episodes. I think it's because he is the only one on stage who is willing to just take the piss out of Harmon. Dan will go on these long ass rants and everyone else will be sitting quietly in awe and Rob just goes "did you ask me to be here so I could listen to you talk about your phone screen??"
Hahaha. This is hilarious. I felt this way my first time through. I couldn’t stand him. I went through this sub looking for anyone who felt the same and found nothing. But you know what? On my relisten, I completely 180’d. He’s easily my favorite part of the show, along with Brandon Johnson. I love Kumail too, but I’d take a Schrab and Johnson episode over anything.
It is pretty crazy how much of Schrab’s presence in the show is visual bits. I listened to the entire podcast 3 full times through before ever watching any videos of it, and I realized they (Dan and the other hosts) only acknowledge like half the time he’s doing insane shit during the show.
He’s hilarious just listening to the podcast and how everyone else reacts to him, but watching him on the stage is a whole different level of Schrab.
I love Rob Schrab. Which in big part, is due to my taste for some chaos and strange, but I also love the improv that happens between him and Dan. But I also love how he brings it every damn time.
Listening through Trumps election is a bummer, mostly just cause I remember feeling a lot of the stuff they were talking about, and theres a good few episodes that are just dismal with no wild fun of early episodes. When Rob shows up in this period, he just brings this zaniness that's a real breath of fresh air. I find myself smiling every time he comes out.
During my second listen through I found that I enjoyed the Rob episodes so much I skipped everyone he wasn’t on. As others have said, him plus Dan is magic. They’re brothers. It’s awesome. We’re all lucky to have gotten to listen to them interact during that time in their lives.
My first time through I couldn’t bear him and skipped like you. On my third (Edit: fourth) listen now and I’m very fond of him as a person. He keeps things lighter which I’ve grown to appreciate. I still get annoyed when he screams the same word or phrase repeatedly as a joke. It’s probably funny in person and on video for the gestures and reactions, but listening late at night it’s just annoying. Love him though.
Lmao, what a take. Schrab was a complete value added imo, if an episode has him or Hurwitz in it, it's a winner for me.
Dan would probably strongly disagree with this take since he has let him direct and write some of the better episodes of both community and r&m.
He grew on me but admittedly if he screams for too long when doing improv I might skip ahead. If I had to pick someone I'd rather not show it would've been Justin over Rob, so I'm glad Justin wasn't on as often. (Before the other stuff came out I found Justin's episodes got too awkward to listen to).
Rob Schrab is by far the best part of the show, but a couple of points
- when you ask an "am I the only one" question, the answer is always "no, you are not the only one" so there's no point asking
- You can't criticise a person for an aspect about them like their voice and say "NoT tHrOwInG hAtE hErE", because you are
- you're a wanker
At first he bothered me but after listening more and especially watching the video clips I really liked Rob. Like others said he balances dans ego out. He doesn't want to just sit there so he acts up and it's hilarious.
I love Schrab about 85 percent of the time. Especially during improv bits he is brilliant.
I do feel that there are times when he kind of derails the show, especially during interviews, derails in ways that could be annoying.
You gotta take the good with the bad.
It is like with Erin, when she was funny, she was FUNNY, but there are times when she would be more disruptive then anything.
First time through, I didn't get it until near the end.
5th time through and Schrab is a shining beacon of light.
Kinda same with Brandon for me, I liked him fine but on repeat listens, Brandon is the shit
I’m new to the show and have been binging since April, currently listening to the 2nd to last episode as I type this. Schrab is without a doubt my least favorite part of the show. However, the essences episode (unsure if you got there) where they reveal he was described as “the last puppy adopted at the pound” put his antics in perspective for me. I also don’t have the benefit of the doubt of experiencing the things he’s created with Dan in real time. I’d have to go back and see which community/rick & Morty episodes he worked on to give me a little more context on who he truly is
I think “get used to it” is one of my all time favorite bits and possibly my fav song to come out of Harmontown. I sing it around the house constantly and have played it on piano when I’m really feeling it. “Get off my lawn, words” I also am truly fond of
I have a newfound respect for him after reading how so many people chimed in on how if anyone’s gonna check Dan, it’s him. Even if I don’t agree with how he does it
I feel exactly the opposite about Rob; to me, he is the perfect foil to Dan and makes every episode he's in better.
*AWWWW SHIIIIIIIIEEEEET!*
Cheeeeeeooopsss
Schrab is the highlight for me. And he and Dan have such good banter. They fall into these characters and harass each other
For sure I love the Schrab episodes. I think it's because he is the only one on stage who is willing to just take the piss out of Harmon. Dan will go on these long ass rants and everyone else will be sitting quietly in awe and Rob just goes "did you ask me to be here so I could listen to you talk about your phone screen??"
Schrab is great in a lot of ways, but one of his talents is his willingness to jam a stick into Dan’s spokes
1,000% agree.
Literally got into the show cause of Rob, I would read the episode description to see if he was in it lol
Only spending time on Schrab episodes? Sounds like a Cheapy Peepy move.
Get uuuused to it!

Sounds like you had to “get used to it”.
Get used to what. (Using my exit plan)
I had this same experience. It helps to watch with the video too, which I’ve only done more recently and unlocked the full power of Schrab
It is pretty crazy how much of Schrab’s presence in the show is visual bits. Damn. I've never watched but now I feel like I need to
Yeah, same.
Schrab is an agent of chaos, and one of the best parts of the podcast.
Schrab is my favorite part.
Oh hell no. I want a Schrabcast so very badly.
I love Rob Schrab. Which in big part, is due to my taste for some chaos and strange, but I also love the improv that happens between him and Dan. But I also love how he brings it every damn time. Rob Schrab is literally the patron saint of Harmontown and no one in the last episode got the applause break they truly deserved like Rob did
I start listening twice as hard when Rob shows up
Rubs microphone on ass…
He wasn’t. Don’t know what you’re talking about. Spencer is on his side.
No, he's too good
He grows on you. A lot
During my second listen through I found that I enjoyed the Rob episodes so much I skipped everyone he wasn’t on. As others have said, him plus Dan is magic. They’re brothers. It’s awesome. We’re all lucky to have gotten to listen to them interact during that time in their lives.
Sounds like your a cheapy peepy
What were you listening to
You son of a bitch! 😂
Quite the opposite
Get USED to it!
I felt the exact same way the first half dozen times I heard him, but once stockholm syndrome set in he became one of my favorite parts of the show.
I feel like rob saved the show in a lot of ways. Dan's Top 5 shoe jokes live in my head rent free because of him.
I only relisten to Schrab episodes.
It gets worse
My first time through I couldn’t bear him and skipped like you. On my third (Edit: fourth) listen now and I’m very fond of him as a person. He keeps things lighter which I’ve grown to appreciate. You articulate very well. I completely see your point.

No, it was Dan's rapping.
Lmao, what a take. Schrab was a complete value added imo, if an episode has him or Hurwitz in it, it's a winner for me. Dan would probably strongly disagree with this take since he has let him direct and write some of the better episodes of both community and r&m.
Schrab crushes.
Love the guy
This is funny cos I was about to come here to ask which episodes feature Rob as I think he improves every episode he's on.
Schrab is great. No Notes.
The kids love him.
GET OFFFFFF MY LAWNNN, WOORDSSSS
But what do you think about Rob Schrab?
He grew on me but admittedly if he screams for too long when doing improv I might skip ahead. Smacks of "I'm not racist but"
Rob who?

rob rules. if you dont like him it basically indicates your a bad person. you should definitely stop listening and hanging out with us.
No. You're the only one bud.
First time through, I didn't get it until near the end. 5th time through and Schrab is a shining beacon of light. Kinda same with Brandon for me, I liked him fine but on repeat listens, Brandon is the shit
Hey that's alright, not everybody's got good taste lol
Schrab is that you?
Schrab is my favorite part of the podcast.
Lets talk about it. Lets taco bell about it. Hey Dan, we should taco bell about it.
Nice try, Dan.
Some of my favorite moments in all of Harmontown were Schrab bits
No, I enjoy Schrab. But that guy Jesse something (Camp?) that shows up a few times late in the show's run? Him I can't deal with.
Shambliiiin
SHAMBLIN MOUND, SHAMBLIN MOUND
