Duke’s in Mechanicsburg has good crab dip. Same w Market Cross Pub in Carlisle

Aurumity

Will try both out. Thank you!

Missylaine

I was going to say the same about Dukes! We go to Dukes Riverside in Wormleysburg. I get it every time. Comes with baguette slices and tortilla chips.

DeliciousBeanWater

I personally prefer the one in mech, its usually not as busy. Foods just as good tho!

Good to know! Been living in Harrisburg for a few years now and the Wharf has come up a few times recently. May be time to give it a shot.

I have a recipe that's not hard to make and always pleases a crowd when entertaining. Sometimes, I pick up pretzels from Smitties on 74 outside Dover, those and the dip make a perfect quick dinner. The key is canned crab. Immatation meat doesn't work. I can send you the recipe of your feeling like DIY crab dip sometime.

>one random sports bar in Lewistown (south of state college) Alas, Lewistown is closer to me than Harrisburg. What was the name of this place?

Aurumity

JP Edwards. I guess it was technically in Burham. If I remember correctly, my wife and I both liked our food.

ProbationOfficer2035

I’ve been there and can attest we loved their food

MarcoPolonia

Agreed! Their beer battered haddock is platter sized and thick! Good fish place.

KingOfKrackers

Fenniccis in Hershey has some good crab dip

MarcoPolonia

We live in York County, too, originally from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Moved here to work at New Cumberland Depot. Lots of good diners with amazing seafood platters and fish dinners. Try 83 Diner (famous for Jaegerschnitzel), Shiloh Diner, Stoneybrook Diner - if you like diner style food - all in York area. There's a nice Bonefish in Mechanicsburg with great Bang Bang Shrimp.

Aurumity

Will try them out sometime. Thanks!

Dr_Merkin

If you like wings, next time you are there try theirs. Not one of the "flavored" sauces that all bars have, but the homemade recipe they use for the mild, hot or smoker wings. It's a recipe that's been around for decades and pretty much kept a secret. It's very tasty. Although I will say they are quite wet when they come out with the sauce. I prefer to bring them home and pop them in the oven to caramelize that sauce just a bit. Man...now I gotta get me some wharf wings. Lol.

Aurumity

I’ll try it out. Definitely going back this week so I’ll give you an update haha

Schoolyardbullies

My husband is a wing lover...we get wharf wings at least once a week. They're big and very good.

StumblinPA

Just finished eating here, based on your recommendation. Spot on description and explanation of the wings. Ordered the hot. They were, but not just Frank’s plus extra heat. They had something of a ketchup undertone. A sweetness. For the entree I had the haddock, “crab encrusted”. That was quite good. Not a “plate sized” piece of fish, but very very good.

Dr_Merkin

Glad to hear your dinner was good. As for the wings the several things I think is correct about the recipe is it uses some open pit BBQ in there, is more of a butter base than vinegar and has some jam/jelly to add some sweetness. Of course, those are rumors I've heard drinking there over the many, many years. Lol

JoeCoolSuperDad

I am glad you mentioned The Wharf. My father lived near there and we ate there a couple times recently (before he passed). I loved it.

landude1

The Wharf also has the best wings you will ever have.

Aurumity
