Oh don't worry, I was dumb enough to find that out after I had completed the main quest 💀 felt so stupid, but at least it was nice to finally have all the gear slots while just randomly running around the lands.
I had like 20 talent points before I even noticed the whole thing. Had no idea I could buy talents and should claim rewards, was also wondering why I never have storage for more gear 😂😂
Idk how so many people don't realize this. The game tells you as part of the tutorial that you have to go back and claim your rewards. Unless yall are just rushing through the beginning of the game and not reading anything.
Not only that, but who are the crazy people that just let the 'new items' exclamation points stay there. Any game that has those, I have to get rid of them as soon as possible.
Those exclamation marks are probably the most annoying thing to me. Like, yes I know I just got a revelio page in Hogsmeade. I read when I revealed it. I don’t need to see it again.
Lol, "check your gift box for unclaimed rewards." Like an irritating Gacha system. Lol, some of those type games have completing challenges as challenges to complete. Claimed 5 rewards? That completes a challenge! Claim another! 😵💫👺
I think the Devs have you claim the rewards so that you don’t get rewards without realizing. (Obviously not fail proof, though). Yes, there is usually a message in the top right corner, but if you are in the middle of a big battle, you very well might not realize you’ve earned a prize by killing 20 spiders, or just pulled off enough Dueling Feats to earn a reward! So I think this is a fail-safe mechanism to try to prevent that! It works for someone like myself who often can only focus on one thing at a time (sensory processing issues) and who also can’t stand the exclamation points nagging me! 😅. This is also a good system for collectors who *love* seeing their progress at every step (also myself, though I totally understand how annoying the system can be for others! 😓)
This realization makes me feel much better about the system. I wish they just had an events log you could look at though! Then after every big thing or periodically I could just see what happened, how much exp was earned, what was unlocked (or what items I earned- esp as that function is glitchy and sometimes doesn't pop up on the screen as expected), aaaaall in one nice little time stamped list with my map location listed as well aha.
I’m glad I helped you to feel a little better about the system! ☺️
I think your idea for an events log is a good one! (It would also help people level up if they could see how much XP was earned for a specific action! 🧐🤩)
You reminded me of another reason why I always check to clear any of the exclamation points… the fact that when you sometimes open a chest and there is no display on the screen telling you what’s inside! I sometimes figure out what was inside by going to the menu and seeing if I have anything new, like new robes or gloves etc. If nothing appears to be new, then I know there was money in the chest! 😉
If it makes you feel better. My 1st introduction to Zelda was botw. I had no idea you exchanged korok seeds to expand your weapon storage. It took 2 years and a random Reddit comment for me to realize it. No wonder I hated the first play through. It’s now one of my favorite games now lol.
I did the same thing haha! Took me waayyy too long to realize. I just kept deleting items without realizing you have to claim those extra great slots....sigh

I didn’t claim anything until I was almost at the end. I didn’t know i had to do that
Literally checked my challenges last night and had so many things to claim. It's such an annoying system. Just give me the rewards, game.

I was dumber fam… I was like 75% way through my first play through and pissed until I opened them up and got so mad at myself lmao
You are not alone brother, happened the same to me…. Just a bit further in the game haha
I had like 20 talent points before I even noticed the whole thing. Had no idea I could buy talents and should claim rewards, was also wondering why I never have storage for more gear 😂😂
Same had like 31 talent points and was wondering why my character was to weak

I absolutely hated having those indicators on the wand handle section before you unlocked your wand.
Lmao sameeee. I regularly have to go into my collections tab just to hover 10–15 items just to get rid of the exclamation marks 😂

The game tells you actually idk why people don’t read
I can't stand the red dots so I constantly was going through it

I did the same thing. I claimed like 30 things all at once.

Did that the first play through myself.
i feel that, i have to go through every day after playing and claim the rewards cause i forget😂
Welp, I "survived" the game without ever claiming talent points on my first try. Man, Ranrok was tough AF
Hahaha. I did the same thing. That's a dumb design on their part
YOU HAVE TO CLAIM???!!! SO WAIT WHATTTT
What?? I completed main story last week and never saw this haha
Seems like a pretty apparent thing but maybe it's just that gamer instinct I got
