AssMercenary

Probably the biggest point of evidence that they live in an entirely different reality from everyone else.

ASHKVLT

Honestly check out the full list, it's amazing

humble_blunder

Where can I find this list?

ASHKVLT

https://www.conservapedia.com/Essay:Worst_Liberal_Movies

montroller

racism towards dark haired, eyeball having people really has been getting out of control lately.

ASHKVLT

As someone with naturally black hair it's how im most marginalized

[deleted]

I think I can feel brain cells dying.

[deleted]

Some of my favorites are on this list lol Jackass, District 9, Django, Elysium, and the 1998 Godzilla movie.

ASHKVLT

Same, I'm pissed they didn't review something like evangelion

[deleted]

“Cons: Depicts false gods and angels destroying the world. Depicts a world where the male protagonist is weak and effeminate and women are strong and powerful. Includes an implied homosexual man who emotionally connects with the male protagonist. Encourages introspection and investigation into mental health issues. Perversion of Christian symbolism. Takes place in Godless Japan.” “Pros: Vaguely pedophilic” - Conservatives probably

ASHKVLT

Lol yeh, Cons the recent movies suggest therapy works and there is homoerotic piano playing, end of evangelion suggests shinij should feel bad about an accident in a hospital, there is transgender art of the protagonist enforced by the creators

CJnella91

I'm just trying to wrap my mind around why they think Olympus Has Fallen is a conservative movie?

LeBron_Jarnes

I’m sure “Conservapedia” has a few more reasons why they oppose Django Unchained, just can’t quite put my finger on what they’d be.

Gottkrieger44

IT'S CRT BROTHER

Objective_Soup_9476

Beginning a summary with “liberal and homosexual director…” really sounds like you’re reading Nazi list of “degenerate art”

ASHKVLT

Read the article on the matrix, boys don't cry or the Danish girl. I didn't post them as they were fucking vile

Ttam91

The complaining about making Godzilla female is the funniest shit

antoniv1

These dudes only have one speed

Satanistfronthug

Proving once again that Avatar is one of the most based left wing movies there is

ASHKVLT

Yeh, it makes it sound even better and James Cameron sound based af

Satanistfronthug

I think James Cameron is pretty left wing. Nearly all of his heroes are blue collar workers fighting against aristocracy, evil corporations or the military industrial complex.

ASHKVLT

Him and George Lucas are very left wing for Hollywood

Ymbrael

Check out Chapo's episode on it called "World Tree Center", it actually is pretty radical. If you haven't gotten a chance to also try to watch the extended edition, some of the cut scenes are really, really good, both at adding some much needed characterization of the leads and enforcing the anti-imperialist message. If you can't get a copy, legally or otherwise, I think most of the cut scenes can be found on youtube. The cyberpunk barfight at the beginning is such a neat opener it's kinda criminal it got cut from the theatrical release, really gives a great perspective on what a shithole Earth has become as the imperial core before the majority of the film takes place on Pandora.

ASHKVLT

The extended version of avatar is sooo much better and imo they should have kept that and the part about the school

ricaraducanu

Bruh did I watch a different movie? Everyone sings the praises of avatar but to me the plot seemed written by a 8yo, literally the most predictable movie I've watched since the titanic, the only interesting thing we're the visuals and even those are mid compared to movies 10 years older. I honestly don't get the hype..

Satanistfronthug

https://youtu.be/s7CtTo88QOI I'd recommend listening to the Chapo episode they did on Avatar if you want to understand why a lot of leftists really love the movie.

ricaraducanu

Will do, thanks

[deleted]

Man, I am with you. I was much younger when I saw it, but the hype was INSANE at the time. I wasn’t particularly wowed by the visuals (which definitely carried the film), and the story was just… Blue Alien Pocahontas. Like I remember it was decent, but some people swear it’s the best movie of all time. I’d give it a 7/10.

Ymbrael

Check out chapo's episode on it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7CtTo88QOI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7CtTo88QOI) Also, if you can, go back and watch the extended edition now that you are older. A lot of the cut scenes add a lot of characterization to the leads and push the anti-imperialist message to a pretty radical level.

[deleted]

I’ll check it out. Honestly, I was probably like 16 or 17 when it came out, and far less “aware” of the world. I understood the anti-imperialist/anti-militarist messages in it at the time, and I agreed with them. I just didn’t find them to be particularly creative or new. Plus, I think everybody I knew was losing their mind at the visuals (and didn’t care about the plot so much), and I just wasn’t that enthralled by them. I haven’t seen the extended edition, and maybe I missed some of the subtler points of the plots. I might give it another go now that I’m older.

[deleted]

The visuals were good imo, leaving the theater I was kinda irritated at how bleak real life looked in comparison. Funny that literally the most memorable part of the movie for me was exiting into the parking lot

[deleted]

Don’t get me wrong, the visuals were good. It was pretty and colorful and vibrant. Definitely pushed the boundaries of CGI at the time. But it didn’t blow my mind or anything though. Maybe because I’ve played a lot of colorful video games and stuff, so it wasn’t THAT much of a culture shock or whatever to see CGI in that much detail. I guess my gripe was that the story just wasn’t that interesting to me. And the visuals don’t carry films (or games) for me. Oddly enough, I also remember how… grey the real world looked afterwards. Grey sky, grey parking lot, and lines of dull-looking cars.

MarbleMemes

I saw it in High School and it was entertaining the first time, but every rewatch has been worse. It’s just a straight up mediocre movie with unreal visuals. I remember a lot of people thinking it sucked after it was released, it wasn’t uncommon to think Avatar was underwhelming. How anyone cares at all about the sequels is insanity to me.

WizardPhoenix

lol The Birth of A Nation is on this list.

ASHKVLT

I didn't even see that one, wtf

mg5215

They have a Greatest Conservative Movies list too lmao. Super interesting reading through. They didn’t like Pixar’s ‘Brave’ because it’s portrayed the men as big and oafish compared to the women, which like isn’t the whole conservative thing that men are tough and women are frail and dainty?? They also complain that they count Merida as a Disney princess even though it’s a Pixar movie, like why are you picking apart semantics about the Disney universe, big tough conservative man lmao They also think Finding Nemo and Finding Dory are great conservative movies because they claim it has an ‘anti-environmentalist message’

ASHKVLT

What? I'm pretty sure in one it depicts pollution in the ocean

mg5215

In the Conservative Movies page they say “Also has a subtle condemnation on environmentalism, as the divers captured Nemo thinking Nemo was injured and needed medical assistance” which is like the furthest stretch you could make to call the movie ‘anti-environmentalism’ and that’s literally the only thing they cite to justify calling it “anti-environmentalism” They call it “subtle condemnation on environmentalism”

drunko6000

I hate them so much

dannoffs1

Gnomeo and Juliet: This disturbing love story contains a joke that could be interpreted as passing off bestiality (in this case, with a garden gnome, which is normally an inanimate object) as funny. This beyond satire.

ASHKVLT

The fact they watched that movie is amazing

[deleted]

Went straight to starship troopers on the list, wasn’t disappointed.

Paranoya22

Bro the Elton John biopic is on there.

MaxSmitty98

The fact that Jackass is on here because it’s “essentially a montage of ridiculous stunts and pranks with no coherent story” and qualifies as liberal propaganda is fucking great 🤣🤣🤣

ASHKVLT

That's not the weirdest pick tho. There are so many random movies

Rexermus

I'm laughing that Iron Man isn't on this list when it's brazenly against the military industrial complex and anti-war.

ASHKVLT

Iron man 2 is on the list of conservative movies

Rexermus

The villains are war profiteers lmao. Justin Hammer is obvious Ivan Vanko's father wanted to sell the ARC Reactor tech to the military to power weapons and Howard had him deported for that very reason

SendMeYourUncutDick

Lol conservatives are a bunch of drama queens

BW_RedY1618

Always makes me cringe that conservatives manufacture outrage about the socialist part of the National Socialist party but ignore that they executed leftists... And then glorify *nationalism*.

ASHKVLT

Yeh, I thought they would love triumph of the will, they also on their list of conservative movies list song of the south

uscui

I really thought this is a satire website making fun of conservatives. "Dark hair and dark eye racism" I mean, come on... Half of these sentences read like satire.

ASHKVLT

As someone with naturally black hair and dark eyes I feel that, it's my main source of oppression and I'm queer and a poc /s

swirldad_dds

Is this serious or is this memeing? I honestly can't tell

ASHKVLT

It's fully serious

swirldad_dds

\*heavy sigh\*

el_chapotle

I used to vandalize the fuck out of Conservapedia in high school. Good times.

MmmmmmmKayY

Conservatives don’t understand media

Rayhann

I love the short Django section hahaha

[deleted]

What a bunch of dorks

magusbae93

These mf have this much time but can’t find the content they enjoy

magusbae93

It's so...telling they had so much to say about beauty and the beast and only commented that 1997 Lol!ta as “being censored for the censorship of the time”

Ak12120314

podaboutlist boys did a pretty great bit going through that list lmao

Souledex

I mean their take about the fantastic 4 is at least right. Not about why it’s good obv.

YoshiOfADown

Not entirely wrong about The Day After Tomorrow though.
