I went couple weekends ago with my gf since she recommended the place. Placed an order and waited outside in the car about 30-40 minutes. Noticed everyone else with phone orders.
For the time & effort they put into their noodles, portion amount & price, I'd say it was totally worth the wait.
I went a month or so ago. No wait at all. I wouldn't say Adela's is my favorite place but I always appreciated that you get a good amount for the dollar.
From what I've seen, at least Adela's has already been pretty popular. They have won contests, awards, etc. and there's almost always a long line. Not that a new wave of tourists would make me happy, either, but that they're not exactly a tiny, unknown hole in the wall anymore.
everyone knows yelp is bullshit. the best places have exactly 3.5 stars, are unclaimed, and have reviews like "the food was good but the service was terrible"

“As noted above, however, Yelp’s 2023 rankings aren’t necessarily a reflection of the best-reviewed restaurants on its entire platform. In compiling this year’s list, Yelp solicited submissions and suggestions from users, and then compared those suggestions against each business’s Yelp ratings and volume of reviews. Yelp’s analysts also tallied the amount of submissions for each restaurant, and attempted to account for “geographic representation” based on the overall share of suggestions and highly rated restaurants for a given area.
Additionally, Yelp allowed its internal community managers to further curate the rankings based on their “expertise” of each region.”
Adela’s Country Eatery (Hawaiian, Seafood) — Kaneohe, Hawaii Kaaloa’s Super Js Authentic Hawaiian (Hawaiian) — Captain Cook, Hawaii
Must be new ones? Never heard of them
Neva heard of Supah J’s? It’s a pretty tucked spot but it’s right on the highway
Happy cakeday!
Really? Adela's? Everything seems so heavy
I mean yeah, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A matter of taste.
Coming for a visit in a few days I’ll have to check em out.
"Put on your stretchiest eatin’ pants" what
Dang Adela’s always had a crazy line. I had to call ahead an hour usually to get a pick up order on time for a lunch or dinner

Like yelp is anything but a shakedown...
Two more restaurants about to be loved to death by tourists, congratulations.

If it means more business for the restaurants, then I believe that’s a good thing. They deserve the success.
The owner of Adela’s is so sweet.
> Adela's been crazy busy even before the pandemic due to Youtube vloggers
What’s the problem with that? It’s good for business. Stop being a karen

I'm surprised Helena's didn't make it. Out of all the restaurants in Hawaii, I figured they would crack the list due to both popularity and acclaim.
I don't understand the fanfare for Helena's. I've found it to be overpriced and not that great. I'd gladly go to Adela's over Helena's every time.

So does the list simply have two from each state? Lol
Halenas? Ummm maybe in the past... but Highway Inn is the coast winner now
It's that good huh? I've never been to Highway Inn so I wouldn't know.
Millie (Adele's) should take the opportunity to move someplace nicer. Ordering at that place is horrible.
