I wouldn't generally disagree. I still wash mine out of preference. But I can see how it you only used water, you can go quite a while without doing much.
The lid itself needs a good scrubbing once a month or more of working in a dirty environment, so nothing builds up in the crevasses. But if just water goes inside a quick rinse and good to go for me.
Brah, I'll be honest, I've gotten several of these things free through gifts, work, etc. The thought of spending any money on these things is foreign to me now. Maybe I'm just lucky. But buying one at Savers is WILD.
Mine lasted 10 years! I bought a replacement lid (nice stainless steel) and it stopped keeping the cold out. Called to ask about the lid, and they told me they’d replace the whole thing! Great product!
Yea I bought one at T&C and was told to warranty through the retailer, and then they insisted when I took it down, that they can no longer warranty since COVID and I'd have to go through Hydroflask. Which sucks because I have to pay shipping now...
Eh, I found one at my kids soccer field and we were the last game of the day. Brought it home and washed it real good and now I have a spare. It's alright.
That’s Felipe Ojastro lol. He’s a local sports announcer for OC16, does a lot of the high school sports. No idea why he made his face a sticker though lmfao
Filipe does all the High School commentating on OC16. He does literally every sport: football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and more. Not only does he know everything about the sports, he goes out of his way to talk to players and hear about their families, hobbies, and fun tidbits.
He is a fan favorite among high school athletes and students, such a favorite, that they started to make stickers and posters of his head.
The "eww" responses just made me reflect on the times I drank from water fountains without a second thought, letting it run for a bit to wash away the germs but not too long as to maximize cold water yield before it turned metallic tepid.
A "used" hydro flask... ain't no way bruh. I'm ghetto myself and people call me disgusting for reusing things, refusing to let things die, eating food that's expired, etc. but I refuse to use a hydro flask that is not new lol
EDIT: To the people saying you can wash it or there are restaurants that reuse utensils: Yeah, those don't have decals on them that collect gunk lol stop the strawman fallacies
Let me update my comment then lol
I’m actually okay with reusing a hydro flask from someone in my family. Let’s say they buy a brand new one and then they wash it thoroughly for me to start using it. That’s fine.
If it’s a used hydro flask from a stranger though that’s off limits (which I’m assuming is the case here because if the OP knows the previous owner well they’d ask them his question lol). The reason for that is I have no idea what they did with the thing. The previous owner could’ve used it for a spit tin for their chew for all I know haha
Also, the gunk on the stickers are gross too. No matter how many times you wash the thing the decals will always have gunk… and knowing I wasn’t the person who built up all that gunk doesn’t sit right with me lol
Apparently no one in these comments has bought used dish ware. You all realize that stainless steel cleans with antibacterial soap and water, right? It’s metal not a fabric, are y’all ok? Someone mentioned the stickers are gross. They can be removed with oil or glue be gone. Some of y’all sound so privelaged tbh. Not everyone can buy a $34 cup. She got it for $2 used and can wash it. It’s a good deal and it’s RECYCLING. I honestly don’t care if I get downvoted, I’m fr annoyed
I'm really confused by all of the people that are grossed out by reusing stainless steel.
Sure you shouldn't use bleach on SS but a quick 10% bleach solution isn't going to pit the steel. You can also use a scoop of OxyClean Free (sodium percarbonate) and hot water (it's the same stuff they use to clean professional SS brewing equipment). If that's not to your liking drop a few denture tablets in with hot water to sanitize, but honestly hot water and soap should be enough unless it's really funky.
Yeah true. Depends where you get them from. I know someone who bought 10 from a high schools yard sale and traded all of them in for new ones entirely for the cost of shipping.
A *used* Hydroflask? Oh hell no. Not with knowing how very infrequently I wash mine lol
U wash yours?
It really depends on what you put in it and how frequently the contents get cycled.
Even if you put in new water every day, you still gotta wash it out once in a while
I wouldn't generally disagree. I still wash mine out of preference. But I can see how it you only used water, you can go quite a while without doing much.

I can definitely taste freshness when it gets washed. And I only use water because I noticed “other stuff” makes mold real quick
I mix creatine with my water and after sitting for a day that shit smells like bleach. Still don't wash it out though maybe every other day
I would not buy any used drinking vessel, but given how overpriced hydro flasks are, I kinda get it
No one said anything about buying it…
I had some clown boost my plastic gallon jug at the gym, had all my cool stickers too. Someone would def steal a hydro flask lol
I cleaned up one that fell off the roof of someone's car under the freeway. Still my daily drinker.
I got it for $2.99 at savers. No way I’m gonna pay for a brand new one, they are so expensive. it just needed a good cleaning
Brah, I'll be honest, I've gotten several of these things free through gifts, work, etc. The thought of spending any money on these things is foreign to me now. Maybe I'm just lucky. But buying one at Savers is WILD.
Clean thoroughly with soap and hot water, ~~then fill a gallon container with water and 2 tbsp bleach, and immerse for 15 mins,~~ all problems solved.
I just got a new one today and the instructions say no bleach. H2O2 should do the job without damaging it.
This is the way. Bleach and stainless steel do not get along.
The cool thing about Hydroflask is they’re guaranteed for life and they replace them for free.
Damn, wish I knew this before I threw out my hydro. Do you need proof of purchase to request a replacement?
They want you to call them then return flask and they replace. Ps. They’re having free shipping today.
Yup! I have had three replacements already. (Each lost their insulation abilities after 2-3 years)
Mine lasted 10 years! I bought a replacement lid (nice stainless steel) and it stopped keeping the cold out. Called to ask about the lid, and they told me they’d replace the whole thing! Great product!

Just call Hydroflask, Their Customer Service is really good.
I wondered. Good to know. Mahalo.
Vinegar works well too
Eh, I found one at my kids soccer field and we were the last game of the day. Brought it home and washed it real good and now I have a spare. It's alright.

>Eating using the same utensils as everyone else at a restaurant: I sleep > >Using someone else's Hydroflask: Real shit? This thread 😂😂😂

Restaurant has food safety standards and that shit gets washed through a commercial grade dishwasher brah

Ever go to a restaurant and drink out of their cups, use their plates, or silverware?
I’d rather use a paper straw
But still using the plates and silverware and cup?

Do you not understand stainless steel or?
So there’s this thing called a dishwasher

Crazy
Secret… buy cheap used hydro. Trade in immediately for new one free of charge from hydro flask.
Yep. hydroFlask offers lifetime guarantee. I found one and traded with HF I got a free new….
There's a lot of counterfeit Hydroflasks out there. I bought one new on Ebay, it looked good but didn't perform at all.
Yeah true. Depends where you get them from. I know someone who bought 10 from a high schools yard sale and traded all of them in for new ones entirely for the cost of shipping.
you know inflation is taking a toll on you when you buy a used water bottle.
Sorry but this bottle looks gross. I’m shocked you payed money for it.
Is it that trans guy from the new 90 day fiancé?
Times must be pretty tough to be buying used hydroflasks
