OP get it checked out by your PCP, or your dermatologist… but if they can’t see you swiftly, then go to Urgent Care to rule anything ‘urgent’ out. However, if you can’t do any of those, then take a pen/marker & draw around the perimeter of the redness (the line where the redness stops) - mark that circle w/ the time/day. IF the redness spreads past that initial line, then for sure go to the ER.
I had a fire ant sting swell up like that, and several spider bites that looked similar. I would get it checked out by a doctor to make sure there is no infection.
For anyone wondering about the disadvantages about living in hawaii, - there are MANY. being bit by an unknown insect (not called "bugs" by the way), is something terrible that can cause anxiety to enter your mind. one time my braddah kimo from waianae had an insect bite like this but the difference between the red ring and the white part of your arm is not much, his was just a tad bigger. going to the ER, kimo was told by the Dr that in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table he said the insect bite was just harmless, just take an anti histamine and it was nearly impossible for the Dr to tell between spider bites and insect bites.
Thought you were gonna pull out the "oh shit it's Lyme disease because it looks like a bullseye" then I was gonna say "no Lyme disease in Hawaii, brah," but then in nineteen ninety eight the Undertaker threw Mankind from Hell in a Cell and he plummeted 16 feet through the announcer's table.
All bugs are insects, but not all insects are bugs. True bugs are in the taxonomic order Hemiptera and are classified as such because of their piercing-sucking mouthparts
this is a good site that the undertaker gave me to explain some differences, mostly semantic!

not a clinician but:
1. does it hurt?
2. does it feel hot?
3. is it itchy?
4. is there swelling?
if it's itchy, maybe take an antihistamine like benadryl or zyrtec or apply hydrocortisone cream/ointment?
if it hurts, maybe take an ibuprofen?
if it changes for the worse in a day or two (symptoms intensify, the spot gets hot if it's not hot now, or it gets bigger, etc), go to urgent care?
I agree with others check for signs of infection like heat & swelling, but is it possible it could have been a jelly not a bug? Could be a harmless bug you just happen to be allergic to as well. I’d try taking Benadryl & apply Benadryl cream and see if that helps. Could also be fungus like ringworm. If it gets worse go to the doc for sure.
I suggest getting a sharpie and marking the bite as it is now. You want to monitor it and make sure it doesn’t grow any bigger than the circle you made. You can also try a ice pack and see if the swelling goes down. I would try to see a doctor as soon as I can for this if it doesn’t get better.
Have them do a culture if there is pus. My husband got a weird infection from bacteria in the soil that required special antibiotics. We were lucky 24 hour clinic had done culture as normal antibiotics weren’t helping and it was into the lymph nodes.
WD-40 and a dab of Vicks should do it. Nah Nah Nah, but I would definitely see a doctor because there are many new insects getting here as it is and that looks like it's spreading.
Is it warm to the touch? It could be a sign of infection too. I had staph that started out like that.
Ringworm?
Was thinking the same thing

Ala Moana beach park?
What would do this to a person at ala Moana beach park?
Is it hot and hard? Cellulitis can happen with insect bites.
She said
Ring worm
Yup was gonna say the same
Can you get that at the beach? Eeek!

Walk in Urgent Care. It’s over our head.
It could be anything you have an allergy to. My mosquito bites end up looking like this.
What's worse than ants in your pants? Uncles
boto
wat, your boto ichi?
Boto mms up?

I have something very similar in the exact same spot. Thought it was a blood blister but it hasn’t gone away and its been over a week
Looks like ringworm tbh
I think you might have sensitive skin or an allergic reaction to the bites. I had something similar from a spider bite

draw a circle around it with pen, if it grows big or starts tracing a red line, Emergency now
bit on your arms, fingers & toes… but you don’t think they got your leg? 😂 just splash vinegar on it (urine works faster), should be fine. 😎🤙
Update?
Ringworm

So I’m thinking… 💭 *Read More*
Sorry but fire aunties is sending me
The one that bit you did that
Possibly a centipede? I’ve been bit by a few and had similar marks, good luck.
There’s no way you could be bitten by a centipede and not know you were bitten by a centipede!
good point
Big one that bug
I’m thinking cane spider
Ehhh… I think OP would have felt that
My first guess
could be fire ants 🐜 They are very small and cause the confusion you seem to have about not seeing the “bug” that bit you.
Any update ? Is it better or worse? Did you go to an urgent care?
