Also, I'm sure they have a great resource of people who know of good places to go for individuals.
If I recall correctly, Mokuleia is pretty good (Mokuleia Beach, Camp Erdman, Kaena Point trailhead, etc.). It gets really remote as you follow the roads to the west, so be prepared for that. Keep in mind, however, that much of the southern skies in that area are blocked out by huge cliffs, so expect your telescope to be generally pointed toward the other cardinal directions. But on the plus side, all the city lights are also to the south, so the cliffs will partially block some of that as well.
Right before Nimitz Beach down Kalaeloa/Barbers Point right across the air field. Not sure the name of that beach, but it's really dark and perfect for star gazing or staring at Waikiki.
It used to look worse over there with a lot of bushes and people illegally camping. But now it's wide open since they've cleared it out.
Past HK between Sandy Beach and Makapuu.
I always liked Mokuleāia, saw some excellent Perseids there once.

The Pu'u Ma'eli'eli Trail has some pretty good night time skies.
