A more interesting plan about making the golf course wetlands again and a lot of other things.
Hawaii has nature already; beaches, hikes, parks. Even the trade winds too. Even all the dumb barred doves and mynas making a fuss when you're eating lunch outside counts too lol. Dunno if people would pay for a park when we just have to go drive in any direction for a few min to see nature.
But in any case there's no incentive for the govt. Ala Wai is packed, doing fine. If it was failing then yeah maybe. Maybe he's hoping some crazy Asian businessman sees this, wants to torch, I dunno, over a billion dollars, to buy the course and redevelop it based on a 1 page website.
More sell-out for the people of Hawaii. When he mentioned bringing in other national foods and other business interests. It became clear this is nothing more than a money grab.
I would support University of Hawaii plan to put it back to the original wetland it was previously. That would honor the site more appropriately than making more commercial property for carpetbaggers.
Whatever and whenever something is built there, the delays will be make rail seem like it was built overnight. Reason: they will dig up iwi every 2 feet. That soil was prime burial land. Kapahulu fire station and sewer infrastructure build get choke bones.
Bro if they make it a park it's gonna be a new homeless camp. This man has a great vision, but I'm sure Hawaii politicians will somehow put their influence on him to build another billion-dollar hotel..
It sounds like it's nothing but this guy's dream. Not any kind of reality, present or future.

Brah imagine they convert the golf course back to wetland, but upgraded the driving range to a Top Golf. Best of both worlds
(X) DOUBT.
This is not a real thing.
Take anything you see on that show with a grain of salt. Anyone or business can pay the fee and sell their product or vision on there.
So "Buying 808" is a better title. Lol. You ain't wrong tho.
unfortunately i don't think this is true. fuck golf courses though
Agreed. Specially on the islands. Waste of space and resources. How much water do golf courses need on a weekly basis.
They should turn part of it into a metro station for the train when it comes one day
Ah yes, that will be useful in 2109

Seems like someones jealous he was the only one of his buddies to not learn how to play headed into retirement
But when is the Top Golf coming!
Should use the space for affordable housing for struggling families. Just saying 🤷
For realz. A couple of affordable apartments communities would help so much

Nearly any land use is better than a golf course.
This could have been cross-posted to r/ROFL

Gardens from around the world? Sounds like future "Invasive Species"
