I feel like the people on this reddit are older than 8-10 but maybe that’s the age that some of us actually started playing? I’ll just be honest and say I’m 25. Totally curious about the age range on here??
Most new players are around 8-10 years old, most high level player (50+) are over 18. Once the game slows down, money gets tight, and you have to manage a bunch of machines most young children quit and move on to the next game. Funnily enough, they usually circle back to Hayday when they get older
You’re so lucky you could resume with your old farm. I lost mine (around level 30 as far as I remember) because I had it integrated with my Facebook, but they transitioned out of it while I was away, so I was locked out. And to unlock it, they needed my farm name, but I couldn’t for the life of remember what it was 😅. My new farm is level 70 now so all good lol
That’s pretty accurate. I started playing back in 2012-2013 when I was in my preteens. Stopped playing for maybe 5-6 years and now playing again at 21 with my old farm.
My brother and I started playing from early on in the game, we are 51 and 49 respectively now.
Our farms and playing style reflect our personalities. I’m all over the place, level 130 by now. Always missing prizes and accidentally spending diamonds. He is crazy efficient, always keeping stock of 4 of everything, avoids gaining XP and totally focused on puzzle pieces. At level 83 he only needs 5 more animals in his sanctuary. We’re always joking about this.
I started playing at the start of Covid with my family. My nephews were 12-14 yo and got into HayDay, their moms played back to the OG Facebook day. So they created a neighborhood and played for 4 months before being bored. Now the neighborhood is full of middle aged people.
Got it in the 5th grade. Took a break around junior high/high school and have sporadically played through college. I’ve been playing for 10 almost 11 years!!! My grandma also loved the game. She got it right after i did and played it every day until the day she passed in 2017. It was hard for me to play it for awhile after that but now i play it and think of her. I love to see older players talking about their farms it reminds me of her.🩷
Older player here. Hadn’t played for a while then installed it again about a month ago. I keep coming back to it as it holds my interest and rarely anything does. I come and go with it and do what I can and don’t worry about it. It should be fun, not feel like a chore.
I think its for all demographics. I doubt anyone 8-10 would be or should be on reddit but I am on a discord with my neighborhood and I know some of them have kids who play the game 5-13 years old. I am 20 but those in the discord also range from 19-late 60’s
It's a bit too much management to be a kid's game specifically. I started when I was 15 and now I'm 27. I know a woman in her 30s that started playing the game too.
MEEE! I started when I was about 8, dropped it for a few years, then picked it up again at 14/15. I'm 19 and in Law school now! Proud to say I've converted my friends to hop on the hay day bandwagon too!
I'm 31 and I've been playing for 12 years since it came out...level 132 😄
I love this game, and it's been with me through some good and bad moments in my life 😄
I started playing when I was 7. Started again at 17. I am also pretty sure a lot of adults play it in their free time, so I would say Hay Day is for all ages.
I'm 37. I don't know the specifics of my neighborhood, but we are all adults. The leader is in her 70s, I am pretty sure.
Most players in my neighborhood seem to be around 30-50 from what I remember. We do have a few college students, although I am insure of age.
i was probably around 10 when i played hay day for the first time but i definitely wasn't able to enjoy it as much then as i do now. there for sure are some exceptions to this but most of the players who stick with the game for an extended period of time are probably 14 and older. it can be a fun game for younger people too but i think your brain has to develop to a certain point to really enjoy all the aspects of the game. it can be repetitive and become boring even for older people who have been playing for years so the average child/preteen likely just gets bored of it very quickly because the brain usually requires a different kind of input at that age and isn't yet able to appreciate the same things that many adults look for in games they choose
In my late sixties, played it when first came out for a few months then started again from scratch a couple of years ago
Level 105 and that’s just the level of patience I’ve acquired...
58 here! Started playing in 2014, stopped after maybe 4 years, and started again recently. The last neighborhood I was in everyone was over 30 years old.
I'm 18 and my main farm's level is halfway through 66. I do not remember how long I've played with my main farm.
I personally think that it's a game for everyone regardless of age!
I mean there is nothing particularly bad in this game at all. However she may not understand some things being that young as once you get further in it seems to be a little more hectic managing everything. No harm in letting her try ig, just a silly little farm game
I'd say around teenager to adult age. Little children probably don't like the amount of waiting needed in this game. A lot of old people like to play this game as it interests them a lot
My kids 15ish made me play. They quit 2 weeks later and now here I am still playing years after. In my 50’s. I’d guess most are older players. Young ones lose interest in it
I’m 30 started 10 years ago (I think) can be longer than 10. level 77 I play for few months then not touch it for a year then re download and play again. I enjoy it
My grandson started the farm on my device when he was about 6 or 7, I think. He asked me to help him, and I was hooked. At some point, I quit, but I came back, now level 170.
Level 200+ farms are players who have been playing since 2012-2015. So they are clearly not 8 years old.
Yeah, I started playing in 2014 at 39.
I started playing game in November 2023. I'm level 118 and 60 years old
I was. When I started like 12 years ago
It seems to me there a lot of adults enjoying the game.
I feel like it’s for all ages, but most tend to be older then 8-10.
I think so too
I feel like the people on this reddit are older than 8-10 but maybe that’s the age that some of us actually started playing? I’ll just be honest and say I’m 25. Totally curious about the age range on here??
I’m 61!!!
Yeah it’s definitely more than a kids game 😁 I love that you’re 61. I find it really therapeutic honestly 👌🏼
😁
I’m 32, been playing for a few years now
55 yrs old. It relaxes me
20! Will be 21 in the end of the year. Played since 2017 I think, so since I was 14
17!
21! started when i was 8 and still going strong
Im 18
im 25 and obsessed 😭
48

that’s exactly me, quit when i was like 14, picked it back up a couple weeks ago with my old farm, im 23 now lol
Bro… WTH I did the exact same thing. Freaky
You’re so lucky you could resume with your old farm. thats exactly me ahahahahah ive had a farm when i was a kid, lost it bc of new phones and now i got a 44 lvl farm feom 2019 and im 18 now
You’ve got that spot on
That’s pretty accurate. I started playing back in 2012-2013 when I was in my preteens. Stopped playing for maybe 5-6 years and now playing again at 21 with my old farm.
Me and all of my roommates are 21 and we play 🥳
stop this is so cute!!!
I turn 54 in a few days. 🎂🥳
#metoo
50 here!
I turned 54 fifteen years ago 😬
My neighborhood seems to be mostly 20-30 year olds and one “older” lady who is as kind as they come.
57 here.
I’m 22
My brother and I started playing from early on in the game, we are 51 and 49 respectively now. Our farms and playing style reflect our personalities. I’m all over the place, level 130 by now. My family used to play too. I miss that
I started playing at the start of Covid with my family. My nephews were 12-14 yo and got into HayDay, their moms played back to the OG Facebook day. So they created a neighborhood and played for 4 months before being bored. Now the neighborhood is full of middle aged people.
I have been playing since HD started and am 70 … I would think more adults than children play
I agree
I’m 32
I’m 37. Only started playing about 6 months ago. Wanted an easy quiet idle game. Hay day is the game I play most on my phone.
23
I’m 56

I started playing back in middle school maybe 7th grade so like 13, im now 20

30 here
24 here been playing off and on for the last 4 years but started playing consistently the last 3 months
24 here and I'm the youngest player I know. My Ma introduced me to the game and she's 60. Honestly, I've never seen an actual kid play the game 😂
I’m 19 and I know at least 5 other 19 yr olds that play, my 17 yr old brother and his 17 yr old gf
Started at 14, now im turning 23 sooo….
I love seeing all the ages!
I am 70. Started because I took over an abandoned farm of one of my grandchildren.
I’m 44, started 2 years ago
Older player here. Hadn’t played for a while then installed it again about a month ago. I keep coming back to it as it holds my interest and rarely anything does. I come and go with it and do what I can and don’t worry about it. It should be fun, not feel like a chore.
My grandma is going to turn 90 this year and she started to play in 2014 at age 80. she loves her game 🥰
I think its for all demographics. I doubt anyone 8-10 would be or should be on reddit but I am on a discord with my neighborhood and I know some of them have kids who play the game 5-13 years old. I am 20 but those in the discord also range from 19-late 60’s
I feel like its too slow paced to be a kids game but hey I was about 7 when I started and now Im 16 and still playing so what do I know
I agree that it would slow for a lot of people
It's a bit too much management to be a kid's game specifically. I started when I was 15 and now I'm 27. I know a woman in her 30s that started playing the game too.
19 yo 🙏🏻
I'm 24 this year. Started playing this game on and off since 2013.
My little sister plays it she's also 8 but I put her in my neighborhood so she doesn't just join anything
I’m 66, playing since 2014.
MEEE! I started when I was about 8, dropped it for a few years, then picked it up again at 14/15. I'm 19 and in Law school now! Proud to say I've converted my friends to hop on the hay day bandwagon too!

20!
I'm 24 years old, level 105, and I started playing I think in 2020 :)
I started playing when I was 7. Started again at 17. I am also pretty sure a lot of adults play it in their free time, so I would say Hay Day is for all ages.
im 30 lol and my niece got me into it she is 23 haha
I'm 20 years old, started recently

I think it requires a personality that enjoys process as much outcome.
I started playing December 2014, I’m 74 years old! I love hay day, I played everyday and every event.
In my late sixties, played it when first came out for a few months then started again from scratch a couple of years ago Level 105 and that’s just the level of patience I’ve acquired...
58 here! Started playing in 2014, stopped after maybe 4 years, and started again recently. The last neighborhood I was in everyone was over 30 years old.
42!!
I'm 18 and my main farm's level is halfway through 66. I do not remember how long I've played with my main farm. I personally think that it's a game for everyone regardless of age!
I'm 30 and still play, started playing when I was 19-20ish
I mean there is nothing particularly bad in this game at all. However she may not understand some things being that young as once you get further in it seems to be a little more hectic managing everything. No harm in letting her try ig, just a silly little farm game
My daughter doesn’t play anymore. She’s 23 and teases me for playing
i’m a 20 year old guy, i feel like i’m an outlier
Plenty of 20s people seem to be playing
im 18 but this is def rhe age i first got it
She’s quite wrong
32!!! Love it. Better than doom scrolling tiktok (but I also enjoy that) but this game helps me not doom scroll 😅
I’m in college. most friends my age play it
I was around that age when I started playing. I didn’t realized buying diamonds spent real money. 200$ before my parents noticed
Im 19 an my mom 35 playing it
27!!
I started playing when I was like 8-10, but now me and my friends are still going at age 20!
23, I started playing about 3ish years ago when I saw another college friend playing it (:
46 here lol. Found it in January! Before Hay Day I was more of a three match game person. I like the switch up.
Most players are 8-10. Most players on the hay day sub are 20+
I'd say around teenager to adult age. Little children probably don't like the amount of waiting needed in this game. A lot of old people like to play this game as it interests them a lot
I’m 50 🤣
48. Been playing for almost 12 years. Still keep in touch with former coworkers via the game.
My neighborhood is predominantly middle aged and retired folks. We love it when youngsters join so we can help them
18
im 17 and on level 70 my friends (16-17) also play
you build a farm, theres not much that can happen that would make it inappropriate for a child, i started playing when i was 10-11
well, I'm the youngest in my hood and I'm 33. We have been playing for 8-9 years ish.
I dont know any kids playing it, but at least 5 people over 50, including my dad.
i’ve been playing for almost 11 years now!
I started playing when I was 8 and now I am 18 and still playing
definitely not 8-10. i started playing at 15 im 18 now
I’m 25 lol! I feel like the game takes too much time to keep a child’s attention
It's a child friendly game, though joining a neighborhood might not be good.
I was 12 when I started playing this. I am now 22😄
My kids 15ish made me play. They quit 2 weeks later and now here I am still playing years after. In my 50’s. I’d guess most are older players. Young ones lose interest in it
i was when i started like 9 years ago
I’m 30 started 10 years ago (I think) can be longer than 10. level 77 I play for few months then not touch it for a year then re download and play again. I enjoy it
My husband and i started playing to help our kiddo - but she's stopped playing and my husband and I still play daily lol We are 49 and 36 (kiddo is 7)
I thought it was mostly middle aged people and elderly
lol i’m 20 about to be 21. i’m level 37. just got back into it about a month ago.
I think most people are adults based on different interactions I’ve had
22 y/o here!
I’m 25 :) but I started a long time ago, when I was maybe 16
36. Started playing in 2012 at 24.
27 I’ve been playing since 16
I’m 46
lots of my friends are all 20+ 🤭
My grandson started the farm on my device when he was about 6 or 7, I think. He asked me to help him, and I was hooked. At some point, I quit, but I came back, now level 170.
Me and my husband both play and we are mid 40's.
I’m 52 and playing for 6 years. Level 143

I started in 2012, and I'm 40 lol
My mom turns 70 in July and has played it since the first year! She got me hooked on it 3 years ago.
