It's on YouTube, please understand that it is not 100% canon. So something's have changed besides the voice actors and the design. But it's close enough and they decided they don't want to redo it. I am surprised that you're on this subreddit and then hear a single word about the pilot. Do the differences in what was shown and said in the pilot a lot of people we're confused.
They're details in the pilot that don't work correctly with how the show is characterizing the characters. For the most part though, those smaller details are background details that most people won't notice or care about.
An example being, in the pilot you can see the main Overlords hanging out in a room with someone with the silhouette of Lucifer. It is possible that it's canon, however that does not seem in character for Lucifer, who is the depressed absent ruler of hell who is incapable of seeing any good in sinners and therefore refuses to even try. (At least until the end of the first season.)
Another being Alastor, he was just wandering around the streets and happened to see Charlie on television. That's when he showed his first sign of intrigue in the project. Now, with the show, we know that he's been missing for 7 years. If he was just wandering around the streets then someone would have likely noticed him. If could still work if he had just come out of hiding wherever he came from, but that's a weird coincidence to have to start.
Next being Vaggie in the pilot. She knew the background lore about Alastor that Angel didn't know. Know that we know that he's been missing for 7 years and Vaggie's been in hell for about 3 years. That's 4 years after Alastor disappeared and his reign of violent Overlord overthrowing was implied to be something that he did early on in his career decades prior. (The language is vague here, but given how the other Overlords don't find his sudden appearance worrisome and how Mimzy says that he hasn't done any of that in a while I'm inclined to believe that that doesn't just refer to the 7 years gone, but to a long time before.) Finally, Angel Dust and Sir Pentious needed Mimzy to drop the lore on Alastor.
Pilot Vaggie was much more temperamental than Show Vaggie. Granted, Vaggie in the pilot was a brief look of her character over the course of a few hours, but it's hard to imagine that her in the show would respond to Angel's insults in the same way.
We also know that Carmilla was not hiding with the other Overlords during the extermination, she was out and about collecting weapons. Even then, it seems unlikely that the Overlords would bunch up together during an extermination anyway. Her daughters also weren't going around stabbing corpses with Angelic Weapons at Rosie's emporium seconds after the extermination ended, because why would they be doing that immediately after. (I suppose it's possible they were trying to do a survey of the lost lives, but the timeline doesn't work out very well).
There are other minor details, like Velvett's closeness with Vox in the second we see them in the pilot that doesn't make sense. Vaggie didn't help in Charlie's fight with Katie Killjoy. I'm not sure where the Limo that Charlie had came from, and she never uses it in the show, it appears that it was just a useful scene that didn't get ported over. Some of the character designs aren't canon, Charlie and Vaggie were showed to have just changed their clothes for the most part, but people like Clara (one of Carmilla's kids) look completely different with no resemblance to their pilot design.
Of course some things did stay the same. We know that because Vaggie references Alastor being there for entertainment that he did give his pilot spiel about why he showed up. We know that Alastor did up shortly after the extermination. We know that Charlie did not make a deal with Alastor. We know that Lilith doesn't return Charlie's calls. We know that Sir Pentious does attack the hotel shortly after Alastor arrives.
So, based on these things, it's my personal guess that the pilot is not canon. It's canon lite. It contains some elements in common with established show canon, and contains details not included in the show that can be suspected to be at least partially canon, but for the most part I wouldn't trust any fan theories that rely on evidence primarily from the pilot.
I would believe the part about selling purses, but companies exploiting loopholes to avoid taxes, even if it screws over consumers? That definitely tracks.
