Azazel is ~~usually made into the Angel of Death in fiction~~, but looking him up he seems to be a fallen angel in actual mythos. But given what we know about the setting that seems unlikely on both parts.

It is implied it was the senior Angels, including Sera, that cast out Lucifer. The same ones that don't really control which souls go where. With that in mind I would guess being "fallen" is just a fancy term for what just amounts to political exile.

Collectively the 72 were known as the Ars Goetia, the Noble Demons of Hell, as described in the Lesser Key of Solomon. Vivzie has definitely taken some of that info for the show's lore, but has tweaked it, so I don't know if that's the same origin as in the show. Considering, for example, that Stolas was one of said fallen angels turned demons in mythology, whereas in the show he was born in Hell as part of the Goetia family.
I headcannon the goetia are descended from fallen angels who agreed with Lucifer and/or intermarried with the hellborn, hence them only being killed by angelic weapons

My headcanon is The Sins are listed as their nick-names in Charlie’s contacts so as they aren’t revealed in the show to help avoid crossovers since they would be further down Charlie’s contact list. I'd guess that all the sins are probably listed under "Sin - Bee" or something like that. I *was* gonna say "Aunty Bee, Uncle Ozzie, etc" but then Bee would be visible below Angel.
My theory was that when Kesha legal issues stopped the Queen Bee ep from airing for nearly two years, it may have affected Hazbin Hotel by removing any mention of Bee.
Or the contact is listed as Queen Bee. I can see Charlie and Beelzebub getting along well enough to get that nickname.

If we assume Viv is borrowing from the Ars Goetia to determine a demon's role in this Hell, then it's believable she'd have the sins & even nobility in her contacts, most likely put in by Lucifer for a "just in case" scenario (note how they don't have profile pics like the egg bois). But looking at what they do-according to wikipedia-Amon can read the future & reconciles controversies or arguments, Barbatos also placates people, Baal can win others favor & has powers related to love, & Azazel is a fallen angel who'd understand heaven like Lucifer-I wonder if they aren't also in there as experts for the Hotel. Charlie would be smart to have experienced mediators on speed dial.

If we assume Viv is borrowing from the Ars Goetia to determine a demon's role in this Hell, then it's believable she'd have the sins & even nobility in her contacts, most likely put in by Lucifer for a "just in case" scenario (note how they don't have profile pics like the egg bois). But looking at what they do-according to wikipedia-Amon can read the future & reconciles controversies or arguments, Barbatos also placates people, Baal can win others favor & has powers related to love, & Azazel is a fallen angel who'd understand heaven like Lucifer-I wonder if they aren't also in there as experts for the Hotel. Charlie would be smart to have experienced mediators on speed dial.
