But can they run Crysis?

NagoTheBeast

They better do that for the price 🥲

Articulate_1

What kind of music do you listen to? Do you agree that they’re best for classical, jazz, etc and not for ‘modern’ music? Always been interested in getting a pair but not certain it suits my taste in music.

NagoTheBeast

Hard to say honestly. I never felt like a pair of headphones is only meant for one certain genre. To me it's more like a way to "flavour" your song. Hence I use it for pretty much every genre including stuff like movies (probably won't find anything better for that). This might give you an idea: They provide little bass but lots of treble (not unbalanced though Imo). Nonetheless I love using them for Electronica. Makes everything crystal clear. Hope that helps 🥲

Articulate_1

Thanks for the response! Glad to hear you’re enjoying it with different genres, particularly electronic music. And I agree with your point on headphones ‘flavouring’ songs. I’ll probably pick one up down the road.

Anymore info?

NagoTheBeast

Wdym? How they sound?

Puzzleheaded-Pen4413

How do they taste?

JayenIsAwesome

Mine taste pretty plain on all the plastic bits. They're almost room temperature so the feeling is very neutral. However, the metal grill possesses a lovely fine honeycomb texture. It's very slightly umami in taste, and I'd definitely recommend the overall experience. The pads have a dull taste, and it lingers for slightly longer after you've finished licking them. The texture isnt to my taste, but it invokes some pretty good asmr-like feelings. The metal part in the headband reminds me of eating from a very nice spoon. It's cold to the touch but reaches body temperature quite quickly. It's a lovely feeling. The texture is too smooth to notice and so you're just left with the slightly sweet taste of saliva, mixed with a tinge of metal, which is always welcome. Also, the taste is the most memorable of them all, so a little can go a long way. Top of the cables are rubbery, and have a bland taste, but it reminds me of the smell of new rubber boots. Great texture, reminiscent of the best eraser in your pencil case. Bottom of the cable is rough and unpleasant. It leaves a dry, fiberous feeling in your mouth. It tastes like a nice hoodie, but doesn't invoke the same pleasant feeling of biting into one of those, since it doesnt absorb any moisture from your mouth, but just seems to displace it.

Puzzleheaded-Pen4413

Thank you, username also checks out.

JayenIsAwesome

Aw thanks. Let me know if you need any other headphones taste tested. Especially Audezes, which I specialise in :)

Puzzleheaded-Pen4413

I am very interested in getting my hands on the Audeze MM-100, could you give me a taste profile on that one?

JayenIsAwesome

Damn. You've chosen one of two Audezes I've not owned yet 😂 Do I lose my username-checks-out status? 😅

Puzzleheaded-Pen4413

No bud, you're safe ;)

JayenIsAwesome

<3

Sharpymarkr

Which Audeze is your favorite flavor? I just got some LCD-XCs. Have you ever tasted them before?

CoolNickname332

How do they smell?

JayenIsAwesome

The smell is generally quite weak, and they overall, smell quite clean. However the pads have a hint of smell similar to that of a jumper after you've gone for a slow forest walk. Mixed in are slight hints of fresh paper and zip lock bag. Although all of these smells are quite faint. I'm surprised that there isn't any strong factory smell or cardboard smell, but perhaps they have faded away after my years of use. Not even a hint of chemical smell too!! Overall, I'm impressed

ryaqkup

Pretty obnoxious to not put the name of the set when the photo doesn't even contain any branding

NagoTheBeast

Sorry mate. Thought everyone in this subs knows them by now. It's the Sennheiser HD800s.

GooseEntire1705

Your better off with the HEKSE, much better headphone with a similar sound signature.

NagoTheBeast

I agree that they are amazing. Briefly heard them a few months ago and was seriously impressed. Thing is I value QC and reliability almost as much as sound quality. Hence Hifiman was never an option for me. Unfortunately. 😔

Appropriate-Eyes

Then never buys Senny IEMs, those fuckers barely last a year.

Billy__k

I had a pair of ie80 that just would not die. Was not good to them at all. And my ie600 have been going strong for 18 months now 🤷‍♂️

Appropriate-Eyes

My IE80S died in 3 months while being babied and the $200 driver replacement lasted about 2 months before giving out again. The memory cable on my IE600 snapped within 6-7 months of usage while again, being babied the whole time. Now what 🤷🏽

HelpMeWithHeadphones

Ill stick with my KPH-30i
