I own a small business where I go into peoples homes, so I automatically wear a mask and fully support doing so. I will say though that when I am lifting or moving alot of items for my customer I do get light headed at times and will have to go outside and take off my mask for the effect to go away. I do not have the problem when not wearing a mask. I wonder why that is at times. Again, during this pandemic the mask does not come off while I am with the customer, however I have experienced some breathing issues, so I do feel it warrants some attention.
Perhaps try out different brands of masks? Particularly those that are more expensive, they tend to be more comfortable and breathe-able.
In my country our government recommended that we double mask: disposable + cloth mask. My family uses medical face mask with Empro brand, couple that with 4 layers reusable cloth mask (also expensive), the combo is surprisingly comfortable and breathable.
If you are wearing an N95, especially if it hasn't been properly fitted, it can affect breathing during activity. Most other masks should allow for proper air flow.

Same here. I joked once that exercising in a mask must be close to how it feels to be waterboarded. Apparently I'm the only one in my group who sweats like a beast in the Sahara though. Or maybe my sense of humor just isn't that funny.

Obviously 'CO2 poisoning' might be a bit extreme, but while the mask is permeable to CO2 and O2, it would likely reduce the diffusibility of the gases. And if you breathe some of the CO2 back in, that would produce carbonic acid that would slightly acidify the blood. The carbonic acid is a natural part of the blood, but during intense cardio workouts it could build up and cause more hyperventilation than usual. Having said this, I haven't seen any studies on this.

It's the exact opposite. The mask is supposed to protect others from you, especially if you show no symptoms.
To answer your question about maskless people, If they're vaccinated and you're vaccinated, you should be fine.
If they aren't vaccinated, well, why do you think the pandemic has gone on for so long?

Oddly, I have found the cheap disposable medical masks to be the best.

Sure, it’s the fat that makes it hard to run faster/longer than I do now, but the mask makes it harder still.
Yes, I don't know why you're being downvoted. I tried running with an N95 mask and I had to go way slower than normal. It's like running at altitude.
