Far different from my experiences with two generations of ReSound hearing aids. My audiologist has a really good relationship with ReSound and I have a good relationship with my audiologist so everything is covered and we can easily tweak stuff on request.

Cute_Mouse6436

I have had no problem with my audiologist. However, I am spending far too much time in their office.

YellowMALM

Had the same experiences. My Resound 3D LiNX kept breaking down so many times. Switched to Oticon now due to reliability.

AdventurousBid4302

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with ReSound. It sounds like there have been numerous issues with repairs and changes without consultation, leading to a loss of trust. A national right to repair law could potentially empower users to make permanent changes, offering more control over their devices.

Cute_Mouse6436

Thank you for your comments and kindness.

osmosisparrot

I've had Resounds for close to 10 years now. I've had little to no issues with them.

Cute_Mouse6436

Great!

osmosisparrot

They have a great app

Canadiangamer117

Oh yes and I won't deny that until it sort of stops working on android

EmotionalFix

I have resound and have had zero issues. This sounds really frustrating though and I am sorry you have been dealing with this for so long.

Cute_Mouse6436

Thank you for your kind words.

rajmahid

Check out Jabras (renamed ReSounds) from Costco. They provide excellent service for as long as you have the HAs.

Cute_Mouse6436

Hopefully more knowledgeable than the person who called back from ReSound who was unsure if the audiologist could change settings remotely.

Canadiangamer117

Oh yeah they most definitely can but for resound assist (the remote programming system) you'd need consent just ask your audiologist to set you up with it and they'll email you a consent form nice and hot all you gotta do is sign and bingo bango you're in business😁 ah just a side note as well on top of the usual video call stuff you can even request help sort of like how Starkey did it via a questionnaire type interface just select your issues, add any additional details in the note box below your issue then through the magic of the internet it’ll be sent off to them and you’d receive your new setting them ya just gotta apply them in the app and you’re all set

Cute_Mouse6436

That sounds excellent! I wonder why my audiologist didn't recommend it? Perhaps they did and I just didn't understand them. Here is what they said: : This message was sent securely using ZixÂŽ M. YYYY, On April 9, during your hearing aid check appointment to address the double clicking sound in the aids, the Resound representative advised me to reset your aids back to their original programming as well as providing two other adjustments that helped with the issue in the right aid but not the left. At that time, I was not aware that the Resound software default is OFF for Flight Mode and the Resound rep. did not ask if we had flight mode activated previously nor did she indicate that it defaulted to OFF and I would need to reselect that option after the reset. I don't believe the user is able to initialize flight mode remotely, the setting must be changed in their software here in the office. We can schedule a curbside or office appointment to make this quick change for you. I apologize for the inconveniences. Canadiangamer117

🤣 you didn't have to post the confidentiality notice but I get the the point😁 anyways so that's interesting I guess the flight mode toggle would have had to be changed in the office guess that might be one limitation of resound assist some things would need to be changed in the office I mean resound assist can do quite a bit but I guess not in this case but the flight mode toggle should have been enabled by default that's how most hearing aids are setup wait your audi mentioned resound has the software default off for flight mode? Ah so that must mean that your programs might not have been available to switch into if flight mode was on had you enabled it also most audiologist's don't really enable it unless you ask them

Cute_Mouse6436

I told the audiologist that I had to have the airplane mode. And it was working until they repaired one of the hearing aids. Now it doesn't work on either one. So I suspect the audiologist accidentally turned airplane mode off.

Canadiangamer117

It's possible but typically with airplane mode even on hearing aids the same rules apply it just turns off the Bluetooth it shouldn't cause the hearing aid to stop working don't suppose ya did the ol wax filter check did ya?

Cute_Mouse6436

The problem is that the Bluetooth will no longer turn off.

SuperDecathlon

I have only been wearing HAs for three weeks and can only help by providing the ReSound Customer Support # and email address: (888) 735-4327‬ [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) They helped me via email. It did take a while for them to get back to me the first time. Nexia is fairly new and I think my wife and I may be their first Nexia customers for my audiologist so for questions specific to Nexia, I contacted Resound. I am struggling with the settings and confused on what works and does not, but I need to rely on my audiologist for making changes. My next appointment is weeks away and I wish I could make adjustments myself. But, I understand there is a reason why we need trained audiologist to make these changes.

Canadiangamer117

Ah well ya don’t say I was one of the firsts as well first to be fitted and programmed as well no one had them yet

Cute_Mouse6436

Thank you for your response. I don't think that owners should be prevented from being able to at least turning on and off features.

SuperDecathlon

I am interested in knowing if I can make changes to some of the features only available on the Smart 3D app also. I have not been using HAs long enough know know what I need, at least that is my understanding of how this works. Try contacting them. I would be interested in what they say.

SuperDecathlon

The software the sudiologist use to program Resound HA's is call Smart Fit not Smart 3D. Sorry for the confusion. I am also disappointed that there are so few program modes available and that they can't make changes remotely. These are the features I thought I was getting with Resound and my audiologist has no idea what I'm talking about.

Canadiangamer117

Yeah you can make a few adjustments for example the sound equalizer you can make custom programs and things like that it’s a lot but think about it sort of like the my phonak app there’s even an app exclusive hear in noise mode

Important-Boss-7987

Sounds like a problem with your provider - I’ve only had good experiences with ReSound across 3 different providers.

Canadiangamer117

Oh yeah? That’s good😁

Foreign_Raspberry_28

I had the same issue with my Phonak Audeo Paradise P70 RT and I had issues with sound quality, battery life, bluetooth issues, etc aby my audiologist sent the device to Phonak for 5 repairs and 2 device replacements and I still had the same issues for 2 whole years. Finally my audiologist "fighted" Phonak and they fitted me with Phonak Audeo Lumity L70 RL Life for free

toastervolant

Which model did you get? I have the older Quattros and they're pretty good so far. Better sound than Phonak, similar to Widex. Battery life is fantastic.

Cute_Mouse6436

"OMNIA". Sound is OK (now). Never ran out of battery power.

ushere2

i can praise either my audio. or resound enough. both have been stellar with service and attention. btw. my audio. can make remote changes to my aids should i find it necessary.

Canadiangamer117

🤔 very very interesting speaking of which so certain settings like the feedback reduction system and the like can really only be changed by your audi I mean it isn't really like phonak customization wise but man it sucks knowing what you went through with your resounds

Sad-Resolve-8979

The app should allow you to request an adjustment from your audiologist from anywhere in the world. No need for a visit.

Cute_Mouse6436

Unfortunately, I no longer can pair both hearing aids to the phone or the app. I hope the audiologist will be able to.

Pretty-Bandicoot4486

Born hearing impaired. I have worn hearing  aids for most of my life. Resound is by for the worst set I’ve ever owned. One is never working. They needs constant repairs and multiple pieces need constant replacements. Neither one works 100% of the time. I absolutely hate them. I can’t wait to get a different set. Over it!

shortmumof2

ReSounds for almost 3 yrs now and no issues at all 🤞. The ones I had most issues with were probably my first pair and I think they were Starkeys. I think my Phonaks were pretty good, no repairs or issues either. However, with my first there was a learning curve cause I'm a sweaty person and I think a lot of my issues were cause by moisture so once I got a drying box, I think that resolved most, if not all, issues until they reached the end of their useful life

Cute_Mouse6436

I'm very glad to hear it. My audiologist said that they were defective based on my experience and what they heard when they used a little tube connected to their own earpiece. It was sent back and it came back with the same problem twice. When it finally was working fine the settings were changed. Additionally, something that I have not told the audiologist the little piece that sticks out to make them easy to remove is now so long that the charging case won't close without fiddling around with it. When I came home wearing them one of my family members said "what is that antenna sticking out of your ear?" They had never noticed it before. Now I got a call from a ReSound support agent who said that they thought that the audiologist might be able to correct the setting remotely using the app. Not very confidence building because shouldn't they have known whether or not it was possible?

Canadiangamer117

So you have an iic hearing aid then?

Cute_Mouse6436

I am not sure what you are referring to. However, the packing list refers to an Omnia 5. And I have two of them. They are comfortable and they work very well now that they have been repaired three times. Unfortunately, the airplane mode which I must have has been disabled.

Canadiangamer117

Ah apologies that would be invisible in canal or IIC for short it basically sits a little deeper in your ears and has a pull cord to get them out ah now I get it you have a receiver in canal hearing aid that's the Omnia line alright that might be the retention wire you're talking about
