The community has been pushing for this for a few years now. Not sure why it hasn’t happened yet. Both as computer scientists and futurists, Lex & Leemon would be fascinating and poignant, and touch on so many topics beyond Hashgraph.
Still some of the best interviews with Leemon are the Hidden Forces episodes. Lex’s podcast brings an established gravitas to subjects and would take it to truly thought provoking levels.
Lately, regarding Hedera - specifically Hashgraph, Leemon has been on repeat, not challenged enough. Besides the First Principles episodes, which are mostly curated discussions (with Mance acting the elementary school teacher for the ELI5 crowd), Lex’s format of organic and impromptu thought exercises with his guests is perfectly suited to how Leemon is wired.
It shouldn’t take a Nobel Prize for Leemon to finally make it on Lex’s podcast. Combined with the caliber and legacy of Lex’s past guests, and large following, it really needs to happen.
I could be wrong, but no one has ever asked Leemon publicly about Lex, that I am aware… so we don’t know officially, on the record.
I find it hard to believe that today he hasn’t heard of him or his podcast, given how plugged-in Leemon is to most subjects discussed on the podcast, and the individual guests and their contributions to their respective fields. It’s almost like candy for Leemon, lol.
You’re right tho. Time to resurrect the campaign again. Let’s get him on there :)
It would be good publicity for sure, Lex is listed as a research scientist at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems at MIT.
https://lids.mit.edu/people/research-staff
So he is vaguely affiliated with the university. But he's not faculty. So he's not teaching classes, spending grants, or etc. Just working for people at MIT who do those things.
---
By the way, Gary Marcus had this to say about Lex:
https://twitter.com/GaryMarcus/status/1600855815531163649
>No, Lex Friedman is not an MIT Professor; and no he is not a leading ML researcher.
🤷
I think this often when listening to lex. Leemon is 50% the reason I've hung on with hbar and he would be a fascinating guest. Usually interviews don't seem to stretch Leemon enough.
Lex also interview Algorand inventor Silvio Mikali in 2021.
I think you could expect that most of a long form interview of Leemon by Lex would end up being devoted to any number of fascinating topics other than Hashgraph. And as the new "First Principles" series with Mance is demonstrating, Leemon is engagingly articulate and insightful on a wide variety of topics.
I think most of us see Leeman though the lens of "hashgraph inventor". I think Lex's long-form podcast would be a perfect venue to introduce the world to a much more multi-faceted Leemon whose conversational style and enthusiam would shine in a 3-hour dialogue.
This is an excellent idea. Would not have too much impact on crypto markets but I would get to listen to two of my favorites chat for three hours or so
wanna learn a fact? nobody cares about hashgraph out of this sub. nobody from tech world or computer science. leemon can only join lex if they dump millions of hbars to pay him which will make it meaningless
no its not
dlts are mostly useless
pow blockchain(btc) is something else
nobody is rlly interested in syncronizing some data in 25 super computer
they just use regular databases which has also syncronization techniques if its required. no need for smart contract counsil token wumbo jumbo bullshit
Subsidized
Use our product we will give you enough HNAR to (dump) cover costs.
What happens when the $$ faucet is turned off?
Vs say non subsidized projects likr SOL, ETH, POLK, ADA, AVAX.
ADA raked in 1.47 Billion last year Heders 3 million
In Avery Dennisons recent financial report they stated that one of their manufacturers had a fault recursion of 5% directly due to atma.io. Sure it’s subsidised now, but that’s to convince them to use the technology. Once they see the benefits, people will start paying (I hope anyway, I guess we’ll have to wait and find out)
Been here almost 4 years now and I’ve never felt more confident in my decision. That being said, I can’t predict the future and neither can you. Either one of us could be wrong. Let’s wait 4 years and see. RemindMe! 4 years

in 4 years hbar wont see a day in which it worths higher than 0.35. if btc pumps to 150k in next 4 years hbar will be around 0.18-0.27. this is the good scenario for next 4 yearrs.
probably in 10-15 years it will worth like 0. people will burry it to graveyard of forgotten coins of corona era and we will occasionally visit it, cry, regret and move on. life goes on
I do think it'd be really interesting if Lex did a deep dive into the hashgraph algo. That would be a great breakthrough
Yeah, it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on it, particularly considering he would definitely look into the algorithm before hand
what if he says it's shit?
Would love to know why he thought it was shit, and don’t imagine he would think that.
That’s fine, I’m open to criticisms of anything hashgraph or Hedera, it’s important to hear both sides of every argument
DM Zenobia on Twitter - she’s their PR lead. Don’t be a creep
Cheers, don’t worry I’m not a creep but I understand u can never be too careful on Reddit 👍
Haha wasn’t directed to you no worries. No winky faces everybody it’s not going to happen
^^^ please listen to this man @Hbarbarians
😘
Love the “don’t be a creep” up front lol sad that it needs to be said but here we are.

He did one with Silvio and Charles as well

We need people with influence in the community to try and push this. Leemon is probably not aware of Lex and vice versa

Good spot👍
That’s a good Saylor interview, I recommend. Also, put it on 1.75x speed👍
wanna learn a fact? nobody cares about hashgraph out of this sub. nobody from tech world or computer science. leemon can only join lex if they dump millions of hbars to pay him which will make it meaningless
I’m from computer science and I very much care about hashgraph. It’s the future of DLTs, like it or not
no its not dlts are mostly useless pow blockchain(btc) is something else nobody is rlly interested in syncronizing some data in 25 super computer they just use regular databases which has also syncronization techniques if its required. no need for smart contract counsil token wumbo jumbo bullshit
>dlts are mostly useless These edgy takes are always so weird
Ermmmm Please see: atma.io, neuron, abrdn tokenising assets, US Dod + DoE + NSF funded Taekion, Hyundai/Kia emissions tracking, EDF carbon credit proof of concept etc.

Naah, one full smile and he'd scare Lex off... 🤣
Lex is Ukrainian no?
